I moved to New York for 2 months in spring alone to do my fashion internship and honestly its such a great city to go and explore alone, this vlog is gonna make me miss it so much I feel it!!

Another lovely vlog and NYC is a perfect place for Swifties and Gossip Girl fans like myself. I wasn't sure of the Blackpool reference, but if you mean that Coney Island seems run down and far out of its time, then you are correct. Generally the season ends at US Labor Day, which is the first weekend in September. We went years ago with a family friend who grew up spending his summers in Brooklyn, back when it was safe for a 10 year old child to board the bus to Coney Island and spend the day with newfound friends who were doing the same (this would have been the mid-70's, I think). There is a free view of the immensity of Manhattan when coming from LaGuardia airport, as one approaches the Triborough (?) Bridge. The view always both thrills and terrifies me, having read my dad's Judge Dredd comic books as a child and imagining things like "how do they even schedule trash collection in a city so large?" as Grandmaster Flash's "New York, New York" ("too much - too many people - too much!") rattles through my head. I love the museums and the parks and the food carts and the corner fruit stands (bodegas now?) but ultimately I'm a country girl, I fear...:)
This is honestly such a coincidence bc I always have like phases in which I'm kinda obsessed with a place I really wanna go to and watch videos and shows set there etc and atm it's NYC I dream of going. And I literally watched all your old NY vlogs like 2 weeks ago so when I saw on IG you're going to NY again I was like nooo way 😂

@@bolorchimegchuluunbaatar4727hi for me personally it was ok I tried to be careful in public transports as metro or even walking (take care of your belongings because the pickpockets -in Europe it’s been crazy about this at the moment)! Also I stayed in a hostel near Central Park to not travel too long or far away from the center! And I never stayed out until to late in the evening! If you go to Times Square never answer the people who are asking for pictures with costumes as Minnie Mickey or cowboys or whatever they are dressed because after they will ask you for money! Try to not use too much your phone or camera on your hands in the streets! Enjoy your time there! 😊
I am DESPERATE to watch the cursed child! Not sure how buzzing I am about the plot either but it sounds like a fantastic experience. Also love new York ❤️ what a fantastic opportunity for you!
I think the classic places for solo travel are often backpacker locations (Australia, or interrailing spots for example) but if you want somewhere closer to home I think any city in the UK is a good start, London is a good one! Paris & Amsterdam too! But anywhere that has a big young person crowd!x
Really, the only time you'll get approached will be on Times Square, if you go, people trying to sell you pics, CD's or bracelets. Walking and taking the subway always worked for me😊
Oooh I have a question about the Cursed Child play, I’ve seen it in London … but it’s in 2 parts, and it’s 5 hours ish…. So what is missing on Broadway? How can they remove 1.5 hours?
This year they condensed it down for some cities around the world so it’s shown as a single 3.5 hour show instead of the 2 part show 😊 I think they did it for broadway and the Australian production too!

I did use TodayTix yessss, I paid about $60 for the cursed child tickets and nearer $130 for Hamilton - both soo much more than the West End but I do think it was worth it!
Random question but what curlers do you use? When I went to nyc my straighteners and curlers kept cutting out because apparently our voltage is higher than the US so the electric cuts out when we plug certain things in😅
I've used the same Paul Mitchell 3 in 1 curlers for YEARS and they've always worked the same in every country which is amazing - although I did have that problem with my straightners, my GHDs didn't get NEARLY as hot!

This reminds me of my solo trip to nyc back in April🥹 going back in January on a uni trip because I can’t get enough of this city!!

It's a bit late in the season to get proper Coney Island vibes. It's more alive in the summer months, all the kiosks on the boardwalk are open.
I want to go here and Las Vegas too. But Chicago next up. Looks so fun.

I went to NYC from October 9th and 16th. On my own. Travel solo from Portugal! I also went to see the Harry Potter Theater and I loved!
