Besides, level 99 is really level 1665 because of having to retire 29 times to get to it, and if you want the best stat and skillpoint bonus you need to retire once more, putting it at level 1734. Now imagine grinding five characters to that level. Yeah...
Feared as much, but I wasn't sure so didn't add it, since other enemy attacks at least are color-coded (show their damage type by the color the target window flashes on impact) but Begone is non-elemental and shows the color of debuffing. Will correct it now. Thanks. Also, you have to admit starting up with Begone is one hell of a "nice" coincidence haha.
It's also the only game in the series to require you to get every piece of equipment, in addition to every item and killing every monster, to get 100%. Personally I resorted to Painless and Revenge for the postgame as I needed to get it done before EO3.
Man the fenrir gives massive xp even below level 30.I just got to level 26 with my healer.Fenrir is also still pretty strong even at lvl 26, but he dies a lot faster now.I can even win now vs the moa's a lot easier for some reason, but they are still quite strong.I got salve 2 at level 3 salve 1 at level 3 and cure 3 at level 4 now. That double hit is really paying off now.I am getting 2 hits of 50-60 damage, and that really hurts a lot.
The hunter guy seems less of a damage dealer, and more of a utility guy, but his utility is very useful.I'm loving the quickening and ambush and other stuff. He is also so damm fast too.
I actually have it. protector with Def 5 Shield 5 aegis 1 5 fortify 1 f guard 1 b guard I am trying to make him as defensive as possible, and even take blows for others. One thing i noticed, is that enemies attack the back row anyways, and deal full damage. Its impossible too to predict. A tip for Fenrir, you can kill one of the FOEs in his room and lure him to that corner, that way you will likely be able to kill him without the other wolves joining the battle.
I got 2 hit skill at around level 5 now.Its not bad but not that great.I also got first turn and ambush as well at level 1.I got patch up to 3 on my healer and level 5 poison and level 1 on each of the elements.I got tp up for scavenge on 1 character and level 2.I'm leaving it on level 2 for the moment. My archer has around level 3 bow and level 3 agility.Atm i'm trying to get some of those passive abilities, since some of them sound pretty good.I also got slash all level 2 for harder fights.
Just keep everyone somewhat updated on armor and as long as you are using either the medics Immunize or even the protectors Defender you should be fine on defense, Immunize is somewhat overpowered though, so it might take away some of the challenge. There is honestly no need to retire at all, but to get the most out of it you might want to retire at the highest level possible. Personally I beat the entire game without retiring once.
Yeah, but then there were those few that required several of a specific drop that took forever to farm if you weren't lucky, sure you'd unlock like 3/4 of the equipment just beating the game, but the rest was just extra work that didn't feel rewarding at all. Finishing EO2 100% felt like a chore towards the end, and that disappointed me slightly. It's still one of the best games I've played though, I just feel like the Gear Registry and retirement system dragged it down...
I can really bust enemies down around 4th floor, and the wolves die really easy.Mostly now i am farming items so i can make better weapons, because i know that fenrir is going to kick my ass.
I just got to abuse the holy water fountain, and was thinking:Why bother go to the inn at night when i can use the fountain to recover tp and use the tp to recover hp and then go back up?
I killed fenrir twice already, and i completely emptied the magnetic field level 2 of slashers once, and killed two more of those werewolves. Question:How much vitality=defense? i want to add as much defense as possible to the front row, since they are likely the ones first to receive.Should i also give that to all back members too? since the alchemist and healer are weak. Also:When am i supposed to retire?

How the heck are you supposed to kill it? I just started etrian odyssey trilogy btw with the first game.Right now i have no idea how to play, and i'm probably making colossal mistakes left and right.
You can try to use 3 low level Landskechs with counter attack and a paladin Force skill abusing of his Force skill, just get with max Force and use their force skill to negate all damage, after that use Axelas to refill in the same turn, Counter gets a damage multiplication on how much damage the unit gets, so if you abuse it, the Force skill will keep them alive and the damage calculation will ignore the block, doing like from 2500 - 5000 damage each counter It goes crazy even more because the units get a damage boost attacking weak enemies and viceversa, so the normal attacks make 5000 damage to the low level units. Imagine the instakill attack, that can be ridiculous
I find this reply funny because not only was this person talking about fenrir for some reason, he was also doing it in multiple comments because there was no replying to comments back then, so you are replying to a 10 year old comment for some reason of how to beat ur child to a person who was talking about how they were going to beat the first boss of etrian odyssey. Which they did beat anyways. And I'm guessing they also beat ur child already since it has been 10 years and they said they are starting the trilogy.

1:10 this is the most "welcome to Etrian Odyssey" scene I've never seen
Heh, check this one: th-cam.com/video/nxJXEidpWzc/w-d-xo.html
I love how the max HP you can have is 999 and this enemy can do over 10,000 damage.
In games the player is always at a disadvantage and outmatched in the health department.
His other restriction is no Axcelas. Basically, no instant force skills.
Yoru Kurasetsu sheesh, that's really harsh.
I just read this after 6 years, haha. Updated the description. Thanks.
Tough decisions were made at 5:00. I know that feel.
And then Ur-Child goes and, contrary to all expectations, decides to repeat the same move, a giant trollface briefly showing on that faceless "face".
as it is mentioned, patterns go down the drain, but that doesn't mean Ur-Child won't repeat a pattern, 'tis all up to him :v

Without FOEs because they don't give you EXP in this game ... You have to grind off of normal monsters
@@Faceless_time_traveler Bosses do give exp , thats how i used to level up, bring a 1hp hexer(and who you want to level up) and spam revenge

I have a kind of love-hate feeling toward this game . The Ur-Child fight mostly falls in the "love" side
