This video starts out a little slow while we got our travel feet under us once we get to the Dominican Republic; while Matt gets his scuba diving certification, I go on a wreck dive. Once we leave the city we find some beautiful places in the mountains, meet lovely people, practice our spanish and hike up some waterfalls. 😊

I love how you have 3/4 of a million subscribers and still keep life simple and real. Small (cheap?) Airbnb, frozen pizza, walking through a creek and waterfalls, filming with an iPhone,... It's all interesting, but down-to-earth. Add your incredible charm and authenticity and it's a great combination for the best TH-cam content. a number of other travel youtube channels I watch have become more "slick" and high-end as they have gained subscribers (and grown greedy, probably). You have just been yourself. Thank you.
I think for Hannah, getting an airbnb and a rental car instead of hostel and bus ARE high-end. I'm the same when I travel! It's about adventure, not luxury.

I loved this! The sense of playful exploration whenever you are in nature (whether it's in snowy weather or tropical canyons)... That sweet connection with your Dominican mama... The joy and love you share with Matt... And the sense of appreciation for the simple moments, like resting in a hammock or having a cup of coffee. You are always a pleasure to watch as you go about your day and flow through each moment. Thank you for sharing!
And by the way, your Spanish is great, especially with how comfortable you are when speaking and by your accent. I have heard you sing in Spanish before (nothing feels so good as belting along to a Spanish song!), but hadn’t really heard you speak in full sentences. One small thing I noticed is you said "una día buena"... it's counterintuitive, but día is actually a masculine word (one of the weird exceptions). But again, you speak really well :) It's great that Matt is learning, too (or as you called him, Mateo lol).
You are a global citizen Hannah. I love how open, kind and curious you are about the world and the many different ways we live on this planet. Also lovely to see the Hannah & Matt dynamic in play: strong and mutually supportive whilst enabling each other's individuality. Wishing you both balance and safe travels!

Wow, it's amazing how magical any vacation can be when you have the right attitude or are with the right person... everything looked so fun and amazing, certainly a dream getaway for sure! Those waterfalls did look like a painting!

honestly the Dominican people are such a sweet people. Most of the restaurants where I live in Puerto Rico are Dominican owned beliebe it or not and their food is delicious.

I love your videos so much, but I think this one is my favorite. The Security Guard waterfall was so beautiful, it gave me chills. The colors are amazing, the aqua water, the green plants and mosses, and the taupe rocks, I don't think I have ever seen a place a lovely. I am putting the DR on my bucket list right now.
