- Well I think I did a better tutorial here than my NST one, Jordy's evolving xD Leave any questions you have down below i'll try my best to help whenever I can. The fast slide is something that still needs a lot of testing but at least there's a working formula for it now.

My question is, the 1 second time box on the rail disappears a lot.
Do you know anything about it?
Oh wow yes I wish I addressed this in the video I completely forgot. That 1 second box on the grind rail will never respawn after you take it the first time. You have to fully restart the level again

I think i mentioned it somewhere else already but one thing i really love across pretty much (almost) every Crash platformer: They all use the same movement tech, yet each game variations has their own twist. (spinning, sliding etc)
looking forward to some more record breaking time trials!
I always love that the movement is slightly different but always feels like a Crash game thats fluent to run

You’re insane, and yeah double jumping is one of the biggest mistakes you can make during these time trials.
Cheers! Yes if you double jump anywhere that unnecessary then you lose a bucket load of time. Easily the worst thing you can do in a time trial other than everyone's favourite bodyslam of course lol

I remember using your guides for Crash 2 to figure out shortcuts etc, this movement is insane. Really rough to get the rhythm going

No problem! Yes its hard to get the hang of without bodyslamming or something stupid haha. The inputs you need are slide-spin, jump, spin
Omg I just noticed that in my run a 1 second box is disappeared lmao. This game still needs some work from developers. A restart button in time trials will be also very appreciated. I can't explain why they didn't put it since both NST and CTR has it

You're amazing..! I still have some trouble with the constant slide spin movement, can you make a little gif with the correct input and timings with the controller inputs shown on screen? I think it will be really really helpful for everyone. Anyway, I'm looking forward for more WRs :))

It would be so awesome if someone made a detailed video guide for the dev relics in every level. I’ve completed the game 106% and did the devs TTs in NF, but this game is way too complicated for me and when i watch these vids i really can’t comprehend what’s exactly going on, i seriously can’t tell when i should slide spin and when i should just stick to spinning and do all the other techniques and anything else that saves time
Yes there's a lot going on in this game for sure, the best tip I can give is slide spin on ground, anytime you are forced to jump use the triple spin as it gives you forward momentum. Maybe a dev time tutorial is something I can do in the future and make it into more of a step by step basis with pauses or something

Its still all up in the air movement wise at the moment I don't think anyone knows what the best way is lmao. But triple spinning on ground isn't faster than the fast slides you can get i'm very sure

Used to be back in the day I used platinum time tutorial to net gold relics. Now I have to use dev time tutorials for platinums. Wild
Update: either my controller doesn’t work or I’m mentally challenged because I cannot get either the sliding method or the spinning method for speed to work. The ghost zooms on ahead as my guy just spins normally. No blue boost or anything. Just nothing.

I can not master that platform jump. I get the body slam, but it's actually the platform before that is getting to me. Crash just stops in front of it when I try to slide+double-jump from the smaller platform

Great video, I've been struggling with even the Platinum relics and this helps a lot. Had no idea about the disappearing crate tho, is this the only one like it in the game?
insane video, having difficulty consistently pulling off the slide spin. must be pressing it too soon into the slide, practice, practice. Im at 102%, so its just the time trials left for me. Ill keep at it.

Amazing run! Just a quick question how do you begin to time trial a level? Do you just trial and error it or do you go through bit by bit to learn each part of a level. I've got all the relics on the n sane trilogy but I'm only getting gold's on crash 4 and need all the help I can get haha

You are an amazing player Jordy and I love your runs so much!! I have an issue with the slide and spin technique you use to outrun the ghost. It seems random. Could you please explain it in more detail if it is not too much trouble? It would be really appreciated!
Thanks! You referring to the fast slides you can get? Or the triple spin in the air? It is a very strict timing for the fast slides you definitely have to mess around with this to get a feel for it. But I feel if you delay the 2nd spin its a bit more lenient I press the slide button just before the spin animation ends. I also feel this effect works in a similar aspect to triple spin in regards to timing where the game thinks you're using it but in reality you're not and you're able to do a slide and still get propelled forward
@@Jordy925. Ah, I see. So it's a matter of perfecting your timing right? I am mostly refering to the fast slides. One question. On my fast slide and spin technique should I do a triple spin after the slide or cut it before it finishes?
@@Dragonball620 Yes its all timing based, what I do in my run is slide-spin then normal spin for the double spin blue effect then slide-spin again. Rinse and repeat when possible. You shouldn't be able to do a triple spin after the final slide spin thats faster you would get a normal spin. The concept of just doing 3 slide spins in a row though with perfect timing also isn't out the window of possibly being faster than what I do, but the visual cue of the blue double spin makes it so much easier for me.
Is there any consistency to shooting the beetle into a time crate but the TNT? 70% of my runs are ended right there for me since jumping on the TNT is ludicrously slow and it seemed so smooth in this run
Sadly no proper consistency i'm afraid other than just taking an angle that snipes the beetle in the right direction. But what box it hits out of the 3 choices feels random and good luck on reacting to where it decides to go. For me the beetle hit the left box or TNT the most so I opted to just go right side and hope for the best

I plan to do as many levels as I can, but yes I will create a playlist of my PB's outside of my developer time runs when my second level goes up! Its great to hear I can help out, hopefully I can teach better when I get more confident at speaking too :)

Let me see if I understood correctly what you explained. Does the double spin serve to gain maximum speed right away and the slide spin to maintain? And does the slide spin necessarily have to be that fast or whatever? Your tutorial is very good, I learned a little from it but I want to give a review: D
After more testing the double spin effect isn't useful before a third slide spin unless you're in the air before landing. Its fast but turns out you might as well just do slide spins on the ground as normal if you can as the second slide spin has decent speed to it as well. It seems these aren't possible in any% which means that this is a side effect of the triple spin upgrade that lets you do it on the ground essentially after sliding. When the movement of the game is more clear then i'll redo this tutorial to be way clearer because I only vaguely knew at this point haha

Do you recommend remapping controls in anyway? Ive read maybe changin spin to L1 and using R1 and L1 might help has to avoid movin away from the jump button
For me I don't remap any controls but at the end of the day you decide which buttons suit you best because everyone is different in this regard
So if you just spam triple spin and don't slide-spin you can get similar times?
At this point in time i'm 99% sure triple spinning on ground is useless you're better off slide spinning normally.

Its quite likely PS4 Pro has faster movement due to the higher frame rate just like how NST on console was way slower than PC

Never played Crash 4 with the D-pad so for now I recommend analog

When I do the slide spin above wholes, he make a body slam, this is the part I dont get
You have to make sure you don't slide too early when hole skipping otherwise the following slide will still be in the air resulting in a bodyslam. Also sometimes you need to stretch the slide a bit further

Yes what Maison said, the difference won't be as insane as the NST's console vs PC but i've already heard from several runners that its a big struggle to match pace of the PS4 Pro users especially for Dingodile's levels
