Ever since Fire got it's rework into the Phoenix Flames and Fireblast dynamic in Legion, Fire has in my opinion been the most fun damage spec in the game. The rotation just feels good and the damage is very consistent. The spec isn't always that good in PvP and it's squishy, but man it's fun. Looks to be even more fun in TWW.
As a mage main since WoD, having a stun on the same choice as DB is VERY fair, if it stays that way. My only concern is that sunfury is not accessible to frost. I’m not sure if that will cause balancing issues, giving 2/3 specs an instant stun, but we shall see.
I love the little effect around your hands when casting frost fire bolt. The visual for the spell is quite nice. But it is such a disappointment that they didn't use the original. I waited for that to come back for 10 years.
its a big deal outside of premade 3v3. In premade 3v3 you can always (and are kinda forced to) pair p with a rogue or another class with good stun locks. In duels, and most other comps, having a stun would make you less reliant on rogues
I hate what they did with the utility.. and i dont get ppl saying mage has alot of buttons. I dont think it does. I like the dmg side of the changes tho.
Been saying this ever since they rolled that PvP talent out. You basically need Glasscanon to do competetive damage, so it's a locked in talent. So you pretty much just have 15% less health than everyone else, on a spec that is already insanely squishy and always trained the entire game
@@ivartheberserker9918 99% of the people playing this game is "bad", so you make a class based around kiting properly or you will die, meanwhile you have to squeeze in your damage rotation also. It's a lot easier to pick up and play Lock or SP to a semi decent level for that reason. It's not the end of the world if melee connect on you for 2 seconds on Lock or SP. You don't fall over and die in 2 seconds. This is why you just tunnel cloth classes at lower ends of arena because you shut down 50% of their damage cause they can't play the game properly. You probably main a warrior lmfao
Dont forgrt theres a big difference between performance and fancy spell animations. Hunters definetly aren't flashy, but they never really was. Can't judge Dark Ranger by how the abilities look on alpha but yeah it's definetly a bit underwhelming. The numbers matter, not the animations
I quit fire because of combustion always being purged, rune of power limiting gameplay, and button bloat with talent abilities all of these things have been fixed in the past couple expansions so it might be time to go back, it seems like a modern spec now
When did you last play mage? I'm fully aware that Frost can be overbearing against melee at the top level when played by the best players in the game, but for the rest of us it's not that fun when you get trained the entire game and aren't able to do much because we may not have partners on comms peeling for us. Mages basically don't exist at the low and mid levels of arena.
@@placeholdername3206 Mage's kit on retail is completely overloaded with CC, it's entirely justifiable to finally turn it down. Made no sense to have like 5 different CC that were all exclusive to one spec or the other before the talent rework to all be available at the same time.
@@invictus7736 But despite the overload of CC, the prime strat in most games that involve mages is to tunnel them all game long. Even vs melee cleaves. Even at 2700+ rating. Did you notice that the only times Mages do well is when they either play with a class who can peel for them, or play with another caster who is more dangerous if left alone, like SP or Lock? Not saying mages are bad cause they definetly aren't but i wish they had more passive defenses. Like everything not being active, or dispelable stuff. I wish they were more forgiving to play and that you didn't get flatlined in literally 2 seconds if you mess up rotating your kiting tools one time.
@adrianlima2776 less cc than druid? Mages have frost nova, ice nova, ring of frost, dragons breath, polymorph, snow drift, and infinite slowing of enemy players speed (slow/frostbite etc). Druids have cyclone, roots/mass entangle, choice of bash or incapacitating roar as a choice node

Agreed, I love it. Its frenetic, fast-paced, and pure fun. Funny that people are just now realizing it.
@@5133937lol fire rotation is super boring, have to change spec after 1 season

bro, fire mage been kinda dominating in PvP since cata!
I can't see Frostfire being better than Sunfury for Fire, but man Frostfire feels incredible for Frost.
spell slinger 💀

Supa plz test is it root or stun in arcane vid
Sup supa, awesome video, made me bring my mage out of the dust to be able to check these builds out in the war within, looks sooooo fun
I loved frostfire bolt so I can't wait to ply with it again

Outside of premade 3v3 is it really a big deal if fire mage has a stun? I didnt think fire mage was that great in RBGs\Solo shuffle?

Nice video, keep it up mate. Would be cool to see Arcane as well.

Glass canon needs to be changed i think 5% hp loss would be fair. Literally got to play it baseline or do 0 dmg

Have these guys played mages they legit do not die unless you are bad

The thank you so much for frost fire review I can’t wait to play it and try it out when leveling lol looks fun
It's so wild seeing this after seeing dark ranger and the other BM one. I feel so bad for the Hunters out there 😢

I can guarantee it wont be an ele shaman.
Bring back the mage stun....
why??? they have a lot of control already, why the hell even give them a stun??? they even shall out a cs on poly like 20 sec or so....
I don't even play mage but wtf are those shared nodes lol
nice video, but you need a pop filter :D
for quel thalas supatees!!
Very cool talents and animations.
...and nothing for hunters.
I wanna main mage I'm expansion but this Def gonna get nerfed
Nerf dh blIZZARD WAKE UP
Nerf your mama
Meanwhile elemental shaman is lackluster and boring.
what is casting lol what a change from the fire mage i used to play in legion
No they don’t need compensation. In fact they didn’t need a stun. Hopefully they keep that silly amount of cc out.

all @supatease are best classses most fun haha dude the game arent new calm down
shouldnt be saying anything is the best when the xpac hasnt even fully releasd yet and you have no idea how to other classes perform.
Kinda lame that its not coming out until December, all these vids make me wanna play again but the current state of retail pvp is just too stale
The expansion is coming out August 26th
Yeah like mages need more cc lol
Did you watch the video? They aren't getting more CC, they are all choice nodes so you get to pick between different kids of CC.
I mean, theyre literally the only class in the game that doesnt have a stun, the single most important CC for pvp
