Tried out a new filming/editing format with this project. A little faster paced and some voiceover commentary. I'm hoping that it's more helpful in general and answers a lot of the questions that I usually get. My end goal is to be as valuable and helpful to you all as possible so let me know if this is working!
This is my primary goal in leather work! Such a western film fan that I finished gunsmithing schooling, now want to get the leatherwork down. In the end I plan to sell custom rigs & old west firearms!
I’m getting ready to make a western cross draw holster and cartridge belt. This video was very informative! I love watching your videos before I start any project!!! Thank you for all the inspiration!!!!
Stock & Barrel Co I’ll respond with a pic when it’s done. It’ll take me a bit. I don’t have a sewing machine I have to hand stitch but I’m pretty excited to make this. My first holster.
From the first time I was able to watch your video about what tools to buy first for starting leather crafts - I never stopped working on my leather projects and in making my work better and better. Your such an inspiration!
Great job, I'm making a holster. I make a lot of them myself for different people, if they want them. I bet you did a fantastic job. Especially the burnishing in the sewing
My dad did leather hokster making for years before his arthritis got to him, he would have clasp on his holsters so you could have multiple belt styles or shoulder rigs so 1 holster but many ways to wear them
PLS PLS PLS keep doing this style of video going foward. The explaining what your doing/ how your doing it and what you’re using to do is super entertaining and SUPER helpful for people just starting out in leather. (I started bcuz of your amazing channel)
James Coil I thought that was weird, since the belt is two layers, he could have just done the same thing in the outer layer of the belt, glued it to the liner and called it done..... not sure which method I prefer, would need to see one of each next to each other and try both on......
Refined editing/high-speed sequences make your channel seem even 10 times more professional!! Bravo!! (And, as always, the leather work is great too!!)
Nice job. I have to cut the belt end taper first in case I screw it up. At least then it's right at the beginning. lol. I saddlestitch the whole thing...that sewing machine looks great. The sewn on loop backing is an awesome idea. Beats cutting holes in the belt itself. I'm about to start a shotgun shell belt and will use that.
i wasnt really into leather work back then. but when i saw your channel, i was mesmerized by it and now i really appreciate it. the amount of craftsmanship it takes to create leather work like how you do is unparalleled. cheers to you and your family! much love from the philippines 😄🇵🇭
I finally got my Stock and Barrel Video fix!!! This one was another killer one man. Keep them coming, as always you're awesome and thanks for sharing. Much respect and lots of love from Japan, Jeff
Parker, Why are you not making these holsters to sell? I would pay up for a holster like this! My Cimarron Pistolero 4.75 45 LC would look bad to the bone in this holster. beautiful!! Man, you got skills!!
It must be wonderful to have an entire professional leather shop to work in! I've been doing leatherwork as a hobby for 50 some odd years, using only hand tools, and buying my leather as I needed it, rather than having large stocks of it. I've made gunbelts and holsters(I made a western-style rig, including fake cartridges, for a steampunked Nerf gun) and, as both a medieval AND black powder recreator, sword scabbards, knife sheaths, axe/tomahawk holders, shooting bags, quivers, many different types of pouches and belt/shoulder bags, bracers, jackware, and even leather armor!
I never comment on TH-cam but this will be this first because it’s important, I love your work and I know you are missing out on a lot of sales not selling gun belts and holsters, like one of your videos said, craftsman sell a product you can never find anywhere else...well I only came across this video looking for one because I can’t find any that are high quality online or a craftsman near by to build me a custom one. I’m stuck in having to buy somewhere else but hopefully in the future you can sell and play a big part in the gun community, anyways I love your work and I’ll support you and buy a wallet and maybe some other good I might like. Thanks again keep up the great work, never seen anyone take so much pride to explain in so much detail in their work and list literally everything to help others in this field
Your videos are the inspiration that got me off my ass and into leather work! I'm about to make my first cowboy quick draw holster for my bro who is into quick draw shooting!
I have just come across your channel and am blown away by your work. Ive see in the comments that you don't make these to sell but if you ever do, please let me know. Ive got nobody nearby who can make a decent leather holster. Keep up the great work!
Love the buffalo nickel. This rig would also look great in a dark oiled russet brown leather. I would have done the cartridge loops in canvas to help lessen verdigris.
I've learned so much from your channel! Thanks for all that you do!... I've recently gotten into leather work for my knife sheaths. Talk about a whole new frontier! 😅... If you're curious about things I want to see... more knife sheaths! lol
.... more please. L handed and shoot western.... Have worked leather professionally for many years and can offer a tip or two if it works better for you. When gluing liners to any belt, use your elbow to hold the end down and stretch the liner out as much as you can when pressing the two together. Makes for a natural curve and prevents wrinkles in the liner. Another one is when cutting out curves drop the edge of your thumb down and use it to help guide your blade and keep a perpendicular cut. You be making perfect circles. Good job.... I'd wear it proudly.
Hello, Well I gotta say,, this is a great video of a classic gunslinger rig! I'm a member of CFDA here in Gainesville, TX. NTSG and I'm just now getting into leather crafting. You're very thurough, and informative. Thank you for sharing your craft. I really appreciate your HOW TO videos, Y'all make some quality products Sir! Keep it up, you're a class act. Doc Hook CFDA, NTSG
Thanks Aaron! It's great to have the approval from a CFDA member. I would love to learn more about making an official fast draw holster. It requires a lot more in the build, like including raw hide or steel for a deflector and more structure. Also, there are tricks to keeping the holster down on the belt when you draw. I don't have any of that. This is a very simple rig but it's really fun for just playing around. If you learn any tricks for official fast draw rigs i'd love to hear them. Thank you!
@@whitandparkI know a couple of tricks for that, I'm working on getting them built. however, I lack most of the tools required, and I'm a Greenhorn when it comes to leathercrafting. I'm working on one right now, though I doubt it will have the craftsmanship, or consistency of your products! Anywho, I will keep you posted and up to date if you would like?
I have enjoyed watching and impressed with the left handed holster. Yay for the south pawz out there. Should you decide to make another left handed one for sale please keep this old man in mind . I had one for many years. But as life happens I literally lost everything do to hurricane Ike. Great video thank you for sharing.
Hey Parker, when are you going to include the template for the gun belt and the western stitching template on your website ? Keep up the amazing work man !
Oh wow, felt like I haven't watched your videos in awhile, and the editing on this was fantastic! Love the voiceover , narrating the whys of certain steps.
Great work! I love seeing your videos there’s just something different with the way you make them from the rest. I can see how much you love creating different things and that’s amazing to me. Keep up the great work ❤️

