Forreal. Every one tAlks about AI crossing mile, but damon doing it over and over here. Whats more is hes doing it far more confidently, with fewer moves. Incredible stuff.
From this point all through the 3peat they had problems with quick quards. Marbury used to blow by them repeatedly too Randy Brown was the quickest player they had at that point
Damon Stoudamire averaged 22.7 points, 10.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 11 games versus the Bulls versus Michael Jordan in his career. while MJ was on the bulls
I watched the raps at a kid starstruck and amazed but with no concept of basketball. Now that I watched this video, i realize how special Damon was. That first cross over against Mike is better than AI's. He did it in one move. Way more confidence in his execution and attack. His athleticism was very underrated. That two man game with big Oliver Miller at 2:00 shows how slick he can be when his athleticism doesn't get him the first step. Lastly, his shot release stupid fast. All of these things made him a terror to guard, especially back then when the game was so slow.
I just came here because Steve Kerr was asked about this game at a press conference. He said he remembers missing the last shot. Lol. Not only did he miss the last shot, he stole the ball from Jordan and had a good opportunity to give it back for the last shot! What was he doing?!
There's still no way in hell this warriors team matches up with, let alone actually beats the bulls. I'm a Blazers fan so I'm neutral and can't stand Jordan as a person but...the old bulls are right. The game is made for offensive guards these days. Reinstitute hand checking and let's see how good the warriors really are.
+James C Ron Harper would kill Curry offensively. Harper is bigger and stronger than the average point guard today( 6'6" 216 lbs). Name a point guard that big today. Bigger guards like Ron Harper, Payton, and etc. loved to post up the smaller guards back then. I don't see that anymore in the NBA today. Ron Harper would just back Curry down and Klay would have to help which would leave Jordan open. There would be alot of mismatches. That small ball shit didn't work in the 90's.
Ron Harper 2 of 8 for 7 points against an undersized PG, Damon Stoudamire. Again, you live in the world of hypotheticals, I look at history and facts...
CreepinOutDaZiploc Chauncey Billups too, if you remember. Those three guys you mentioned are mostly face up offensive players. Point guards don't even set picks anymore either.
He was better than Kenny and Nick the quick, come on now? No not curry, best shooter ever.... But Damon was talent wise on par wit AI and Zeke. His situations and teammates were just wack. And unlike Iverson his coaches in Portland didn't give him the ball like Brendan Malone did. I don't know if he was a winner tho. He never played with a great 5. Sabonis was Fat. But if not for Shaq and Kobe, Damon could have a ring or two. Portland was nice 00-03
I find it funny when commentators say that players in the 2010’s and 2020’s are more skilled than players from this era, when they learned from players from this era. Damon stodumire, Rod Strickland, and Mahmoud Abdul Rauf would have held their own against today’s guards, simply because it would not have been that hard to adapt to today’s pace and style of play.
Always coming back to this when they say Jordan would destroy certain current era players. I might even still have MJ as the true Goat, but Damon still proving/ed that players like Curry and Kyrie on the dribble would destroy MJ on defence. They were not clamping Damon ever and thats the PRIME Bulls team.
You could say that Jordan was taught not to close out hard on the 3 cuz it wasn’t as wide spread as today. I think if Jordan had to clamp up curry with todays knowledge and how basketball is played he could.
Dude Jordan was 6’6 he’s not going to be able to guard a 5’11 guard that quick, this is the NBA anybody can have a night where they cook Jordan back then and today doesn’t take away from how great Jordan is cause they can’t guard him either.
Being the 🐐 doesn't mean every game is perfect lol these are the best players in the world of course brothers is going to have a good night on u it happens
So this tell me how in Gods name if jordan couldn't stop Little Mighty Mouse How you stopping curry durant and klay smh..yo it will go 7 who will win...I don't know know!
If there were more videos of Jordan being just a regular player, getting faked out, getting scored on relentlessly, ect. He wouldn't be the most massively fucking overrated athlete in the history of sports.
how? no top defender can stop every defender in every play every night. That doesn't make them overrated. When it comes down to it these Raptor players made it to the NBA for a reason. They knew how to play the game very well, and on that night they showed it. Only thing posts like yours here shows is how little you actually respect the game itself thinking a superstar is supposed to just run over everyone else every night or they're overrated.
Most players aren't eveb playing defense anymore at age 33 like MJ was here. Stoudemire also only scored 4 baskets on MJ and all of them were off screens. The rest came against Kerr.
I remember this game. was the talk of Toronto..mighty mouse was a bull killer... and wow what a shot by mj after the buzzer....
What a shot by Jordan whether he knew the bank was home or not! What a shot! And what a display by Stoudamire!
that court is dope
He was cooking MJ lmao

