- Over the past few seasons, Archer transformed itself into something resembling an anthology series, revolving less around the day-to-day missions at the spy agency formerly-known-as ISIS, and instead focusing on “themed seasons,” with self-contained arcs and different versions of the main cast each season. The show’s tenth season, 1999, premieres tomorrow, and follows Archer, Lana, and the rest of the team onboard the M/V Seamus salvage ship. We went to WonderCon to speak with the cast-that’s H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, Aisha Tyler, Chris Parnell, Amber Nash, Jessica Walter, and Lucky Yates-and find out which of the many versions of their characters has been the most fun to play.

I can’t believe how little they change their voices for the characters, I would recognize all of them if I overheard them on the street.

Literally all of them except Pam's (whose VA uses a higher register) just use their regular voices. It was so weird hearing Carol's VA sound just like her.

Ah, I really liked most of the eras they've covered so far. Hopefully we can have a coma-year now and then.
The coma was the only reason i stopped watching after season 7. I liked the 1st dream a little bit because lots of barry and krieger, but not so much the jungle season. I still havent watched the space one yet

Season 5 (Vice) was outright best but I also love Season 10 in space... but dammit, the whole series is spectaular!

It’s actually amazing that almost all of them just use their normal voices in the show

The fact they realized they had to throw out all the ISIS memorabilia made my laugh. I’m glad they noticed before it was too late.

Two favourite moments would be 1. In Russia walking through that apartment building and commandeering the old woman's vodka
2. In the jungle with Figgis and he disappears
2 always gets to me, he disappears almost instantly i love the comedic timing
I just re-watched the entire series. I think season 7 is criminally underrated. Albeit, there may have been slightly less action in that season, the episode plots all connected and were all written well! Not saying it's the best season, but on re-watch I definitely had much more appreciation for it.
The original seasons were the best because they felt like a normal old style adult comedy cartoon and was a lot more funny than the other ones

I like that they took risks creatively and produced three dream sequence seasons that vary greatly. Keeps it interesting!
Least favourite dreamland, love 1-4 of course but also have a real soft spot for Danger Island which I actually really enjoyed ☺️
The first two dreams seemed like they had meaning and were really cool but the space one just felt kinda like they thought it’d be funny, which I would’ve liked if it was the first one
Vice and Danger Island were both absolute treasures! And I may be biased about danger Island just because of buff pam and Archer killing that look😅 Vice was insanity, and I just overall love Pam so much. The seasons that focus more on her are always the best!

Danger Island was my favorite, the whole Tales of the Golden Monkey thing was on point.
Archer Vice is definitely my favorite. Archer PI is up there, along with Danger Island, and Dreamland which were very entertaining as their own spinoffs. I didn’t mind 1999 as an anthology series, it was a fun watch as well, but i think i prefer a continuous plot. Of course you can’t go wrong with seasons 1-4. I can’t say I’ve ever really been disappointed with a season of archer. Even as the show has evolved and changed so much it still has the fantastic characters and witty humor that i love so much.

Man, I love Archer. So much. I love the whole storyline, all the seasons, but, as a just-for-fun, here-for-a-good-time-not-a-long-time treat, I really enjoyed Danger Island a lot. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing the gang back together again doing covert ops. Where's my black tactil-neck? No, not that one! The slightly less black one!

I really hated rock monster Pam. Cocaine Pam was ok cause she was still Pam and we got to see how'd she look if she was slimmer. She was HOT, but I just like the original Pam. Leave her alone.

I liked danger island a lot especially straight after the darkness of Dreamland. Plus Archer in the cargo outfit with the stubble 👌🏾👌🏾

i am still in shocked by reading the comments and finding out that there are actually a lot of real human beings that genuinely like vice and dreamland for real dayummmm
I think it's because of a change in formula, though that's my two sense talking. Me personally, out of the three, Dreamland was good, Danger Island was not so hot, writing wise (mostly them telling bird Krieger to shut up and once again no stakes, but I accepted that after.), and 1999 was amazing from a genre standpoint and comedy standpoint. It felt like the classic workaholic comedic environment these characters meshed well in. And I liked it because these characters are themselves (personality wise. Krieger's a robot and Pam is basically Korg from Thor Ragnarok).
TL;DR: 1999 was the best one out of the three, Danger Island was kinda terrible. my opinion btw.

