      Also i hear your concerns about DIY masks causing skin irritations for some people. What may work for some might not work for others so please if in doubt make sure you spot test and apply a tiny amount somewhere else to make sure there aren’t any negative reactions first!

      Since u said u would like to hear more diys, what ppl in India do is mix 1tsp of gram flour, 1tsp, rose water, 1tsp curd, 1tsp honey, 1tsp turmeric. Keep it on till it dries completely and then gently scrub it off. Brightening, remove oil and feels great. For lip masks we use "ghee" and that's magic. I have been following u for a while now so ik u have dry chapped lips..u can apply ghee to yr lips and leave it on over night And get the softest lips.

    You probably should have mentioned that people with sensitive/acne prone skin should not use lemon. It’s too acidic and can easily irritate the skin and cause photosensitivity. Would not recommend lemon juice on the face for anyone really

    For everybody that will try the lemon (or lime) mask, be extra careful with exposing your skin to the sun. Also be sure to wash your hands really well after squeezing the lemon. Their juice can cause a chemical burn that takes a long time to recover from.
    After the mask, wash your face thoroughly and don't forget your sunscreen as Tina said.

  • @vileon5689
    @vileon5689 3 ปีที่แล้ว +95

    I'm not here for this. The DIY skincare trend is so dangerous as people have the tendency to overdo it and damage their skin either by burns, scars or by destroying their skin barrier. Products with extracts of fruits are much more safe to use rather than the fruits themselves, as compounds of irritating or allergy-triggering properties of the fruits are removed.
    I'm so happy you're being sponsored by foreo, but this is dangerous and shouldn't be promoted. For your own good, if you want to use diy skincare, go with honey by itself rather than mixing it with anything else.

    • @novarage1923
      @novarage1923 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Agree. Lemon can be very damaging. Also not here for anything"detoxifying" skin, which is not real from a medical perspective and dermatologists recommend you actually just protect skin from exposure.

      I was worried why someone had bot pointed this out yet.. to be honest I love tina and her contents but I hate it when big brands and names like her start promoting diy skin stuffs which can be more harmful than useful..there are too many scientific papers suggesting the same and yet we see so many influencers promoting it.

      I was looking for a comment like this and you perfectly explained everything that is wrong with this video and trend while still being respectful. I also enjoy Tina's content but I absolutely agree that the DIY skincare trend, although it is a fun idea, is dangerous and misleading in the sense that it promotes this "natural is better" idea, when it is absolutely false. Science and health, including that of the skin, should always be prioritized.

    I love Tina and her content and I am happy for the Foreo sponsorship. But please don’t put things like strawberries, lemon, and yogurt on your face, it can destroy your skin barrier so much, they are acidic and not suitable for skin application. And olive oil is comedogenic so it will clog your pores so much. The produc is pretty expensive and the other ingredients are not skin safe so I think you’re better off getting sheet masks or actually potted masks from skincare brands. They know what they are doing. You’ll save money and you skin’s health

    You should mention that lemon can cause acne breakouts, I have always wondered why Korean skin care has in it so much. I found this out the hard way, UGG! Then I read up on it.
    I love using coconut oil which also can be an irritant for breaking out, I always tell people to test patch new ingredients but adding sugar to it becomes a great lip exfoliant and perfect for those dry patches that we get on our skin during the winter time. I do like to keep my coconut oil in the refrigerator and let it sit out for a few minutes before using it so it is a thicker consistency versus it being a runny oil. This is also great for people that get those bumps on the back of their upper arms, adding a drop of tea tree oil to this mixture really helps that.
    I am excited about this new product, there are so many times I am making masks at home that need that stability so it will work like a proper mask. Oh the possibilities! I’m quite excited.

    • @selenia4111
      @selenia4111 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anything can break you out. Ppl should know that they should do a patch test first to everything they put in or on them. Idk why ppl think that TH-camrs should act as a parent for every little thing that should be already known. You shouldn't but anything on your face if you don't know how it reacts to your body.

    • @mommashawna707
      @mommashawna707 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@selenia4111 Being allergic to something and being an irritant are two different things and I did say to do a patch test but to think everyone is going to do a patch test on anything they put in or on their skin it’s just unrealistic. My daughter has severe allergies and eczema and that’s why I read up on so much of this, she is even on a shot that she has to give herself every two weeks because of it. She has had this problem since she was a baby.There are certain things like lemon that people do not know that is an irritant because it is in so much skin care, it’s confusing to someone that doesn’t know much about skin care. I am so sorry for trying to be helpful.I will never understand why a comment from a stranger can make someone so angry

    And it's an Indian recipe.
    1 tsp gram flour ; besan
    3 pinches turmeric ; haldi
    1/2 tsp multani mitti (opt)
    1/2 tsp rice flour (opt)
    2 tbsp yogurt
    1 tsp rose water (opt)

    Tina, I've been following you for years and usually love your content but I am genuinely super disappointed in this video. DIY face masks are not useful since ingredients like lemon are super acidic and can irritate the skin easily. I'm glad you get to do sponsored content, but it really concerns me how many people I see here that don't know enough about skincare to know that these can be that harmful. I see people complimenting your skin on here (which is fair, you do have good skin) but I don't think they realise its because you've been using consist skincare and sunscreen and not because you put diy facemasks on them.
    For anyone in these comments that is thinking of trying this: Please don't do it. Fruit is acidic and you never know just how much of the vitamins are in it since it's different for every piece. It gets formulated to work into skincare in combination with other ingredients to make it stable to use on your skin.

    That olive oil is too clear. Normaly it should be yellow. A good qualiy olive oil in spain is even greenish yellow
