  • Korean evening skincare is not about expensive products, but focuses on skin-preserving methods and techniques. Sleep is when our skin cells turnover to reveal that youthful glow. Making the Korean nighttime skincare ritual a part of our daily skincare routine takes only about 10 minutes! See your skin transform overnight!

    I’m 37 and my mother never thought me the importance of taking care of your skin (not that I’m blaming her) but it was in my 35s that I started taking care of my skin and I started with clean products. I feel like I need to tackle so many areas, like hormonal acne, and acne scars, hyperpigmentation, dry/dull skin, and at the same time oily (T zone). It’s so hard at some point to apply the correct order or what to take as priority. I once saw a video explaining to apply after cleansing the products with less consistency first since it is hard for the skin to absorb it on top of a heavy product.

      Hello J.v! I was moved by your heartwarming thought towards your mother. I also agree because my mom focused on foods for healthy skin and so my skincare routine has been self-taught or learnt from Korean aestheticians. We all have different sources for information and I hope we can continue to share our experiences.
      The tips on layering are very helpful and I agree, depending on what our skin needs attention on (hyperpigmentation, acne etc) I’ve been through most of the same concerns and it’s a continuous learning!

    I just found your channel but am so grateful to find Korean Skincare aimed at women 40+. I have found in the past whenever I use a foam cleanser (after an oil one) my skin feels more dry. Should I just forgo the foam cleanser and stick with oils/balm/lotion cleansers only?

    • @mein40
      @mein40  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tatdrew!
      Firstly, thank you for your interest in skincare!
      If your skin feels dry after cleansing, the cleanser likely has harsh ingredients like alcohol and/or your skin is dehydrated even before cleansing.
      I also have dehydrated skin and find a lot of benefit from a double cleanse and the right products. Check out my video on the easy double cleanse. th-cam.com/video/7FmpJOwFDt4/w-d-xo.html
      Also I’m available for a consultation if you would like to show me your cleanser and I can recommend a better foam with a cleansing balm.
      You can book with me at www.mein40.com

    you do not use retinol nor eye cream. May I ask what is your take on those? I do feel like I need to use an eye cream for my puffy eye bags

    • @mein40
      @mein40  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @Yolanda Charlo
      I use a plant based bakuchiol skincare line which gives the same effect as retinol but without the harsh side effects. :)
      For eye creams I have tried some but many don’t work on me. I have had success with Beautycounter’s eye cream containing the same natural ingredient bakuchiol.
      I actually prefer getting my 7-8 hours of sleep and that helps the most!

    Hi I’m 25 my face is sagging but my skin is very oily and sensitive what products should I use without breaking out

    • @mein40
      @mein40  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Nice to be connected. At 25 years old I’m sure your skin is radiant ( without too much sagging) and likely just in need of hydration and preserving collagen. The products I am showing in my videos are suitable - maybe try the lighter textured products that I point out because your skin doesn’t need rich moisturizers. One other consideration are avoiding foods that are known to contribute towards premature aging like sugars and ones high in acidity which can affect collagen in our skin. I will do a future video soon on preserving collagen and help relift sagging skin without surgery! Thanks for the question and video idea.

    What eye cream would you recommend?

    • @mein40
      @mein40  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Katherine! I have tried the Pyunkang Yul eye cream and found it to be very hydrating without heaviness.
      I also love the Beautycounter countertime eye cream which is great for lifting and a natural plant based retinoid which is gentle (a higher price point).
      Here are the links for both:
      Pyunkangyul - these are individually packaged which helps with freshness

      Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream : www.beautycounter.com/en-ca/anitaleechung/?goto=product/countertime-ultra-renewal-eye-cream
      Alternatively, I try using a very light serum for entire face including under the eyes but if you want more targeted eye care the above 2 gave me great results. I hope they work for you too!
