You guys are the Best 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Totally such a great channel. This is the real meet and potatoes of good quality TH-cam productions that is super entertaining and a solid learning experienc.@@danielsantiagourtado3430
Incredibly well written and presented. Not a word is wasted, and the information is solid and informative. Thank you!
Agree.
I agree about this content as well.
The narrator was on point with accents.
Genovese was addicted to power and that cost him, arranging a huge conference to proclaim himself boss of bosses was bizarre
The Black Knights of the Round Table
You would know, you were there..... Stick to your Goodfellas DVD keep your bullshit opinions to yourself.
Good point. It’s like he needed attention badly but wound up shooting himself in the foot.
Same thing Maranzano did
It wasn't called to proclaim him boss of bosses, just head of the commission.
"Babe please you're not Italian because you've watched 100hrs of mobster movies!"
"Can you belive this broad?"
My first laugh of this long day, thanks!
@nena8692 No problem. Hope your day improves.
Fugetta boud'it.
ROFL
Gotta have meatballs/spaghetti 🍝 and glass of red wine 🍷 while watching them, it helps alot 🤣🤌🏻
This has become my new favorite channel
Genovese my maiden name. My grandfather knew him. Lived the same town in italy. Then Queens i guess.
I love ❤ this channel it's so good. Thanks for the hard work you put in. Now this is real entertainment.
As always, such a great video! Thanks!
As someone who watches all your videos I have to say I love your work. I hope that you will perhaps cover icons such as Gengis/Kublia Khan, Atilla, Hannibal ect one day!
And Netanyahu
@@philodonoghue3062 Why give that pr*ck any coverage?
Great channel. Glad I found it...
Thanks to People Profiles for another hour of enlightenment
Enlightenment? That what? Europe did not send their brightest nor their best, they sent murderers and thieves? Yeah maybe.
As I watch the credits roll and see how many people it takes to make this content, it would be interesting to see a video on how you pull it all together. You're videos are great!
Carlo Gambino got rid of Vito Genovese, when you know you know.
Social club? He's gotta GO!
@@JangianTV Damn right !
He left Big Paulie in control afterwards.
Bad move.
& the rest..
Carlo got rid of multiple bosses. Genovese, Anastasia, and Joe Colombo
Love your content guys! Thanks For this! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There's a restaurant near me (Hudson Valley NY) owned by a Genovese family member. (The food is ridiculously expensive and not that great. ) Very popular place. I saw the dude once behind the bar wearing grubby sweats. I knew immediately who that guy is. He was federally indicted around 15 years ago. Must have cut a deal.
He's not as mean as he looks.
He's much much much meaner......
So Europe did not send their brightest not their best? Just murderers and thieves? Yeah.
Everybody's got a cousin in fuckin queens.. 😂
Continued Mispronunciation of Valechi bout drove me nuts 😂
Superb as always, TPP; there clearly aren't any scraps in your scrapbook!
This was a pretty solid presentation.
Great video
Excellent video.
My great grandma & my grandpa, who was 5 at the time, immigrated here legally from Italy❤❤
Amazing documentary so much history that was not often connected to LCN and the Mafia
Veto Genoese was a complex man who felt he was skipped over many times for promotion to being cappo de tutti cappi ( so he made himself into that figure head) Lucky never trusted Veto and I’m sure he arranged his downfall. Your documentary is spot on. It also is the story of the movie the “TheGodfather” exactly. I’m not a fan of the “ Cosa Nostra” the Mafia or anything else it may be called but these men found themselves int bleak situations and it seems it was the only way out for them. The most interesting part of this story is that prohibition was the most common reason forward for these organizations to flourish.
My grandmothers brothers were Canadian Irish and were booze runners during prohibition
I think it's about time there's a movie about Genovese. It's overdue. Nicholas Pileggi & Scorsese should spearhead this operation.
Largest of thr 5 fams. Inherited Lucky's clan, including the NJ Bios from Newark. too. A major home run TV epic!
A profile of jaques mesrine would be good, a true gangster. His story is fascinating.
Italian immigration to Brazil was huge too. Tops US and Argentina.
I did not realize how many Italians went to S. America until I watched the World Cup. Messi, Di Maria, Otamendi, Molina, Acuna. Even old Maradona. All Italian names.
@@eoghancallaghy2634mostly Argentina
Wow, I didnt know this happened especially about the prohibition era , i didnt think it would target irish, German and Italian immigrants but, America created their problem.
I see Genovese, I click 😁
Yeah in many ways that's more to do with topography and climate. NZ is hilly , windy and wet. Amsterdam etal are flat with more settled weather
That immigration statement is the same 100+ years later
It is clear that Genovese was an ambitious person who wanted to achieve his goals nomatter what the circumstances were. If it meant killing a person to achieve his goals he had no problems with that.
Don Carlo was behind Alberts demise, not Vito.
Vito messed up big time with Valachi. Not to the level of the Gotti-Sammy disaster, but he did a lot of damage to mob in that time-span.
The 19th ammendment was a mistake also
Genovese was More brute than Brain... That's for sure.
Thomas Dewey was the toughest man of them all.
Yes! He went after the likes of Dutch Schultz and Luciano when they were at the height of their power. You can’t get any tougher than that!
Thomas Edmund Dewey
March 24, 1902 - March 16, 1971
You would know, you were there of course.....
Read the biography on Tom Dewey. He's responsible for so many positive changes in NY and the country. But what many remember him for is losing to Truman.
Unfortunate because he was one of the best, brightest and most honest public servants of his or any generation.
30k 1920 dollars is 468k in 2024
A house is 1920 was 6k for example
Capone and Giancana are respected to this day in Chicago
In the movie, "Mobsters," they threw Marranzano out of the window. That wasn't true?
What do Italians know about liquor..how they got involved in bootlegging is beyond me.. olive oil and pizza and pasta maybe
Its just a bio till u see a documentary on ur mothers great uncles and aunts are the documentary
The mob ran like a well oiled machine for a long time after Vito Genevese was killed. It was John Gotti, who was the beginning of the end. IMO of course I am only 40 so I was not there lol
If not for Vitro calling for a meeting of the leadership of all the families in upstate N.Y. Hoover was forced to admit publicly that the Mafia existed which forced him to begin investigating them which played a huge role in the downfall.
W
Veto Genovese died of a heart attack in prison he wasn't killed.
Did Genovese need a reason to kill anyone?
Hello there, can you please do one on Nicolae Ceausescu. Cheers.
Leave Ceaușescu Alone !!! Fucker !
We all know the name. Boss of bosses
👍
I know that guy
Ohhhhhhh
Remember, kids. Drugs always win the drug war.
Can you do the life of Field Marshal
Sir Harold Alexander of Tunis
Or The life Of Field Marshal Henry Mainland Wilson
I've been out
Thou Shalt Not Kill
Thou shalt not MURDER
vito the heatbag lololol
Gotti was the destroyer.
I respectfully disagree. RICO laws were the destroyer. To be fair though, it didn’t help that he was so public. But I feel like once they feared the government more than they feared each other, guys started flipping.

95 IQ? No wonder it went to shit? You have to play chess not checkers if you want to win that game? Lucky should have ended him and give it to Lansky when he went down, if he did the Mafia would have owned
the government since the 60s instead of corporations. That hit would have changed history? Not saying anything would be better no way it could be worse😂
Given what to lansky? The family?
