Great video, I have a rod that bugs ate the cork. I keep my wine bottle corks and used them for repair, filled the gaps with cork dust and Elmers Wood Filler, sanded down. I bought fishing rod shrink wrap to put over the cork to keep the bugs out, it looks great. Thanks for the help!
Rasps are not "kind of" a wood file, they ARE wood files bubba... Other than my snarky comment great idea. I need to do this very exact thing to my very 1st fishing pole. Thanks for posting
That’s real helpful, particularly showing how to piece in the big pieces of cork. Thank you.
Ok D
one of the best result and best video about reparing rod cork part

Great channel. Thanks very much for all your videos.
Nicely done, very informative, thanks.
Good video, very helpful. Thanks!
I was looking for such advice, thank you
Best vid I’ve watched on the process - thank you 👌 what type of wax do you use to finish the handle ?
Bees wax dissolved in natural turpentine. This soaks into the top surface, the turps evapourates and leaves a wax coat.
Just what I was looking for. Thanks!
Got a question for you, can I use wood glue instead of PVA to create the cork filler.
PVA is wood glue. It says on the packet 'stronger than the wood itself'. The point is that PVA has flex like cork. Other wood glues may not.
@@avianfish8732 Awesome thanks for the quick response. Tight lines!
Miracle ! 🙂
