I've always had faith in what I like to call the self evident thing. If people are too lazy to do any level of basic research on allegations. Their opinions don't matter because they're working with allegation and no confirmed facts. Now if everyone practiced this. No one would ever give these idiots a platform. Because all parties that can be taken seriously are all working with confirmed facts and sharing information and shifting stances and opinions as fits their beliefs and reality. I'm reminded of a couple of examples that actually did change, and did complete 180s to what they had been known for: Malcolm X, and former Governor of Arkansas George Wallace.
Malcolm X was an avowed black supremacist that was also Muslim. He changed his views after realizing Dr. Martin Luther King was right -- and said as much in interviews before his death.
Governor George Wallace was racist at a time in the South when racism was not nearly as scorned as it is now. He was the governor, who, in the 1950s, rejected the Supreme Court ruling in Brown v Board of Education and would not allow the "Little Rock Nine" to be integrated into an all-white school. George Wallace even blocked the doors to the school as the National Guard escorted those children into the school. Later, George Wallace realized what he believed was wrong, and attended a black Arkansas Southern Baptist church until his death. He was later recorded as saying, "I was wrong for what I believed" in an interview.
The point is, people who make up lies and hate for no reason, can change. I just pointed out two famous examples of that happening. But at the same time, it, like addiction, alcoholism, or any other mental illness or struggle, will only change when people who suffer from hate and lie about people want to change. The second part is that people who do those things have to be genuine and sincere when they do change. Otherwise, it shows even more their true colors, and at the same time, destroys trust.
The problem we have is that way too many people believe things that just aren't so. And as a result, lose whatever tenuous grasp on reality they may have had at one time.
Even the worst of us can change for the better. It's rare, but it does happen, and that fact at least gives me hope...

I've always had faith in what I like to call the self evident thing.
If people are too lazy to do any level of basic research on allegations. Their opinions don't matter because they're working with allegation and no confirmed facts.
Now if everyone practiced this. No one would ever give these idiots a platform. They would go off into obscurity and nothing will happen. Because all parties that can be taken seriously are all working with confirmed facts and sharing information and shifting stances and opinions as fits their beliefs and reality.
But for the most part people will WAIT and fence sit and investigate before coming to any kind of conclusion. And exposed liars would be the ones cancelled not the alleged/slandered.
Its a quantity over quality thing with these people though and that's the problem. I agree that you don't research things you should not even interact but that doesn't seem to be the way things work.
That's all well and good unless the facts are being censored as hate speech or misinformation by the state or megacorporations and what's being fed to the masses is propaganda.
