Went there 3 years ago before they put up the fencing. I was stationed there twice, once to learn Morse Code then again years later to teach it. This place was so important to the security of this country. Now is left to wither away. Would have been nice to repurpose it to keep the building up to date. The Barracks will be brought down soon but with keeping the Museum intact which was my old Company C. Went to Devens Day this year (2022) and was a lot of fun also with bringing back memories.

Shame this post was sacrificed to BRAC because the MA delegation didn't have any motivation to keep an active duty military base in the state. Yeah, yeah, Natick labs and the teeny-tiny postage stamp sized patch of Ft Devens that remains federal land. What a shame. Spent a career there between active duty and reserves. Best post in the Army. Gone, and the remainder trashed.

Me and my friends use to walk in these abandoned buildings and throw small party’s now they have completely closed and fenced it off. I see coyotes there now multiple family’s living inside beautiful buildings shame to see them deteriorate.

Sad to see - did 33Y training and my BNCOC there... raised and lowered the flag there many times.

If a similar video could be done of the 'core area' of the old base, that would be great. But then, I don't think base security would be too happy with a drone overflying the restricted-access areas.
