@@WadeHarrison what's the obsession with going that fast on a bike. Don't get me wrong, I like speed as much as the next guy but most people do not have the experience to be riding an 80 lb bike that has insufficient brakes for 30 mph. In reality, it probably has insufficient brakes for 20 mph. Do a panic stop test from 30 mph and report back. I think you will be very shocked.
A real solid e-bike, quite the beastly fat tire. Really comprehensive review.I like the hidden battery and the wood plank rear rack. I considered Mokwheel before ultimately buying the Velotric Nomad. They ain’t light that’s for sure. Need a heavy duty bike rack and a bit of muscle to lift it, but the Mokwheel will go and go. I’ve yet to test the agility on my local MTB single track MTB trails.
Great ride test review, at the 21min make didn't look like we're rattling hardly at all, was that because of the 'extra' cushy seat?? Lastly what are those gloves your wearing? Thanks for the great review.
just bought a white ST and get it in a couple weeks at the lbs. I demo'd a few and this was the one I liked the most, even more than the Obsidian, which I thought I'd like more with the second shock, but it was $700 more for a shock and what seems like the same amount of power when riding it, though I understand the torque is better. Bought an Aventon Level 2 for my wife at Xmas and found I didn't want one for myself so got this one instead. :) Wish they had a snow camo color too!
Great review! One question, I saw another review and he was saying that the torque sensor was "twitchy". He said that he had to put quite a bit of effort into peddling for the sensor to kick in. What is your opinion? Thanks!
I saw that too. His review was almost a year old, I think. Maybe they saw it and corrected it. He tried to get rid of the twitching in the intensity setting but couldn't.
@@ScottH22175 I got my bike and have about 15 miles on it so far and have not noticed any twitchiness in the sensor. I'll know more after a few good rides. Maybe Mokwheel addressed the issue.
@@jimbomaz I have rode $4000 ebikes and I own this one. Mokwheel definitely does not have as smooth a power delivery as the more expensive ebikes. The bike takes a few rotations of the crank before the power starts getting applied. The solution to this is to use throttle as soon as you want to start moving and keep peddling and then after a turn or two of the cranks you can release the throttle and the torque sensor is now working. In the default intensity setting (5) the application of power is pretty abrupt so to keep the bike at one speed the power feels like it is on/off/on/off and its like riding with someone that is on and off the gas on a car. It drives me crazy. What it's doing is it has so much power that it accelerates past the speed you want and then turns off the power and heavy bike slows down quickly. So like described in the video, turn the intensity setting to a lower number and that curbs the power input and it less abrupt. My wife has a cadence sensor bike and those are basically a 3 speed bike (8, 14, and 19 mph). So to ride with her, I change the speed limit to say 13 or 14 and then I can ride at her speed. Otherwise if I leave the speed limit at 19 and I try to go her PAS 2 (14 mph) I have to feather the pedals and I basically do not get any exercise. While I would rather have better software, I can live with these limitations and save $2400.
OMG!! YOU HAVE 80%!! Whats wrong with all your men that complain about this!1 DOES YOUR GAS TANK IN YOUR CAR HAVE PERCENTAGE!! GOOD LORD!!!!!!!!!!! Whiners! THERE ARE TEN BARS, right? TEN BARS EQUAL 100%!!!
EXTREME BUYER BEWARE: only get this bike or any bike from Mokwheel if you enjoy having an absolute NIGHTMARE of a time dealing with support. There are many other bikes better than this from reputable companies who offer actual customer support for the same price or less.

@@matthewsprygada4085 This 68 lb. bike is equipped with Tektro hydraulic brakes that are more than adequately powerful.

These are one the top mid grade e-bikes out today
Awesome video. I maxed my top speed and love it. Mokwheel makes some great bikes for a good price.
Awesome yeah Mokwheel hides it true power in there!

I did not get that at all maybe if you adjust the sensitivity settings can fix that

What is the method to seeing the total miles used on the bike ?
Push the mode button and can cycle through
But the one I a, getting is the walk through frame
I just got the mokwheel obsidian step through will be doing a video on it soon
Getting dizzy all the in and out movements of the camera. Can’t watch any longer. Sorry.
Hahah yeah I have definitely worked on not doing that in feature videos
Basalt is intrusive or extrusive magma.. Interesting name they chose.
I think all the models are named after some sort or rock minerals

The momwheel I saw at a bike shop has a 1000 watt hub motor it’s a basalt like yours and has the jungle camoe I think it’s the momwheel basalt s
The new one I just got has a 1000w motor it’s way more powerful
Bike is great, but customer service for this company is non existent. I have one too.
I never had to deal with them so can’t speak on that
I've heard the opposite actually, maybe they've recently become better at that
I’ve got a local dealer that sells them and I have heard that from more than 1 person so I’m hoping having a local shop will help with that.
@@zackhutcheson6359 My local shop helps me with anything I need on the bike.