Elbow Gang but on the other end they killed the little guys with their big guards harper n Jordan
..
Not really, he had a great game but most of his points came off of screens. Wasn't like he was taking him one on one
Thats why MJ undercoverly respected Damon
Damon Stoudamire averaged 22.7 points, 10.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 11 games versus the Bulls versus Michael Jordan in his career.
while MJ was on the bulls
Damn!! Damon went off against the Bulls every time he played em! great upload Lamar
+Jdizz812 I noticed that too lol

Yup. And I could see where Vleet and Lowry got their style from. Lots of similarities there.
I remember this game like it was yesterday

That fool turned into Carleton Banks from Fresh Prince when he stole the ball from Will 😂
This is the greatest game in the history of the Raptors franchise.
Wilt Chamberlain GOD of NBA LOL
When you have stats like that, and His Airness is the defender..Just tells how good a basketball player you are.
MJ dididnt play defense this game lol
@@TyBrezzy11 WOW really???
@@TyBrezzy11 He did. He just got cooked,
@@shafo4384 nah he dialed it back
@shafo4384 No Steve Kerr got cooked. All three of Staudimires baskets scored on MJ came off screens that MJ didn't even bother to fight though.
Ron Harper said he would easily shut down Steph Curry... sorry Ron, we found videotape evidence that contradicts your theory...

This guy was so good for about 3 years
Great clip man a good player, On Nba 2k16 his overall is 76 is that a realistic rating please help?
Yeah that was some bullshit. Iverson def an all star his whole career in 76ers years. And Damon shoulda been at least a 4 time all star. Smh.
He was better than Kenny and Nick the quick, come on now? No not curry, best shooter ever.... But Damon was talent wise on par wit AI and Zeke. His situations and teammates were just wack. what a game
#MIGHTYMOUSE
04:04....now it's "personal"
And Damon was my Idol
never seen anybody touch MJ like Alvin Robertson did at the end
I know it didnt count but how the hell did Jordan make that last shot??? Geez!
Wow... that wouldve been another buzzer beater on Jordans resume
This raptors team would break the 72-10 record today
you are hella drunk for that comment
Where's the defence
The eff? The Bulls NEEDED a 3 and Jordan, like Ray Allen, got the rebound with 2 seconds left and took at 2?
They lost by 1 point slowpoke. MJ's basket didn't count as it was after the buzzer. Final score was 109-108
Mj was getting worked but that shot at the end was clean. Would’ve been crazy if he had enough time
Jordan had post position at end of game

While he was still a great defender at this point Jordan was aging and didn't put the same effort in on quick guards. 88'-93' Jordan was the apex.
33yr old MJ was not prime MJ.

This game was the one Pippen said they went out to party the night before. The bulls were hangover, so they barely lost. Who the fuck cares?
Raptors celebrated like they won the nba championship lmao
WOW .... Another to prove to others that Jordan was the best. JORDAN is guarding Stoudamire, Mighty Mouse !!!! thats all i gotta say,,,,lol

So shifty
My Portland Oregon homeboy was killing Jordan
