Hey sir, I have a handle just like yours but about 2" has broken off. If you look at your handle near the tip where it's darker, mine is just like that but broke off. I can actually spin that piece. How could I glue it back onto the main shaft of the cork? Would a two part epoxy work? I want to repair that first before filling with wood glue and sanding.
I would cut the cork in half and then glue it in place. Then sand and finish. Once the glue dries it will be very hard to tell, just keep the cork in the same direction.
Here is a link to the product. I also use sandpaper that I can buy at the store. HVAC supply is also where you can purchase this. mudhole.com/products/rod-builders-sanding-screen?_pos=1&_sid=849052f5d&_ss=r
Any sources for replacement cork handle blanks from US sellers? Most of the stuff on eBay are all coming from outside the US sellers and I don’t like that. I’d prefer to deal with US shippers even if it costs a little more. Thanks.
What are you using to grip & spin the rod while you use the sanding belt?

A tip: Use rubber gloves to really work that plastic wood into the cork.👍🏻🎣
