Thanks for your comment! I actually read this and thought to make a new video explaining my new process for gain staging, which also addresses your concern as well. Hope it helps explain things better! th-cam.com/video/xAsDmtDgp8k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uvReCJKSmX9uw-sn
idk if you use ableton, but theres a m4l device that you put at the end of your chain, and it levels the in/out of each plugin for you, and does it auto. its awesome
I have yet to try that method, but am interested to one day! I've updated my gain staging method a bit. Check it out! th-cam.com/video/xAsDmtDgp8k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uvReCJKSmX9uw-sn
You are correct! I just updated this video with a new method I use for gain staging, and some reasons why I don't just normalize with the DAW's built in feature. Check it out! - th-cam.com/video/xAsDmtDgp8k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uvReCJKSmX9uw-sn
Depends on the amount of RMS level vs. peak level, and the perceived loudness that signal has at -12. I just updated this video with a new method I use for gain staging. Hope it helps! th-cam.com/video/xAsDmtDgp8k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uvReCJKSmX9uw-sn
VU meter is one way to gain stage, and normalizing is another. You can use both, but i think if you go the normalization route, the VU meter wouldn't really be needed. Nice video! How did you figured out that -18 dbfs level? I am fairy new at this and i am dazzeled by the number of LUFS/dbsfs etc etc. And i cannot find no clear answer... And this plugin has also a Continuous mode; don't you use it? It seems to me this comes in handy, sort of set-and-forget function... especially when you use a lot of processing after this plugin...
-18 was more so just an arbitrary value. It may have also been my confusion of the whole 0VU = -18dbfs. I now realize it's not peak values it referring to but -18 RMS. In this video i was gain staging based off -18 peak. I have since updated this video with a new gain staging method that has been way more effective for me. Hope it helps! th-cam.com/video/xAsDmtDgp8k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uvReCJKSmX9uw-sn
Absolutely. I just like to keep the wave form as is, so when I found the plug-in I thought it was a great way to make that happen. But I have normalized the waveform directly and the result has been the same. Just a means to get everything peaking at a specific dB ceiling so you can have an easier time setting the initial mix balance. Some people use a trim plug-in. It’s the reason I like normalization because it sets the level where I want it to be and I don’t have to trim down and eye the meters until I get it right. Just quickens the process a bit and gets the level all in the exact place I like them to be to start the mix.
hold up, didnt expect that beat to drop. NICE! God Bless bud.
Love the thumbnail shirt man ! #teamJesus
🙏🏻🙏🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I didnt quite understand the last part. You use this plugin on the end of the chain as well to keep the loudness same after fx chain?

Pink noise helps me matching levels . I wl definitely use this coz seems more simple ..😅

Logic has a function to normalise regions automatically. You dont need a plugin

will this work with gain staging guitars to 12

The beat is dopeee let me put a vocal on it G
Does the normalizer plugin replace of VU meter? I appreciate the share. Thanks

is this kinda cheating? xP..can you apply the HorNet plugin AFTER the rechoring and change levels?
How so?

There literally good information all over the internet (google)

Thanks a lot
That beat is ill
Appreciate it!
I see logic on your computer in the background. Can’t you just use Logic’s built in normalizer?

You talk too much, just show how it works.
😂😂 well I must like the sound of my own voice I guess 🤷🏼♂️ Check out their manual for a faster guide! Cheers bud!
