Stella’s so pretty I don’t know why she pulls her hair out and I think she did great at her doctor with her wellness check and her flu shot with no tears

My niece did exactly this when her new baby sister arrived. She would pull out her hair and find cotton from inside toys and rub it over her nose. My sister made sure she told her to stop if she saw her doing it during the day and eventually she grew out of the hair pulling. However even now (she’s 15 now) she likes to twiddle fluff when she is stressed!!
Try not to make too much fuss about it, just tell her no if you see her doing it and distract her. She WILL grow out of it eventually.

Pulling out hair can be an anxiety issue. I know a few people adults and kids that do that. With so much going on and being little like her it may just be hard to express how she feels. Maybe try also not mentioning her hair pulling to her for a while also.
Yes best to just use hair nets and pull hair up and move her hands away. Keep it low key
It's not anxiety I did it when I was little it's just like something little one's do to sooth them but they do grow out of it

I love Stella's boots! I'm glad you got some answers for Stella at the doctors. That's awesome Stella loves the doctors, even the blood pressure machine. She is so brave getting the shot with no crying or anything. I love Stella's bow, so cute. Hope the occupational therapist gets more answers. Enjoy the ice cream and no school day Wednesday!! I don't know why but I have always rubbed my arms on my face round my nose been doing it since I was little, and still do it 45 years later. I just find it comforting
I used to pull my eyelashes out when I was little and what helped me was my mother made a sticker chart and I would get a sticker everyday I didn’t pull them, and at the end of the week if I had more than 5 stickers I would get a treat. And it worked pretty well so maybe you should try with Stella!

It is stress and anxiety...Being so young, they have no way to express how they feel. Some kids bite, wet the bed, curl their hair, pull out their hair, regress on learned experiences. My son started to curl his hair at age 3... We had just moved to a new house and he had a shift in his OT. When he was 4 and 1/2, his dad died very suddenly and the curling of the hair came back full force. I had to leave his curl on the top of his head alone or he would never sleep. He is now 11 and will still curl his curl when stressed out. I have learned to ignore it. The less I talked about it, the less he did it.

This is a huge sign of anxiety. I think therapy is a really good idea. I did stuff like this as a kid and it only progressed, I wish I would have gone to therapy as a child

Poor Stella, Hope she gets better. She seemed pretty happy to spend 1 on 1 with you. It could be her being anxious about being alone in a room or being away from a parent and doesn’t know how to express it. It’s most likely stress and anxiety. Many kids bite, punch, hit, wet the bed, pull their hair, twist their hair - that’s exactly what she does. Truly hope you find a solution

Chelsea i have a tip on Stella's hair for a ponytail. When you get it up in a ponytail take a toothbrush that has never been used on a tooth and take any kind of gel and get some on a toothbrush and keep doing it until all the hair is up. And I gave someone this advice and it worked for them. And I wouldn't use it on a tooth after you use the gel. And by the way I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!

Shes getting to old🥺(edit: my little sister had the same problem, we were so worried too, my doctor was just saying that she was doing it because she was bored and according from the doctor, it was her age. It was happening for about 2 months so not very long, hope she can soon get some more suggestions) lots of love from Australia❤️

The hats she wears when she sleeps, i think are helping her a little bit, but it is not good for her to keep doing this, because if she just keeps pulling, and pulling, and pulling, then eventually, she will not have any hair left, and that is going to be very bad. :( I hope you guys figure it out.
