This was an amazing episode, can't wait for the next one! This program is intriguing, but always touches my heart. It shows the best and worst aspects of humanity. As an mortician / undertaker in the U.S. I have been the one to visit, after the ambulance, countless times. Unfortunately I have never seen a deceased person placed in a "comfortable" position like they do in this program . Is that a British practice? I wish U.S. ambulance services would do the same. It might make it a little harder for me during the removal, but it makes the cut of death a little less sharp for the families. It shows respect for the deceased, and care for the families that have experienced a sudden death. Although that scenario didn't happen in this episode, it always comes to mind when watching this series.
@@jonesblorraine i get he was probably needed to open the door or something like that, but he didn’t need to go in and look around at the mess in the bathroom while the woman was still in there. It’s the lack of dignity that bothers me. :)
the ambulance is often packed with blankets, caps, soothers and nappies of all size's, we often also keep candies, plush toys, dolls and other toys for pediatric cases
With that 25yr old girl not knowing she was pregnant, it’s not unusual that she may not have had ‘morning sickness.’ I had 4 children (4 separate pregnancies) … no sickness at all!
There was a lot of those women that served in the army, and once they came home, they were so independent that even after getting married and having children, they just found living with a man impossible, and so it went the man, and she raised the kids by herself and their fiercely independent. She went out on her own terms.
Hoping maybe she wasnt completely blind and luckily she can hear when people talk loudly although yes it would be very hard still for living that way without support I guess she prefered it like that or didnt want to be a burden
🎉well done your all superheroes. I think the emergency silver blankets would be more useful they won't get soaked they can be folded and put in a pocket too . Also I'm sure it would be cheaper too.
I could and would never allow my loved one to be in the floor waiting for an ambulance. I would absolutely have them moved prior to ambulance. If they are that backed up I would find a way to transport them if that’s impossible they would atleast be moved to a more suitable place
@@mrs.childers8333 that's because they're part of the same department... in UK (and plenty other countries in Europe), they're completely separate and don't have the same skill-set (fire has basic medical knowledge and they absolutely don't have the stuff needed to step in...)
Not trying to come across as rude. But if an elderly individual has fallen and is complaining of pain, you SHOULD NEVER move them, let alone transport them. I'm a Funeral director/embalmer, mortician and have seen "what you would do," end with me having to get involved. I understand why you might think it's the right thing to do, dignity, self reliance, or pride. But even if they are breathing and responsive. Do not try and get them up. Especially if they are complaining of PAIN! Let the professionals do an assessment, and then decide which METHOD IS BEST to get the individual up off the floor. Please heed my warning, I KNOW what I am telling you. It's from real life experience.
I don’t think she wants help. She said she’s not seen a Dr in 40yrs or more. What makes you think she wants random people in her house to care for her if she doesn’t even want medical care. I’m sure her daughter and grandkids are trying their best based on what she wants.
It’s safest to clamp the cord when there is limited info on mum’s haemorrhagic status. It appears they didn’t even know if the placenta had been delivered at that point. This mum ended up having a postpartum haemorrhage, so they made the right choice by tying off the cord after 3 minutes.
I think people wasting ambulance time should have to pay both drug users and alcoholic and any one else wasting emergency services time should have to pay 4 thousand pounds
They do in some cases as I remember 20 years ago when I was a student my friend fell down the stairs in a nightclub because he was drunk. They took him to hospital and he got a bill for £170. I agree that drunks and druggies should have to pay because they are self inflicting harm on themselves and others. Priority should be for real emergencies.
Homeless people obviously can't pay four thousand pounds. You'd prefer they die painfully on the sidewalk if they have a medical emergency? They deserve to die because they have no home and are mentally ill? How privileged are you?
I feel like with this rule we'd have to be careful. sometimes its not complete selfishness, sometimes people are genuinely attempting to take their own lives. i feel as if they are overdosing, they deserve help.
@waveylooto yes you're correct. Some people use drugs to cope with trauma then get addicted because they had no one to talk to about their issues so we need more services to look after these people. We do need to be careful with laws. For example I think a 3 strike rule is the way to go. If you get caught 3 times and haven't been getting help then that's it.
@@stephenmillergbl that could be a possibility. we definitely need more mental health resources and for mental health to be less stigmatized as a whole.
oh it's possible... plenty of reasons why it's possible... not everyone shows, not everyone has the typical symptoms of early pregnancy... there are plenty of ppl with irregular periods that easily can skip months at the time (and those ppl won't think of possibly being pregnant straight away when a period doesn't show up on time, that'll be much further down the line of why it doesn't show up)... plenty of ppl still spot blood at regular intervals throughout pregnancy that may lead them to think it's their regular period (especially if you commonly have very light periods)... just watch the show 'I didn't know I was pregnant'... plenty of real reasons that it's possible to NOT know that you're pregnant...
It is the wrong thing to do to give someone who refuses all help and won’t help themselves a blanket in the door way of a business. Or someone’s home. They choose to live the way they do and refuse help. Making them comfortable in a place they are hindering business or safe residence to take place is wrong. Sure give them the blanket and food if possible but away from the business. Or residence! Every one will continue to call 911/999 and waste many resources while people are having heart attacks, or laying in the floor for hours on end because of the “fitting” “seizing” increases their emergency level
If it was easy to get off their feet do you not think less people would be homeless? The only thing they could do for this man who did not call the EMS themselves was help is only complaint, which was that he was cold. Maybe instead of being rude to someone less fortunate than you, you could start helping people like him if it’s something you don’t like seeing.
I love that the ambulance medics had a baby cap and a hand crocheted baby blanket in their kit. Talk about being prepared.
We all do ❤
Would like to hear the call to her doctor who said she wasn't pregnant.
🤣🤣
Awwww, the girl with the ginger surprise baby, at a Harry Potter convention, she had a baby Weasly❤
😂😂
I kept saying Ginny's a better name as well. Love the name she picked though.

