Part 13: • Afroman on Being Calle...
Part 15: • Afroman on Settling La...
    Part 1: • Afroman Thinks Police ...
    --------
In this clip, Vlad started off asking Afroman about his song “Call Me Something Good” and saying that he’s no longer using the n-word, and Afroman explained that it’s the most offensive word in the English language out of 171,000 words. He added that the word was invented to speak negatively about Black people, and Afroman stated that a lot of Black people don’t have Black pride. Vlad and Afroman agreed that other races don’t really use similar words, and he went on to reveal that he’s had white guys say the n-word around him.
Moving along, Vlad spoke to Afroman about asking previous guests if they’re offended if white fans sing along to their songs at concerts, including the n-word. When Vlad pointed out that G-Herbo told him that he’s not offended when he sees it, Vlad also spoke about Van Lathan saying that TMZ owner Harvey Levin believes he can say it if he buys an album. Vlad stated that he disagrees with all points, and he added that he doesn’t even like saying “n-word” in interviews. Afroman shared a story about a friend’s stance on the word, and he went on to share his thoughts on women calling one another words like “h*e” and “b*tch.”

Really good conversation Afroman makes some great points. As long as dudes think it’s a cool thing to say and in someway showing that they’re down or street/ghetto which lets face it is deemed cool, brothers are gonna say it. It is what it is so word ain’t going nowhere. If there comes a time when the word is thought of as corny that only a Busta/sucka would use it will stop being used. But again it’s gonna be the streets that determine whether the word is corny and no one else. Until that happens it ain’t going nowhere

Sigh… The short version I can say is the beauty of the introduction of the N Word to me was a term of endearment. Not older black people, but coming up as a teenager mostly in the 90’s for me, people my age or a little bit older. It was used as a word of endearment before I ever heard someone white use it as a word of hatred. And what I mean is 2Pac introduced me to it as pride and happy to be black. Never ignorant getting goals accomplished. That was ‘91 or ‘92. By ‘94/‘95 moving further south. When a white person threw rocks at me telling me n word to back to Africa while I was in the front yard cutting grass, fixing a flower bed, working. And they drove by in a pickup truck speeding by. It didn’t phase me. I just though huh. So that’s what that is. And I had no anger. You can’t scar me using that word in a derogatory way. Because my memory of the word. My earlier memory of the word has been defused. So, I don’t think slave when I hear that word. I think, oh. What’s up fam. And move on. That’s all I’m going to share today. I could go into this with other negative examples and an example not so popular. But the idea of someone introducing the word from inception as negative. We take it and flip it. And then someone who’s not black mentioning we shouldn’t say it no more. It leaves a taste of oh. You still want to try to control the narrative because the negative has been sucked out of the word so if everyone can’t use it no one can now? Naw bruh. Next! Not to sound like Ariana Venti (see what I did there? Starbucks pun lol). But just leave it be. Maybe the younger generation will defuse it even more. I don’t know. But at the moment there’s enough people still alive from the 90’s who ain’t changing even if technically I do or don’t say it no more.

Spot on! Sorry that happened to you dude, people can be nasty over something so petty
      Check this out
      I'm white right? and
I have uncle's and older older people from like the 70's and 60's telling me that "hip hop huh?? What are you black??"and "oh why are you dressing like that
      It looks stupid!"
All when I was 8 yrs old to 19
I grew up around EVERY type of person
      Not just one color
Alot of people were in Providence
But to get to why I commented
Even if someone who's black says the dam word,it's like you said
As a fellow kid from the 90's it didn't mean anything like that anymore, the whole world changed by that time
But also out of every race especially white people! That word is the most offensive word in the English language because of people who are white back then were selfish and lazy and pure evil
To be completely honest with you
If I saw what really went down
And I was your color bro
I would look at the world through no more color
      Just black and white
I see so much selfish white people who abuse white privilege also
I say it all the time to my fellow white people "it's white privilege" lol

The home team shouldn’t call themselves a word that in its original origin means King? The word was used as a mockery of its original meaning. Laughing at someone who calls themselves King while having them enslaved and beating and raping their people is what made the word derogatory and disrespectful.
