It does not, and this is something we specifically tested. At least not with the tub we used. The heating mechanism is on the inside of the tube not the outside.
@@TubTalkReviews ok thanks! We just got a Lazy Spa Santorini with Hydrojets and 180 bubbles. Very nice but it’s been on for 4 days and only gotten to 99*. Insulated the bottom. Thought that might help. Been in the 60’s during the day here in KY. Low 30’s at night. Hate to think I already have to heat hack it🤷🏼♂️
Theoretically, yes. We just advise to NOT use an extension cord and be very careful with how long the heater is on. It shouldn't be on for any longer than an hour and you should take the same precautions as you'd take with an outdoor inflatable hot tub.
A little more science would be helpful: 1. Starting temperature. 2. Time immersed. 3. Ending temperature. Advanced science: 1-3 without appliance for comparison. It is clear that you are using it as an additive to the portable's heater, but understanding the actual impact of the immersion heater is not at all clear. Saying it cut the time by 6-7 hours is only helpful understanding my previous suggestion of science 1-3.
We're sorry to hear this review was confusing for you. The starting temperature is without being heated up in general (this depends on your outside temperature at that point). All hot tubs, especially inflatable hot tubs, take some time to warm up for quite a few hours. This, however, depends on the tub but they all are around 12-24 hours. Whichever hot tub you have chosen, this will cut down 6-7 hours of that specific time. We have multiple reviews of many popular inflatable hot tubs on the market where we state how long the heat-up time takes and this accessory can be used to shave that time. The water heater stays in the tub until you want to turn off the heat.
You are supposed to put in water first then plug in. I was worried it will pop cover as you pulled it up. Again, supposed to unplug before & put in container so it won’t burn hot tub. Just received mine for new hot tub… same brand you have. My Salu spa needs a vent not sure what it is called, like a littttttttle piece inside intake by motor to block debris. No replacement. Wasn’t sure I wanted a new motor, cause couldn’t tell if it had piece I needed. So trying this, and immersion. And will turn hot tub off at night.( bummed new tub, did not have inflatable for insulation so I just borrowed the one off with my other tub. I may just find a used motor that still works and make the other hot tub of cold plunge. Lol. Do you have any idea like how long it took to get the temperature up and what you’re starting temp was I’d watched another video and I think the gentleman was getting 4° an hour. I know the hot tub generally do about two an hour.
I have an immersion heater that I use in a pinch when camping. I have a portable shower unit and an old 5 gallon bucket (got it free from the grocery store's bakery area - I think mine contained frosting). I can fill the bucket up with water, put the immersion heater in and in a little while I can take a nice, hot shower! Immersion heaters are definitely something that requires being SAFE with it (water and electricity...just be very careful), but they work really well!
Idk if this was meant to be as condescending as it sounded, but I do not think that a product that has a risk of electrocuting people would be pushed by a shopping app like Amazon.
This answer depends on the hot tub itself. Some can take anywhere from 12-36 hours. Regardless of which tub, the immersion water heater will cut that time by about 6 or so hours.
Hello! Thanks for your video. One question i would ask: Can I use the same extension cord for the tub heater and for the water heater you showed on the vid?
Hi there, thanks for your question! We do not recommend using an extension cord AT ALL. We use extension cords for filming purposes but it's actually extremely dangerous to use an extension cord for the hot tub or any additional pieces. It's recommended that these tubs and pieces are plugged into 110v or 220v outlets.
@@TubTalkReviews Thanks!...What is the max temp this could heat your tub to? My tub heater stops at 102 and id like to get it to 104-106. does it take long?

Can I use this on my 10 feet long inflatable pool?
Does it not burn the lining of the tub? If not, how? I would think the metal is very hot.
It does not, and this is something we specifically tested. At least not with the tub we used. The heating mechanism is on the inside of the tube not the outside.

I have indoor home hot tub sick refilling using all my hot water you think this will work good for mine
Yes, this something you could definitely use on yours! Just make sure you're following the manufacturer's instructions when you use this.
Can we use in regular bath tub in bathroom which is made up of clay or XYZ whichever I don't know? (Regular bath tub not a hot tub)?

Safety first! But yes, they're pretty awesome when used correctly.
What was the rate of heating up degrees by hour ?
Looks sketchy dunking an electric device into a big body of water, as you say, but hey those Chinese wouldn’t skimp on safety, would they? 😅

How much water do your hot tub hold
So how long did it take to heat up
I used it in addition to the heater already in the hot tub, but it sped up the original heat up time by 6-7 hours.
What is the foil ball for that comes with it?
That is to help clean the heater if it gets chemical grime on it!
You never mentioned exactly how long it took to heat up the spa.
This answer depends on the hot tub itself. Some can take anywhere from 12-36 hours. Regardless of which tub, the immersion water heater will cut that time by about 6 or so hours.

@@SylvesterSrokathat really shouldn’t take too long if you’re using it to supplement the heater on your hot tub.
I just bought this and I’m scared to use it.
I don’t want to get electrocuted
The ones I have say you should submerge it before plugging in.
Yes, that is correct! That was our bad.
I think these need to be stopped from touching the sides
It will melt the side of your tub if you’re not careful ..
We are sorry to hear this happened to you!! ): Were you able to contact the sellers of both your hot tub and the immersion water heater?
100 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank…tractor supply!
