Overwhelmingly, Easter is a Christian religious holiday. One of the most important observances for Christians. Holy Week precedes it with church services on Thursday and Friday. So, my family first dresses up and goes to church to celebrate, usually have a more secular easter egg hunt for the young children, we give them easter baskets filled with candy and toys, the celebration usually ends for us with a big family dinner. Some people, who do not celebrate Easter from a religious perspective, celebrate with a secular focus on dyeing eggs, easter baskets, new sports clothes, and when the weather is good springtime activities and meals.I LOVE your videos Peggie! I celebrate Easter and we have candy in the morning and then have a late lunch early supper. We eat a nice lamb with things like mashed potatoes and green beans and things like that. Jello too. We go to church as well.

When my family celebrates Easter we have a family meal that my Grammy cooked(Grandmothers food is the best!) and then the adults or the much older grandchildren hide plastic Easter eggs with candy or small amount of money in the eggs and have the younger children go find them.
