It even had a slow leaking radiator and I would have to pull over sometimes and pour stop leak in it. And mind you I'm a girl, not some guy who this was very easy for. I loved my car because I worked hard for it, and I learned about the engine. I would read what people say a little more carefully. Because it is a huge investment to take on a car in knowledge just as much as monetarily. No, it is not going to gain value unless it is something vintage or odd like that. But there are different definitions of investment. Example, two people who engage in a marriage are investing in each other for the rest of their lives to be by each other's side. That's all I have to say about this, and I hope everyone who agrees or doesn't agrees will live a happy life and be happy for others when they get nice things. The key to children getting cars is the parents teaching their children the knowledge of owning a car as well.

My grandparents gave a car to my cousin and sister at their 18th birthday. When it was my turn they said could not afford it but grandfather had a Toyota celica said we can share it loved the car. He got into a accident totaled the car probably would still have it today

Made me value my car even more. Now that I’m older I understand why and I’m glad they did the way they did. I gave both of my kids their 1st car but they pay insurance, gas and all maintenance.
My dad kept $5 of my allowance for years and when i turned 15( 39 now) my dad came home with a 1980 firebird and said this is why i saved your allowance and threw me the keys .I left tire marks in the driveway 5 mins later lol

So far as I can remember I paid all of my car costs and insurance and I've been through quite a few cars. If I'm correct, you've got a couple of years before you can drive legally with more than one person under the age of 18 in the car.
