Chimney Felling (1940)

Full title reads: "Chimney Felling".
GV Tall chimney standing in field.
MS Men under the chimney removing some of the supporting bricks. They then place wood and straw under the chimney and soak it in paraffin which they set light to. The purpose being to burn away the wooden supports at the base of chimney and so fell the chimney. Men look up and wait for the chimney to fall.
GV of the chimney falling and breaking into hundreds of bricks which scatter the field.
Men walk amongst the rubble in the field.
France.
GV and MS pan down large French chimney.
VS French army workmen placing explosives under the chimney.
CU Hand pushing plunger of detonator.
GV of the chimney collapsing in a cloud of dust.

Cool ancient stuff! They put some more blasting stuff in it than todeay...what a big buum... no i know why dibnah named them the " dynamite men..." buuum..and sometimes choped a 3 shift mill into half like in yorkshire
