Classic Game Room reviews KING OF THE MONSTERS 2 for SNES from Takara released in 1993. Based on the 1992 SNK Neo-Geo game, King of the Monsters 2 makes moderate changes to the gameplay seen in King of the Monsters 1 by adding side scrolling beat 'em up sections and weirder levels. Choose one of three monsters like Cyber Woo and crush buildings in cities around the planet Earth while battling random foes and eventually encountering massive boss battles!! CGR King of the Monsters 2 video review features King of the Monsters 2 Super Nintendo game play in HD action. King of the Monsters 2 is also available on the Neo-Geo and Sega Genesis (aka Sega Mega Drive). Players can play single player against the SNES or play cooperatively or competitively 2 player. - บันเทิง
Cyber Woo is in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. In case you're interested in having him fight some King of Fighters characters.
I liked the side scrolling sections it gave you chance to get power ups before the bosses. My brother and I played this game non stop till we finally could beat it. Then we kept doing so was great game from my childhood.
Big smile from me when you were poping in the cartridge. Thanks for the upload, keep it up CGR!!! THANKS!!!
I'm not even interested in these games, but I subscribed to this channel because I love this guy's sense of humour.
I have been following you since I was young and I am 24 now. You are my favorite reviewer of ALL TIME
I still have scars on my thumbs from all the times rubbing back and forth on the d-pad during those boss fights when I was 6. XD
This was the absolute perfect game to rent back when I was a kid because, between all the trial and error, you could beat it in a couple of days with spread out playing time.
I never found a problem with the side scrolling stages because you were a big monster picking on a lot of little guys that were simply a nuisense, but then you got into the boss fights where you did have to memorize patterns and react quickly. Not a lot to the game, but it was a lot of fun for how short it was.
I didn't know the Grand Canyon was in California. Cool. See you can learn a lot about geography from these old games.. very educational!
This game for the SNES was developed for Takara by Now Production Co., Ltd. (NOWPRO).
Its scary how accurate transcribing is on Mark's Videos.
I always found it funny in these kind of games that the good guy does more damage to the city than the enemies do.
It is eerie that this game has the WTC but I am glad they kept it with the re release.
Awesome! I remember this was a challenge on GamesMaster
Happy Birthday!!!!!
I remember renting this game from my childhood! I love it!
1st thing to note is the Genesis version is not the same. Its a one-on-one fighter which is not as good in this case. The falling from the sky scene in the Neo Geo version is a chance to grab power-ups,. The SNES Tornado is weak. as is many parts of the SNES version in comparison to the Neo Geo version. Bosses are smaller and the 2nd boss is supposed to scale bigger as you hit him, The SNES version drops many effects from the original . KOM2 is available on the Neo Geo CD, MVS, & AES.
Cyber Woo is also in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum as a smaller version of himself.
They should come out and make a third game, evan if just a small project.
King of the monsters 3? Yes please!!
I was such a huge fan of this game.
:o I love how you speak sir.
@Rackdar That's because in Rampage the whole point was to destroy the buildings, not fighting.
Dude you live in Harrisburg,PA? Thats awesome! You should go to RetroCon in Oaks this weekend.
Mark you should do sequel games right after more often. It's so much easier to see where you're coming from when you refer to the first in the series
Ah i love that shirt. Its so retro.
I felt the same way about Rampage. We'd start the fight and immediately start climbing building and bashing in windows. The fighting was an afterthought.
You're right about the developers knowing a lot about America Mark. According to them, the Grand Canyon is in California instead of Arizona! (3:59)
looks like old version of War of the Monsters for ps2 loved that game
This version of the game is much, MUCH easier than the Neo Geo version. In this game the grabs are less random.
Cyber Woo is Awesome!! I also have the Genesis port!
i was hacking the original neo geo rom. FUN FACT there are actually unused sprites for GIANT FROGGER where he breaks off the statue of liberty from it's platform holds it up like a torch as a joke and proceeds to use it as a weapon. Poking you with it and slamming it down on to you. I think this enemy feature was removed because it might have seemed too offensive to americans....using the symbol of freedom and peace to beat the crap out of you. I'm not even joking.
