This was so helpful and worth my time, thanks! Just found a method I prefer. Steps: left-click on anchor, right-click anchor before menu pops up, left-clicking Harvest as menu pops up. Discards, skips the menu, and replaces net - from anywhere instead of just the left-side 🎉
A faster way to drift net is to hold down the escape button when discarding and replacing the nets. The bank menu instantly closes and discards the fish when you hold down escape. The nets also gets replaced instantly without the menu if you hold down escape. I just put something heavy on the escape button. You just have to release the button when banking to annette otherwise the menu closes instantly.
Just stumbled across your guides. Wasn't even searchin', was just recommended by youtube. Loved and watched 'em all. Please keep 'em up, you're now my new fav guide man. 😅
If you go in with flippers on, you can change back to full graceful and and keep running/swimming and skip the stamina potions. Use pufferfish or quickly put on diving gear to get back to 100% oxygen
@@kingkaruulm would love some updated efficient 2023 skilling guides, especially with multiple training methods! For buyables could be cheap routes, medium balanced routes (GP EXP wise) and then fast methods!
Hey man, killer video again! One thing I forgot to add to my last comment that you’re already doing is include some Ironman stuff! Just started one up and appreciate you keeping that in mind!
Never played an IM but I'd like to some day. Love to theory craft ways of doing things that way, so I'll be sure to include any thoughts on how irons could also participate in content!
I really like drift net fishing. it's pretty chill and good exp, especially for hunter which kinda sucks at low-mid levels. I've found the best and easiest method it just to work my way from one net to the other poking all of the fish along the way and then go back to the middle if neither net is full yet. the fish eventually work their way into the nets if you poke them but if you just focus on the ones in front of the net they'll accumulate in the middle area and slow you down eventually.
Me too! I personally find myself doing herbiboar and barbarian fishing as both are a little more chill, but this is definitely a nice method for extra exp!
I think I may have recreated your issue by accident. Make sure you're under 28kg when you equip the trident or harpoon, and make sure that your character is able to run around (animation should be swimming, but 2 tiles per tick). Then, and only then, go to Annette and unnote your nets. If you have the unnoted nets in your inventory or something else bringing you above 28kg, then equipping the harpoon may stop you from swimming.
Am I doing something wrong? I'm getting 75k hunter xp and 57k fishing xp per hour at 73 hunter and 73 fishing, I'm clicking this fish as fast as I can and hitting escape on the nets and going as fast as I can.
That's very strange. I think at those levels you should be getting somewhere in the realm of 50-70k for fishing and about 80k-90k for hunter. Are you using a trident or dragon harpoon? That massively increases the chances that the fish shoals go into the nets.
Check the other comments on this video for specifics, but if I recall correctly, the order in which you do things matters as well as your character's net weight. (Check in equipment stats)
Yeah just make sure you're in the drift net area with the flippers on and click through to equip it. Your character will begin moving to an upright walking position but then swim again. If he doesn't swim again (has happened to me once or twice) it doesn't matter. The difference between walking and swimming is only cosmetic. The flippers help you move at running speed and that's what's important. Just make sure you don't equip a weapon in the deeper waters because I think that can kill you.
Not to my knowledge, I was getting regular exp here on my alt a few days ago. Might try resetting your tracking while you're in the area and then going for a little while to see how it does.

The experience scales with your fishing level, so the boost can actually increase your experience rates. It's not a large increase, but before level 70 fishing the dragon harpoon will be the definitive best option. Hope that helps!

Idk what you're trying to do exactly but I just tried it again, it works. (7/1/23) Don't equip it until AFTER you're underwater, go into the area with empty hands. Then, equip it. A message will probably appear. Click that you'll take the risk and wield it and don't swim into the deep water. (You can't without exiting the drift net area anyways) You can use the spec for a fishing level boost and it works as a trident as well.

Fuck that bs, I'd rather keep oxygen tank on and use stams w endurance ring
This is.. perfect! Exactly what i need! I needa train these 2 skills for hard western diary.
Can you do a video on the thieving/agility method please King?
:)
I love your channel mate, watching from Australia!
Thanks! Love to hear it! Any suggestions for future videos?

Thanks! Are there any guides you'd like me to make soon?
Hallowed Sepulchre mayhaps?
I'd love a Shades of Morton guide. Hate WT and would love to see how to do Shades optimally to get firemaking exp up (albeit slower exp).
really enjoy the format of your guides, keep up the good work man :D subbbeddddd
Going to do this to 70 Hunter for my SOTE requirements! Thanks again mate, great content as always
I really appreciate that! Good luck on SOTE!

really good vids/guides

Very nice guide! Side tip, make sure you are under 28 kg, if not you cannot swim! Stay cool!
This may be the issue with why people thought I was wrong. That's hugely helpful!
Thank you for the guide! Im going for xp all they to 80 or 85 before i work in making gp😅
Yeah buddy! Good luck!
I’m only getting 63xp per fish, but you’re getting over 170+xp however I’m not wearing flippers, doesn’t flippers give xp boost? Please help
I don't believe that the flippers give you an xp boost. The xp per fish does depend on your hunter and fishing levels, though.
Seems like pretty decent xp, I think I'll give it a try!
Let me know how it goes!
Please do that exta video for obtaining trident.
I'll add it to the list!
Pressing escape doesn't exit the fish menu, any suggestions?
Check the pinned comment.
Why I can’t swim while equipping my trident? Seems like I’m the only one who can’t. I gotta unequip to swim

Are you prioritizing the ones past the line? The ones farther from the net aren't as likely to swim in when you poke 'em.
62 hunter and 60 fishing. I chase the fish constantly and am only getting 20k-40k xp per hour per skill

I’m wondering if the flippers give xp boost
kinda skipped over where to get the drift nets from but otherwise good guide
My bad lol I just bought them from the GE, didn't think too much about ironman on that part. I believe you can make them on a loom with Jute Fibres.
am using same gear as shown, but why am i walking under water and not swimming ???

why wont it let me hopld the infernal harpoon with this? it says I wont be able to swim with it..

I hit escape instead of clicking trash, it works well, just another method.
I've done this before, but the last time I tried it, nothing happened. It might be a plugin that allows escape to close menus?
does Crystal Harpoon work as well?
I think so, but it shouldn't consume charges. I think it'd just be the same as using a dragon harpoon.

at 80 fishing and 90 hunter

whats the name of the plugin/>
Just 'Drift Net'. I believe it comes on Runelite by default, just disabled until you enable it.

3 manta ray and 3 sea turtles doesnt make up for a drift net, thats not good math
