The shoulder pads not locking is actually accurate to his appearance in the films, they moved around quite a bit whenever he moved his shoulders. Granted, they probably could have been a little tighter, but giving him the extra articulation is pretty cool and super accurate!
They get minus points because they mounted the arms to them. The chest bits were never attached to them
Here's hoping for a MPM Ratchet. I'm really growing sick of the 2007 voyager figure, it's about time we got a much better mold.

The panels on the back of his biceps are somewhat accurate at least. They shouldn’t have the windshield there but the detailing is where it’s supposed to be

You know the fix for his arms is out. There is a tab behind the tire/wheel and it tabs to his shoulder so it doesn’t move
Will keep my eye out for those tabs when I get him.. eventually

Transformers are just complicated pieces of engineering and I like it 😍
this one is just a fail
it calls MPM for a reason, a MPM is expensive as hell and shouldn't have those issues. Unique Toys is the real MPM, their products look even better, perfect transformation and FUN to play with. To behonest Hasbro and Takara are just way behind 3rd parties now.
You're not wrong. I have a couple third parties and they blow Hasbro products of the same price out of the water in terms of detail and quality.
Hoang Luxius but hasbro and Takara design the molds first. Companies add two tabs and some paint and everyone act like they made the figure. The ko figures are definitely better but they use the main brands design.

mpm-03 was great tbh
After watching the JTI and understanding how to make the vehicle transformation less fiddly, I think this is actually my favorite MPM that I own. I also have a KO MPM-4 and MPM-13 but ironhide looks so good in both modes and his transformation steps are pretty fun, even if it resists you a little.
The tab on his wrist actually locks in the slot (14:09) the hinges between the forearm and vehicle door/window should not sit flush, need to raise panel a little bit angle it forward towards the wrist then push, the tab will lock in the slot, this will lock his panel. Hope this helps.

KO companies get way too much credit for what they do. Which is steal designs and “improve them” slightly and then everyone acts like it’s the best thing ever.

I adore my Legendary Toys Bumblebee and Optimus. I'm hoping that they not only give this guy their premium deco, but also try to solve some of the issues that this has.

The weird thing is that this version of Ironhide was voiced by the guy who currently voices Crash Bandicoot
It's like finding out the guy who voices Jotaro Kujo in JJBA (the current series not the 80's one) also voiced Leon Kennedy in RE6 and a bunch of other characters

Fixed mines arm/wrist tab problem. Took a tiny pointed file and filed in the lower ledge in the the tab hole. It now pops in without needing to buy the third party option
Is the most proportion version so far, specially the head. Totally gonna get the fix mold of these mold XD.

That piece your calling a flaw is actually like that on the real trucks. Its saposed to simulate a scoop. So you did it right and it looks good man. Good job

I just saw a redesigned, OS version of this guy for preorder, over at Showz. If yhey fixed the "chest issues" and im thinking they did. He might be worth checking out. They also engineered it, somehow, to fit the cannons INTO the transformation. They now sit inside the cab, behind thr windshield. If you like this guy but want an upgraded version, it just might be worth looking into. Im hoping Em gets one so he can show us how awesome its gonna be lol.
Emgo you did get a fairly good copy. I posted a video showing the difference in quality of my two from Amazon and it's pretty crazy.
I pointed this out on PrimevsPrime's video, but the logic behind leaving the shoulders floating is that they're more movie accurate that way. in the movie they move with his arms not in a stationary position. Does that mean they're good shoulders? no

I was unfortunately hit with a bit of tragedy with my recent purchase of this figure: the tab coming out of the inner side of the right half of the front of the car snapped when I tried to get it to tab into the center piece of the hood that folds up into the chest in robot mode. It's now hanging by a thread. I wasn't even that forceful when I tried pushing things in together and getting it to just tab the Hell in. I had the same issue with the roof not tabbing into the frame of the rear window but I was able to get it to snap into place until I had to just tend to all the other things. I guess the former problem might actually make the transformation easier (in which case I'll just slice off the other tab) but just the fact that this happened really has me wondering what on earth the designers of these MPM figures are thinking when they go into the testing stages to see if it actually works.
I had some issues with Camaro Bee but I fixed it recently and VW Bee is alright despite having a pretty tough transformation. I've had no problems with Barricade and Prime thankfully hasn't broken anywhere but I have found it incredibly difficult to transform him as well but at least I was able to pretty much finish his transformation unlike Ironhide who I didn't quite make it with.

I have the Armored Warrior upscale of this, and it looks amazing, but because it's upscaled it doesn't fit the scaling of my Black Apple Prime, which is the more correct scale for the MPM Prime and I don't know why in the eff TT didn't have it at that more proper scale. Just because of the scale alone in alt modes, I'm considering getting the official MPM Ironhide at some point.
bought it. this one is with so many details left for you to paint... but its posability is so low kinda like mpm05 barricade....

Not a bad figure, paint seems to be fine (maybe a bit more for the gun detailing?), my only real gripe is the arms, those panels are horrible, especially due to the fact they don't seem to tab in securely.
His shoulder have some pecs! I 've just became mine and there are some plugs behind the bumper, behind the gmc logo and grill.
I need this in my life!!! Ironhide was my favorite in the movies. Too bad I’m broke.
I don't understand why they made his arms come out of the back off the shoulders instead of where the front tyres are in robot mode
The lack of locking points for the arms is a deal breaker for me; limbs that don't is my #1 no-no for TFs. It's as if it was designed by two different people - one top, one bottom. Great review though, Emgo.
Wow, so I commented awhile back on the new (black Apple design) ko masterpiece Ironhide that's now out. And I have to say, the things it actually fixes and just does better, not counting the RIDICULOUS screen accuracy is just phenomenal compared to this. I was really hoping Em would buy it before me so I could get an idea of it first but alas. 😂 That didn't happen. I'm still hoping you'll pick one up man, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I personally love it. It is a tad different in what they used plastics wise, but after transforming mine, easily 10 times, I see why they did it, no clearance issues. Anyway, I'm holding out hope on seeing a review on the M-06 KO os Ironhide at some point. Keep on chugging my man, love your content.

Do you have any tips for folding the arms In, because on mine it takes several minutes to do that part and then the hood part one of them won’t tab in all the way. It’s so easy to transform from truck to robot but vice versa is extremely difficult.

after seeing this review, I kind of prefer the Studio Series Voyager version surprisingly. I like the proportions better, the canons look better on his arms and his truck pecks locks in. A part from the lack of paint, the ugly bumper abdomen and less pose-ability, which the MP is superior on those regards, it's a really solid Ironhide toy.
