Hello from the Philippines. I happened upon your videos looking for some exercises to do for my situation. Living in a foreign country, I have no idea what I would be in store for trying to get surgery, so I'm trying to heal naturally. Strangely, the Filipinos treat this as curable and claim that I need to be getting massages on it to help heal it. I'm not much for massage, so I've not tried that. The other thing they say is that I need to sleep with my legs up with my butt on a pillow. I've not done that either, but I have raised the foot of my bed up about 9 inches and at first, I felt my guts gravitating towards my chest.. but now I'm used to it and don't notice the bed is raised at all. I think this has helped a lot. I usually start my day out with no problems, but later in the day can have problems. I can go for walks but hold my hand over the hernia and keep pressure on it. Otherwise, I'm sure it would act up. I pretty much keep pressure on it whenever I'm up and moving around the house. I work online so I fortunately don't rely on my body to work. I don't think I could do that right now. I saw the video where you said you lifted someone in an emergency situation. I used to work as a private nurse for a man in a wheelchair and I lifted him all the time without any problem as I'm pretty strong, but once I lifted him, got off balance, and felt something inside of me go wrong. I never had any immediate problems, but now, 3 years later, I think it caught up with me. I also have the constipation issue and think that it is related to the hernia, as that was really bad before I knew what was wrong with me and after I knew and started holding the hernia in and resting it properly, the constipation issues became less severe. But there for awhile, I was in bad shape with constipation. I am still not regular and I am blaming it on the hernia, because before it popped, I was fine. And there's no reason for me to be constipated. And I wouldn't say I am constipated now, just not at all regular. Well, if you get bored in the USA and want to escape to the other side of the world, I and the Philippines welcomes you. It's paradise compared to the rest of the world and while I came here 3 years ago not knowing if I would stay, I have stayed and life has turned out to be pretty nice. I have lived all of the USA and I feel it is much better here. Definitely much cheaper here- maybe not in Manila- but a lot further out- like where I live in southern leyte. Are you currently in Nashville? I lived there a long time ago, but only for about 9 months. if you want, you can reach me on gmail.. giorgeleedy
Thank you for sharing your story. I hope the best for you and I will pray for a complete healing. Thank you for the welcome! That sounds really nice. No, I’m a little over an hour southwest of Nashville.
Thanks for updating, Grant. I have worked as a hospital dietitian and believe if you are getting 5 fruits and 2 servings cups of veggies a day you shouldn't have any bowel issues. You can try adding some ground flax seed to your diet, or (roto-rooter solution) metamucil daily. I do agree tho' that stress is the biggest factor in these hernias but how to reverse is another matter. I have been doing various vacuum exercises etc daily at your advice for months now and can't get any improvement. On diet and exercise I am totally consistent and their are no tempting 'eats' near me due to lockdowns where I live (India).
Hi, Jay! Thank you for the nutritional advice. I’m sorry to hear you haven’t seen improvements. I’ve found that switching things up (Diet, exercise, modalities, etc.) from time to time helps get out of those healing ruts.
Grace, mercy and peace be unto you! Thanks for the update and the encouraging words as always.May Gods blessings continue to be with you in these trying times and on your healing journey.Have a blessed evening brother Grant!
Sorry to hear that, about the moving and stuff but good to know you are ok buddy. Keep your health more important. Maybe one time you move to Vegas lol. Take good care of you man.
