A brief survey of the recent explosion of LGBT content in East Asian music. I am thinking King Gnu, Jolin Tsai, Omori Seiko, and Tokyo Gegegay among others. Nobody to my knowledge has brought this all together and commented on it. I realize that you are primarily a British artist but your bi-cultural roots lend you a perspective that many of us would benefit from hearing. I also think it would be a way to reach out to those who follow these artists across the world. Fans of Denise Ho, Sheena Ringo, Sato Aya etc. are sure to love what you are doing.......Anyway, just a thought, not really a suggestion. Thanks for all you do.
6:45 "Acting is so hard, I need to work on myself" And now she's acting as the female lead character for one of the biggest series (John Wick 4) I'm tearing up 🥺
It's so inspiring to see a Japanese person so succesful doing something that I aspire: making music that addresses issues in a way that is artistic and emotional. Seriously, fell in love with STFU! and it always gets me so amped and proud to be a japanese woman in music. NYからいつも応援してるよ♡
I kind of know what it’s like when people ask you annoying questions, because my parents are deaf. And people always asked me, why they can’t hear, how are they talking and how they understand me and if I can teach them something in sign language. I even got bullied when I was young, because of my parents (which is really stupid) I felt that song and I really like it, it’s one of my faves.
we want you to to make videos about anyyyything you feel like, i would watch literally anything you would post thank you rina for giving the gays what they want we love you!!!
I listened to this song outta curiosity after seeing it advertised and I gotta say it's incredibly catchy and one of my favourites to sing anywhere I go 😂
The date made me want to crawl out of my skin because of his unintentional racism. I love this video. And it's really nice to see the behind the screens video of how it was made. Bravo!
I'm appreciative of videos like these! I love how you're explaining everything in a vlog-style. It's almost like a commentary on the BTS, instead of just the BTS like most others do. Keep it up!
I literally discovered Rina right before her album dropped and I started really getting involved in her music like, a day after it was released and now I’m in love with her what do I doooooo ;^;
Let's enjoy this commentary videos by her... because she gonna be busy touring and making music after everything get back normal 🥺 we will miss this kind of videos queen 💓
you don't know how much i love you for doing videos like these, we finally get a inside peak of the music industry and how things are done and i am OBSESSED!!!
I watched this when it came out for the first time. As an immigrant, like Rina, it was a bit painful to watch it. I thought Rina was so brave. I love the fact that she is focused on justice and empathy. She is so intelligent, talented and fearless. I am so excited that she is spreading other messages, like sexuality and capitalism, across the world.
Wow, the last time I was so obsessed with an artist I watched interviews/backstage videos, was with Lady Gaga You have that popstar appeal to you and I wish you will make it to the top 🙏
I came across you recently. I love your art and how you connect and share with your fans. The opening scene I knew immediately what was happening. It has happened to me more times than I can count. Where Im no longer an individual. fetishized as an avalanche of every stereotype imaginable is trown my way. To see this articulated was liberating.
I'm a part of an activist group that has a lot of college kids in it so we get people from all over the country. I gave someone a ride after an event. Because we have people from all over in our movement, and because this was a stranger, I figured I'd make small talk and my go to ice breaker for everyone is always "where are you from?" I remember they seemed pretty irked by that question and I remember being confused as to why. Wasn't until the next week I thought about it again and remembered they were Asian. This happened months ago and I'm still kicking myself for asking someone a question they get asked all the time. Even though I didn't have any racist thoughts behind it, the fact that it definitely came across that way still fucks me up.
I would like to hear what's your music direction plan. Since STFU was really a shift from your pure r&b sound. So yea, i would like to see your thoughts on that! Take care and good luck.
So good! And wish I hadn’t but I’ve been there with those comments 🙄 so glad there’s a song that can fully channel my inner monologue during those moments haha!
Interesting... Isn't the theme of the STFU! song a bit like a cultural or mundane variant of yellow fever, possibly limited to the Japanese experience? (I know the concept of yellow fever is problematic in several ways and I hope I don't offend anyone.)
what kind of topics would u like discussed in future RINA TV episodes?? comment below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
how to make an ALBUM.
Your approach to aesthetics of shoots, promo images!
Your fave albums of all time

I started listening to Ben's podcast "The Pin" because of STFU. Hilarious! His rendition of the guy on the date was so spot on. Keep it up Queen!
Going down a Rina Sawayama rabbit hole and I don't think I want to leave any time soon! I AM IN LOVE!!
I listened to this song outta curiosity after seeing it advertised and I gotta say it's incredibly catchy and one of my favourites to sing anywhere I go 😂
the way she lowkey hinted at chosen family at the end
@2:13 - I screamed and lost my wig lmao.
yesssss same hereeeee

she exudes the same energy as Rico Nasty in the video lmfao
i fucking love these videos

How long was the process from the concept to the filming and post production? 1-2 weeks?

@@rinasawayamaofficial ah interesting! thx

イメージ、固定概念に縛られてる人間と話すとグッタリ疲れてしまう
なんでも誰でも個体別で、目の前の「あなた」を見ないで押し付けてくる人間は
同じ事をされたら気付けるのかしら?
怒るのかしら?
The one dislike is the racist dude in the music video