Awww the 94 year old lady, how can her daughter only go and see her twice a week? That is terrible 😢😢😢
When you’re that advanced in pregnancy hcg levels can drop and show up as negative. She should have had an ultrasound done.
Ultrasound at Hotel?
@ no, when she saw the doctor that morning
I absolutely love the way the ambulance and police dept talk to these folks. Doesn’t matter what the situation is. Good video, thank you
Those hotel staff had no reason to stand around loitering. Sheer disrespect.
Sleazy.
I don’t think he was wanting to be there but hung around just in case he was needed.
Perhaps a way of hoping everyone was going to be okay??😊
I agree they had no reason to come into the room.

Joyce certainly is an amazing lady at 94yo.
Those two hotel staff are so rude looking at the girl. Looking at the blood, placenta, etc. Disgusting, Leave her be
They're looking at what they're going to be cleaning up and deciding how many hotel cleaners to call in.

Absolute bare bones home, no care assistant for 24/7 service and 94 living alone!? Sickening she’s left alone in that condition
She doesn’t want it any other way. You have to respect that

Why the hell is the hotel staff standing around and watching?!!
Nosy buggars
Joyce is my mom's name, this is killing me.
I feel for the woman who is 94 and has spent the night on the floor and she is blind and death that must be horrible poor Joyce
"she is blind and death"
That's an unfortunate typo 😂
Deaf 😅
Could you have taken the time to check your writing before hitting "Enter"?

Nah, this was better. The blankets are donations to the A&E.
@Shdeffie yes but once wet they are wet for ages and cold so no good to keep them warm
That poor mum thought she was gonna die so half conscious she named her baby
I am an emt/paramedic & i would have had some words to say to those hotel employees!!!!!!! HOW RUDE INCONSIDERATE UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!
Addiction treatment in this country needs reforming
29:53 why wasnt she started in O2
Because her oxygen level was normal. Putting someone who doesn't need it on oxygen is dangerous.

Moving them can worsen injuries
The amount of people who lack the most basic first aid knowledge like CPR... incredible.
I never talked about hemorrhage at all since that’s not the way to stop hyper fixating on the symptoms
Why is Joyce’s house stripped off everything but her room and toilet?
Why is Joyce left on her own at her age? And her daughter checks 2 times a week 🤬 she needs someone there every day

Hotel guy should not be there overlooking mummy and baby
Blind, kann kaum hören und die Tochter kommt nur zweimal die Woche?????
Atrocious honestly they need a care giver
they had plans to buy a van.....if only they didnt spend the money on every drug on earth
Addiction isn't that simple
No need to tie the umbilical cord. The baby can safely stay connected until sterile equipment is available.

she went to the hotel with her mate to have the baby ,they both knew .
Addicts take up half the time😂

Yes there is many reasons why a woman won’t know
