  • Motley Crue - Time For Change (Lyrics)
    I heard some kids telling me
    How they've lost all the faith in the way
    They've been talking world peace
    And the war's in the streets
    The lines on their faces so deep
    A revolution, or reach out
    And touch the day
    We're overdue child
    Change
    Now it's time for change
    Nothing stays the same
    No it's time for change
    I feel the future in the hands
    Of our youth will be safe
    No more lies
    Old, tired fools tell our future
    With tarot cards, and lie of crime
    The lines on their faces so deep
    A revolution, or reach out
    And touch the day
    We're overdue child
    Change
    Now it's time for change
    Nothing stays the same
    No it's time for change
    I'll change
    I'll change
    Not tomorrow but today
    Change
    Now it's time for change
    Nothing stays the same
    No it's time for change

    When I think about the 80's I lose my breath...I'd give anything to go back for even one day! Growing up in the 80's....the 80's were.... well if you lived them you know....life at its BEST!!!

      Amen to that, I was 13 in 87 so I got to enjoy the 80s as a kid. The 90s were fun too!!! But I'm learning that the older I get the less I enjoy things I used to. 😢. When my grandpa told me time speeds up the older you get is true.

      I'd love to go back to the mid 80s through the 90s and stop at 1999. So many bad things already this Millennium. 9/11, Covid and the list goes on.

      @Catydid1996 This song had such big foreshadowing of what was to come, and I don't even think any band member of Mötley Crüe realised it!!! This song came out in 1989, and just a year later in the summer of 1990 Man In the Box by Alice In Chains would be released which was the first big hit grunge song which officially ushered in the decline of the arena rock and glam/hair metal rock that utterly defined the 1980s!!! This just proves that when each new decade that came around (until 2010 and 2020 those uncreative sons of guns), there is a change that occurs!!! I just wish that it happened in today's modern music, now I have to dig deep for the stuff that is different, and not something that was invented back in the 2000s...

    I remember being 10 years old reading the lyrics in the tape cover while I listened to this cassette on my Walkman! Now at age 30 it still evokes the same emotions I felt 20 years ago! I will always love the Crue! They were an integral part of my adolescent development, especially one particular racy poster of Tommy Lee!

      @vickieross2157 as a member of the modern generation, I can confidently say that music in most genres post 2011 sucks so bad!!! However, I love how this song had such big foreshadowing of what was to come, and I don't even think any band member of Mötley Crüe realised it!!! This song came out in 1989, and just a year later in the summer of 1990 Man In the Box by Alice In Chains would be released which was the first big hit grunge song which officially ushered in the decline of the arena rock and glam/hair metal rock that utterly defined the 1980s!!! I just wish that it happened in today's modern music, now I have to dig deep for the stuff that is different, and not something that was invented back in the 2000s... I just wish there was a revival of some past genres at this point because at this rate, music is not going to change...

      Think about it, the song was on Dr. Feelgood. That LP was unstoppable when it came out. It had the title track, Don't go away mad, Kickstart my heart, Without you and Same Ol' Situation. This song didn't stand much of chance at getting mainstream play. Good song though. I remember having this on tape and I used to love this song, because it had Sebastian Bach from Skid Row on it. It was such a pain in the ass to rewind and get this song to come on the tape.

    Nikki has such moves you can't take your eyes off him. He has incredible stage presence and grace in his movements. Tommy doesn't have it at all, Vince sorta did, Mick just stands there. Something about Nikki and truthfully I don't even think I would like him as a person. But I must give Nikki his due and his movements are hypnotic. Truthfully, I am surprised he made it this far and is in the healthy state he currently is in. I firmly believe he is one tough cookie mentally and physically and will ALWAYS survive were many others died or failed. His childhood no doubt made him this way. Thanks for tbe soundtrack of my young life.

I played in bands and strung out on dope like my idols unintentionally . However 3 years clean august ! CHANGE !!!!

    "Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen."

    first time I heard these guys was back in '94, I was 7 years old and I found some old recorded cassette tapes that belonged to my older sister, most of it was crappy synth-pop but then I ran across one that had not only the opening to Lost Boys, but also Pink Floyd, Bony Tyler, The Who and this little gem. I wouldn't say I'm bright but at least I at least I had a very musically privileged childhood :P

    Such a great '80's song that gets better with age, especially given how it relates so well to time and place and the whole crazy bittersweet human experience. That said, the 80's made for such a great decade and was such a great time to be a teenager. There aren't many decades past/present that can hold a candle to the '80s ... about the only thing better than the 80's (especially finding oneself caught up in a pandemic)... would be to go back and experience the 80's all over again...sigh...
    fyi ... if I ever run across "Doc, Marty & the Delorian"... I'm taking you all back to the 80's!

    I wish they'd play this live. It's a great song and still relevant to today's world. I don't understand why it wasn't bigger than it is. Take out "Without You" and put in "Time for change" on you set list for Final Tour

    • @AlienVibesss
      @AlienVibesss 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @candirenee74 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Put in Time for Change and You're all I need....Without You is too slow and was over played. They don't have room in their set to play all 3.

    • @Andydreamtheater
      @Andydreamtheater 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      candirenee74 I'd take out "Primal Scream" &/or "Anarchy In The UK" - but that would take Nikki's story out as well.

      Yeah, but they are just retired now. None of them are dead, lucky after everything they have all been through. They're doing different things now like Nikki with his photography. Just like this song they felt like it was time for change. We will always have the songs, the videos, the Dirt, those will live on forever.

      I have something that will make you feel less bad listening to this. I was working at a Fast Food place just for some extra cash as a second job. One day the district manager came to me and wanted to make me the manager of the store since I had lot's of experience from when I was in high school and used to have to explain how things needed to be done to the actual manager. The store was losing money left and right so they fired the manager and I agreed to take over (It gave me a higher salary than working two jobs). Well, he had a meeting on Saturday morning to let people know. Nobody was upset because the manager had been a bitch but then someone asked who was taking over. I hit the CD player to have this come on and walked out. It was awesome because everyone had wanted me toi be the manager anyway, told them the changes I was going to make. Now this was 2002, so most of the peoploe working there had no idea who Motley Crue were, but that song got about 75% of them to become fans. I even took one of the girls that worked for me back then to the last show they did near us during their last tour.
