This DPF problem occurred in my new i20 also. It was run thrice a week for 110kms daily at a speed of 60 to 70 kmph. After a month of traveling, when I completed 2200kms this DPF symbol appeared on my instrument cluster.
DPF regeneration is not a very big headache to be worried much unless you neglect it for a long time. As soon as your car's MID shows.... "DPF regeneration required, see owners manual".....Drive for some 20 to 25 kms at 3rd gear at a speed above 60kmph. Then if the DPF indicator is still on in the instrument cluster, then just park your car in a open space, turn on the engine and switch on the headlight at high beam and turn on the A/C at full blower speed and open the bonnet. Then just select self regeneration on the MID, by pressing the Ok button or the dedicated DPF button,( if you don't have both, then turn on and off the key continuously for 5 times and switch on the car).
Keep the car running for 30 min and the regeneration process will be completed and your problem will be solved.
My car took 27min to self regenerate.

In BS6 cars even in petrol engine this problem exists. Even in the service manual that he showed it was mentioned that in case of petrol the car needs to run at 80KMPH or more to clean up the filter which is more difficult in daily driving conditions than driving at 60KMPH.

Had same issue with my Hyundai Venue 1.5 diesel BS6 (Kia engine).
DPF light first came around 10,000 kms
Cleared by high rpm highway driving.
DPF issue came again around 17,000 kms
Had to clear at service center because highway driving se gaya nahi.
Hyundai says it’s because of BS4 fuel that has more sulphur content. They recommend BS6 fuel so frequency of the problem will reduce. No BS6 diesel in pumps yet, only posters.
Edit: I am not facing the issue anymore. Completed 48,000 kms. I think it is due to BS6 fuel in pumps now.

Not higher speeds but 60- 70 kmph at 2nd or 3rd gear so that engine revs increases and enough heat generates to burn out soot collected in DPF.

@Arun panvar. Jab Engine light temporary fault ki vajah se aata hai, 2 driving cycles katam karke theesra baar gaadi chalu karoge, tho automatically hat jati hai. Ye actually procedure hai ki do driving cycle me phir se problem na aaye tho automatically nikal jati hai

Arun Diesel cars are the best. Your getting engine sign because you need to change the engine airfilter.
DPF LED which you are getting just keep it in neutral and raise the accelerator for 3000rpm for 10 min, DPF light blinking will go. In some of the cars you will be having a DPF button.

I think this is because the engine is bs6 compliant and diesel sold all over is still bs4... once you start using bs6 diesel in bs6 engine. This dpf problem should Go away. Anyway I’m not a expert this, just a guess.
