  • Raspberry Pi's are hard to get hold of in 2022, so I bought a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 and IO board. Lets see if its worth it and what the extra and unique features are.

    Am having a problem finding any start to finish videos on the Flash Process using the RPi IO board or any other board. I have the DeskPi Mini Cube and am having issues flashing it in any conventianal way. I have ordered the IO board but accidentally got it flashed using MX linux attached to a USB drive and RPi Imager. But now that it is imaged I cannot get back to delete it and my end result was to use the DeskPi Mini Cube as a KODI box. So what did you use for a Slave Cable, just a regular USB A Male to USB mini cable? Not sure a nuts and bolts eMMC flashing video would be a possiblity but an indepth dive would be a plus! THX even for this Video!

    Hello. Your video is quite informative and thanks for sharing good information. Can I connect a small 7" touch screen display from waveshare with this board. Can we use the touch also?

      Yes it has the same 40 pin headers as the other Pis and works just the same as you’d expect

    What do you mean 12v + 5v? Like there are two power connectors?

      No am thinking that he was meaning dual voltage, the barrel connection is 12vdc as far as I know and probably gets further stepped down to 5vdc on the IO Board. 12 Vdc being needed for the video connection if you add a PCIe Gen 2 Graphics card.

    seeing as it has a pcie on-board, could you plug a GPU into it?

    Don't think you can do POE without a hat

    • @kevinmcaleer28
      @kevinmcaleer28  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the specs - it doesn’t need a hat to do PoE - check out Jeff Geerlings blog article too, he talks about it in there: www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2020/raspberry-pi-compute-module-4-review

      @@kevinmcaleer28 it has the same poe SUPPORT as a full pi4. As in it has the same headers and internal cabling. Cm4 carrier board doesnt have power regulators that supports the 48v from poe.
