- The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is here, and the stars are ready to celebrate.
The 97th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade returned Thursday for its annual holiday tradition, starting 30 minutes earlier on the streets of New York City and featuring fan-favorite balloons like Chase from "Paw Patrol" and SpongeBob as well as new balloons like Beagle Scout Snoopy and Po from "Kung Fu Panda."
All along Central Park West on Thursday, throngs of people gathered for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and packed street corners or sat on folding chairs set up since dawn. They wedged themselves on slivers of sidewalk, and some placed their toddlers atop food carts for a better view.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Kicks Off In New York City November 28-29 2024 Full Final Performance Marathon
Johnny, you had the perfect spot right there when there was trouble ahead on the parade route. I think a block or two ahead of the Disney Cruise Line float, some protestors had tried to block the parade by gluing themselves to Sixth Avenue. I could clearly see the concern on the faces of the backup performer Cast Members and the liaison Cast Members in the black clothes assigned to escort the float before they focused on keeping morale up among the parade guests with the music and dancing with the characters.
As for Anna, Elsa, Mickey, Minnie, Tiana, Naveen, Aladdin, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Moana, Peter Pan, and the other characters, they did a great job not letting this delay interrupt their duties as Disney reps at the Macy's parade. True discipline and resilience among the Cast Members. Only steels my resolve to want to become a Cast Member myself to escort Anna, Elsa, one of the Disney Princesses, or one of my other favorite Disney heroines during their meet-and-greets at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot.