Love this new style of commentary! And wow that fast draw rig is beautiful! Love your videos and I’m glad you finally got one posted! Keep them coming man! I have learned so much from your channel!
Loving the content Parker. I have dove in headfirst into the leather craft world due to the inspiration of your channel and other makers. Keep up the great work sharing!!
Beautiful work! A perfect holster. I collect replicas of weapons from the Old West and make holsters for them but I have no tools. I also do the holsters for my pistols. They are all made and sewn by hand. The last one I did was for the 1875 Remington Revolver, caliber 44. I am a lover of everything related to the Wild West. Films, documentaries, weapons and the very history of lawmen and gunmen. I live in the city of Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. You got a like and another one subscribed to the channel. Congratulations! PS: Sorry about my English. It's not good.
This! This is what I want to do! Everything about the process, from design to fabrication I love. I play airsoft and have been working to incorporate my two hobbies. I have made several holsters now and each one is better and different than before. Any assistance or advice would go a long way.
Love all of your work and videos. I especially like the western shooting projects I live in Canada and unfortunately handguns are somewhat restricted, so don’t have friends I could make this stuff for.
Love your work been following for a will. Would you be able to make on drop off style for a smith and wesson magnum500 performance center 10and half inch barrel

Leather and guns, it doesn't get much better than this.
I just watched your two quick draw videos back to back. The second one is far superior thank you. I'm about to make one and I'm gonna copy yours.

a belt like that with a cross draw holster would look so good! I love the look of the tapered ends! 🤠
Thank you for Showing how to make this cool cowboy quick draw gun belt. I'm inspired to make one myself.
i have a quick draw holster, but the front is lowered from your design to clear the holster much quicker, i love it
Can you please show us more, On how to make the stichless bullet loops and how you came up with your spacing?
I love watching people work when they're damn good at what they do.

Amazing, Tandy build! I loved the leather work! I just never get to do it anymore, unless it is DYI.
Love the buffalo nickel. This rig would also look great in a dark oiled russet brown leather. I would have done the cartridge loops in canvas to help lessen verdigris.
I made a no stitch Cartridge belt a few years ago :) Came out good.

Great quality video. I'm after the tandy burnishing machine. What power does it have (Watts)? Does it have good torque at low speed?

When did you take the plunge into machines, was there a certain volume threshold? What do you recommend for a first machine, I make mostly wallets and EDC pouches gear.
Cool, planning to make a leather holster for toy laser handgun. What kind of glue do you recommend that can be bought at hobby stores?