Is there a site or somewhere on the internet where I can find those sprites?
It looks pretty amazing for it's time....
I see that Mark is wearing a Master System shirt in an SNES review...
That'd be a fun movie: King Kong vs. CYBER WOO!!!!!
The Game Over screen is still terrifying, the catchy jingle didn't help either.
I don't think Chuck Norris can down a 40 as fast as Mark.
Chuck Norris can do that while chopping wood with the other hand
Funny enough, this isn't the only game with Mount Rushmore in the Grand Canyon! Remember Cruisin' USA?
0:15 Is that a wireless controller adapter on the front of your SNES?
If so, I want one!
He said in some videos he isn't a big RPG fan. I think TJ could possibly review them, the GB/GBC ones are great!
*smiles* those were the days weren't they? All good systems for their time.
I love SNES reviews !
More pls : thnx !
Ahhhh............ Nostalgia : )
Cyber Woo is a spin off character from Ultraman, name of Woo!
I need that master system shirt!
co-op was in KoM 1 on MVS.
I flip-flopped between Cyber Woo and Atomic Guy since my brother took Super Geon every single time. We both love Godzilla, but he is older than me, so he outranks me for that.
Mark is the Chuck Norris of video games
Thx for the review.. This just made me look back n wonder what I was "smoking", to think it was such a great game... Sighs.. Maybe just lack of choice back then...
Cool
Hello from Anacortes.. most of the people where I am had a NES.. so it looks like it was VERY regional.. :D (I had an atari myself..:P )
Haha. I'm from Harrisburg, and we don't have any buildings nearly that tall.
You're not destroying all the buildings, argh my OCD can't handle this!!!
I played the Neo Geo Version of "The King of the Monsters 2" and I have to say it is pretty difficult, like almost everytime my opponent is grabbing me over and over and over... do you know, what I have to press while my opponent is grabbing me?!
Cool looks like a decent game. I wonder how it is on the Genesis.
dangit, now i feel slightly compelled to send in my genesis copy of the game
Me too!
My neighbor and I played the shit out of this game back in the day!
danm, i always think marc is reviewing KING OF FIGHTERS when im reading the headline ...
For reference. The Sega version is a fighting game.
how do you make/who makes the songs for your intro?
Same here :)
Can you do the genesis version? It's a fighting game instead of a beat em up in that version.
I have both games!
Dude lighten up, Mark is Awsome
Forget Cyber Woo I wanna be Super Geon!
I rarely play as anyone else.
Apparantly the Grand Canyon is in north California, not in Arizona... seems legit!
Wait... Were those Thunderbird 2 lookalikes in the french stage, dropping yellow mechs? 0_o Lol.
1:26 um looks like that dinosaur has a grabbing problem O.o
Has Mark ever reviewed any of the classic Pokemon games? Mark if not add some to your list! :O
I have to say this too. Wheres our King of the Monsters Godzilla??
King of the Monsters 2: Electric Cyber Woo
i want more Gettysburg monuments
Never played this one, but it doesnt look early as awesome as the first.
I think I played this game somewhere.
I can't get HD back on my phone after update syy
Grand Canyon in California? Hmmm never realized lol.

No...Mark IS Chuck Norris.
Whatever happened to Takara, video game company?
I still have blister scars on my thumb from those grapples
LMFAO CYBER WOOO
If King of the Monsters 2 isn´t enough, try War of the Monsters for the PS2 =: P
there's like 3 monsters how is that not a gigantic problem?
Actually it pronounced differently
Some say Geedra others (like me) say King Gidorah
uh this game reminds me of Ultraman for the snes
I played this with my brother all the time. We spent more time destroying the city than actually fighting each other.
Rampage-style🔥•===•*🦖
its King GE-Dora
ermahgerd! ferternth!
