Excellent info! I prefer building gliders. Indeed, my OmniWings include pretty much all the aerodynamic properties of the modern day hang glider designed into the wings. Center of Gravity, improved airfoil, proper amount of wing sweep, twist and washout for stability. I present one of my favorite flights with an OmniWing off of Mt. Nebo, in Arkansas.

This video helped me adjust my homemade glider (that is made by folding a dart's wing down until the slim bottom part of the plane becomes short). It has some aileron problem and I fixed it. Now my glider can glide super far and it is all thanks to this channel. Subscribed!

This is a really good video to help beginners get into the essential aerodynamics of paper airplanes. A minor point you addressed that differs from my opinion was the distinction between darts and gliders. I would argue that all of the planes you presented as examples of darts were in fact also gliders. If you look at the planes they used in the red bull competitions, the darts were literally pencil-thin sticks made from folding a piece of paper over and over again. Compared to those actual darts, the dart examples in your videos have way larger wing spans.
I think the distinction between darts and gliders is the way you throw them. Gliders utilize their wings to generate lift to keep the plane in air, so they are thrown at a horizontal angle to maximize lift. Throwing gliders at a higher angle would cause stalling, and the wings wouldn't produce lift to keep the plane aloft. Darts are optimised as projectiles that experience free fall, with minimum aerodynamic effects. Therefore, they are thrown at a near 45 degree angle for maximum horizontal distance.
You know definitely what you're talking about! I love encountering people who have a lot of knowledge and interest in paper airplanes. Frankly, I agree with your assessment to a degree. I think it really depends on how strictly we want to define the term "dart". Every paper airplane with wings is generating some amount of lift, and therefore, glides. So we could safely call all paper airplanes gliders, but still we call some darts. So I don't really think there is a dividing line between darts and gliders. I think it's a spectrum between the two.
I also agree that the main distinction between darts and gliders is the angle (and often speed) at which you throw them. This is why I make a distinction in this video (and in my video specifically examining the differences between darts and gliders) between the planes we're talking about. Yes, the "darts" in this video could also be considered gliders, but you throw them differently from the gliders depicted in this video. And that's really the point I'm trying to make.

I see your point, and I agree there's a distinction between the two types of planes you showed. You're doing great work here, the locking folds you designed in your planes are really interesting and I haven't quite seen them in any other designs. Good stuff.

i really know to make so much planes and one of the best Arrowhead it is pretty quick and stays in air for upto 40seconds but i dont know to throw plane properly so it just go for 5-6 seconds but after seeing this video i really learned plane throwing. thanks for making this video

I made an Arrowhead (I like them) and the right wing is slightly more higher then the left.. so yeah. I suck at making paper planes symmetrical... but this video helped me! Which is good!
Folding planes symmetrically is tough! I think that's definitely the hardest part of the equation for good flight. The rest is just having a bit of knowledge on how to properly adjust the plane.
Well just saying that I suck at making airplanes and also my one is not "that" good and that just means you have to work harder to make "good" airplanes. The_Robloxian460/The_FlightMaker460

if the symmetry is bad try trying to do the first step (fold it to the bottom) and then check if its on line with each other. the hold with your right hand and try to fold with left hand then it will come nice. I tried doing this and I made a boomerang paper airplane with that.

I've found if you reverse the back crease so there's a triangle sticking out where the wings meet it pulls up a bit, so it's an easy fix if it's crashing.

You can add some down elevator (bend the wings down slightly) if your plane stalls or peaks

My paper plane noses gets crooked and maybe that's probably the problem why it gets worse and worse every good throw. I have to straighten it out, and Velocity Support wings just make too much force that it spirals and struggles to glide