I LOVE Vice, it's one of my favourite seasons. Dreamland is my least favourite but just cause it's more a drama than a comedy (as a drama it's quite good tho). I also love Danger Island and 1999.

@@StudioSolon danger island was my least favorite season. Season 7 was kinda bad IMO, but the barry episode was hilarious! One of my favorites in the whole show (but my favorite characters are barry and krieger)
Season 2, season 4 and season 6 are my personal favorites
Vice is my favorite. The only one I didn't care for was Danger Island. Otherwise the other nine seasons are funny even after multiple viewings. But Vice is my fave
Dreamland for me. The end stretch where the comedy just gives out to scifi horror noir is brilliant.
I can’t decide on a favourite, i enjoy all of them but honestly my favourite episode is Vision Quest.
Archer Vice was so unhinged, all the characters got major arcs in some way, & it was the first season to span a whole arc through all of the episodes while maintaining the episodic character of their escapades. It reinvented the formular that had been established but also kind of worn out in the previous four seasons, & it has the greatest finale with sharp political commentary in the final four episodes which probably are my favourite part of Archer altogether

Really? I couldn't stand it, only because it didn't feel like any of the characters were... their characters. No crazy scientist Krieger or batshit mad Cheryl/Carol was half the fun for me
@@sunkeneyes9564 archer was a half decent human being in Dreamland. He isn't as big an asshole as he normally is and his war flashbacks were cool. Cyril as a dirty cop was brilliant. Pam is her/his usual self Krieger is a nazi scientist / drug dealer with ethics. All the characters had something great to do in Dreamland and all the coma seasons.
I recently binge watched archer in like 4 days and the coma sequences really took me by surprise. Good to explore characters but there were no stakes which made it really hard to binge maybe when I rewatch them in the future I'll like it better. +Space really shouldn't have been a setting for them because thats kinda rick and morty territory. Not that it was bad but you can't outdo rick and morty in a season.
@@gkm2928 Yeah, nah, not for me. Gimme what I know and love, thanks. And I thought Pam was super boring in Dreamland, didn't seem like herself to me at all. She's usually crass and disgusting and plays off of Cheryl really well, neither of those things being present. Eh, to each their own and all.
It’s such a mindfuck listening to the voice actors considering they all sound EXACTLY like their on scream characters
I just watched episode 7, season 7. There where at least 10 inside jokes in this one and I'm pretty sure that the for the younger fans, they all probably flew right over their heads, but I was laughing the whole time. For me, when I'm watching the actors talk: I don't actually watch. I just turn away and listen. I see them better that way. ShoopShoopShoop!
Nocturnal missions, vice, dreamland my 3 favorite seasons
Season 3 always gave me the biggest laughs by that point they kind of embraced their own insanity.
I think outside of lana the guy who plays Archer would probably be the most fun to be friends with in real life just for that voice. I mean just imagine going to a bar with him and hanging out
People crap on the coma seasons, but Dreamland and Archer:1999 were awesome and so creative.
MY OWN SET OF QUESTIONS FOR THE CAST, & CREATURES OF (ARCHER) SHOW SERIES:
First one is, do you think someday the character (Archer) will finally mentally mature, and realize that he needs to be a better person than his mother?
I also wonder will (Archer) ever be able to reach a certain level of maturity, that he will no longer be selfish, no longer be egocentric, and I wonder if he might ever become less of a jerk, and to add I wonder if he might be able to learn to become less destructive as well?
Now I wonder do you think (Archer) might finally reach a level of maturity, that makes it possible for him to wise up a little, and hopefully slowly become a genuine responsible person, and to add I wonder if he might be able to mature enough to become a genuine good guy, caring person, and who is capable of becoming a genuine good friend to most individuals?

I adore Dreamland & Vice. Although I think Seasons 3 & 4 were probably the best.
it'd have to be season 2 for me...they had all just perfected their characters and their "histories" were solidified (season 1 things changed-up), the writing was sharp af, and the animation was amazing. later seasons the animators and writers got lazy, though it was always amusing and interesting.

I love how some of these voice actors do the interview in their show voice. For instance Lucky Yates barely sounds anything like Krieger in the interview but Judy Greer is in full on Cheryl mode.

For sure one of the first 5. Didnt care too much for the coma seasons and the drug season was good, but not better than the 1st few. I wanna say season 3. Good moments with archer and barry. That space season finale was great. Lots of other great stuff. Or just whatever season has the most krieger
