I know this is an incredibly late reply, but you can view the upcoming events for mounted shooting at cmsaevents.com under the "events" tab. You can filter it to only shoots that are happening near you and you can find out when they are! They happen all over the U.S. all year long and also in Canada!
They're black powder blanks. Black powder burns slower than modern smokeless and is still on fire within 15-18 feet. The burning embers pop the balloon.
@@hoodlum4511 Exceptional demonstration of horse and weapon skills. Too bad that in communist countries good citizens can't have weapons... only criminals can. that's portuguese!
What will you people come up with next. This is horrible. Shooting a gun near the horses head, forcing the horses head down with a martingale and using long shanked bits. These horses will all be deaf at a very young age..
@Melcop1886 Don't tell me to relax. The horse has a martingale on. Therefore, the horse can't even respond, to that noise, if it wanted to. So putting spongey balls inside their ears, is what you call protection?
Yeah it doesnt really happen at rodeos. Mounted shooting usually has separate events across the country because some of them can take several days to get all the riders through all of the courses/classes available. BUT mounted shooters like to spread awareness about the sport through expos (which is what this is). They arent true competitions but theyre more like a sneak peak at how the sport works!
The one-handed over the shoulder lever gun shot is one of the coolest things ive ever seen
wow, very cool - greetings from Germany
Just found out about this sport!!! LOVE IT!!! Wish I knew what firearms they were using...
Well it's a revolver and a lever action gun just like back in wild west
Single action revolvers chambered in .45 long colt and the lever action rifles are also in .45 long colt
I have just got to do this before I die!
little house guy I do it there are trainers all over America
Man I have to agree with Little House Guy. sometime I would love to try. Shooting from horseback what could be better.
Podia ter este esporte aqui no Brasil
I wish I could clap with them! thats insane. To shoot objects so close while going so fast, and the objects so small.
Is long range mounted shooting possible?

Can anyone translate this. All i heard was communist and that is as far I could understand

The horses are directed by body language if you look close, the bit is hardly used. The rider and horse have hearing protection, so relax Skippy!

@outoftime7740 lol....Guess what, people have been putting spongy balls in their ears for many years, they're called ear plugs and they work!
Just pinging off rounds into the crowd
It's blank
I believe they are the Wax competition rounds I've seen around
Rodeo don't want this as an event .It is more of a show between the real Rodeo events !

I wanna do that that looks like alot of fun. Do they doo that at the rodeos if not they should
Looks like alot of fun to shoot off a gun near a horses head, forcing their heads down. You people suck who support this crap
