it's good that they changed comp so you don't have to play all 3 gamemodes each week to maintain your division, but the downside is that nmpz now is basically dead because nobody is forced to play it

12:01 I'm from Maryland, I was thoroughly confused why South Dakota looked so much like here, turns out it's because it was here. You do see those bollards here occasionally, usually to indicate dead ends I think? Not a meta at all, just my irl experience. Kinda cool to "beat" zigzag on a round by so much, even if it is my neck of the woods.
Apparently the matchmaking changed a couple of days ago. It used to be divisions first and then +-2 divisions if it couldn't find an opponent, with rating seemingly having no effect at all.
Then a few days ago I queued against a 1100 rated gold as 1100 rated champion and when I asked them later they said they were stuck playing golds but suddenly got higher rated opponents. So my best guess is that it is back to just matching by rating again if an opponent is available.
If true that would break the divisions entirely but at least we can also just ignore them now and simply worry about rating.

In the past few videos, I've noticed that the right side of the window capture is slightly cut off. It's not that big a deal, but sometimes we can't see important parts of a round (especially nmpz). Fixing it would be much appreciated :)

Peter said there was no more rating decay on his video talking about the new competitive format a month or two back...so if he's right (he probably is) and it hasn't changed, better to take a week off than just play one per week. Also, awesome job in Sweden!

Rating decay isn't a thing anymore! The only downside of skipping a week/multiple weeks is you will be hidden from the leaderboards and your division will be hidden on your profile until you play again. But you keep your elo and division despite not playing. When you play again you will re-appear on the leaderboard at the same spot you were

I watch your videos irregularly, but have been following you for a few months now. I had also played very occasionally myself, but without any ambitions.
What strikes me about the videos is that they contain a lot of - shall I say - "technical terms". It took me quite a while to find out what "NPMZ" means.
There are a lot of things I still don't understand and that's why it's sometimes difficult to understand the game and the rules.
Is it possible to get a basic introduction? So not how to recognise areas, but a guide to different game modes and technical terms? How does the championship work? There are also little things like that: What does "GG" mean when you send a little message to your opponent?

'gg' when sent mid game means 'good guess.' when sent at the end of a game, it means 'good game.' hope this helps :)

I thought it would be objectively good for me for these divisions to happen- one week of guaranteed master but actually once you’re relegated it’s not great because I’ve spent two weeks at gold against easier players and now master is really tricky and if you have a bad run of say 6 losses in a row (I played well until one bad guess in every game) then it really knocks confidence and everything. Not a great system I fear
