      There are always exceptions. I feel like it was to do with Neymar getting injured since he was part of brazils identity. Neymar was framed by the media as this miracle maker and the players, as well as the fans, ate it up.

  • @AeonQuasar
    @AeonQuasar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +83

    I can not say this on a professional level, but as a semi-pro local goalkeeper we always played best home for a few resons.
    1. Home teams provided the match balls. (different bounce, hardness, weight, etc)
    2. Pitch quality (astroturf type, natural grass)
    3. Pitch shape (length-wide) We had a very short and narrow pitch, making long through balls difficult, but shot from range easier, and throw ins dangerous. Other teams used some time to adapt their tactic for that.
    4. Shorter travel distance (we had some far away matches (5 hours driving) and we always played worse the first 30 minutes at those.)
    5. Less nerves (everything was familiar)
    6. Knowing we had a advantage, (psychologically) The other teams often played with lower pressure, especially at the start. We dominated more than we often should.

      My team (Lille OSC) last year (before january) was amazing away but just average at home, turnt out that the players were under pressure at home and felt free away as it was a new young team, now they have more experience this season and we are the only team to be undefeated at home this season (and since january 2019 we actually lost only 1 game) but we were last of the scoreboard at away games until our recent first win away in Lyon (which has troubles at home)

    i think a huge factor is that you’re supposed to win your games at home more than your away games. when for example bayern plays dortmund at home, most of the time they wont be happy with a draw, while if they play dortmund away it wouldn’t be that bad. so if at home its a tied score at the 80th minute, they probably will be pushing more for the winning goal than they would do if it was an away game. so i think the intention teams enter the match with plays a big role

    You minimize the effects of the crowd but then you say referees give better calls to the home team when they hear the crowd reactions. I think the home crowd is a major factor. For teams that don't have great support you can include things like travel and conditions at the home pitch but mostly I think it's the crowd. When teams come into the "Benz" in Atlanta they have 50 to 70 thousand fans on top of them making a lot of noise. I think even if Atlanta had less talent they would still win a lot more at home because of the crowd.

  • @aryan07co45
    @aryan07co45 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In cricket pitches really makes a difference In Indian pitches there is more deflection of the ball when it pitches and in Australia there is more pace of the pitch. When in India goes to Australia India looses 70 percent of time and when Aussies come to India they lose also about 70 percent of matches . In English piches there is more movement of the ball before pitching due to the windy weather. So in cricket it is testosterone levels and crowds advantage are negligible and it is more of a technique difference the batters have to adjust.

      Ajax in the champions league last season was a little weird too. They played 12 matches in total.
      Home: 2W, 2D, 2L
      Away: 4w, 2d, 0L
      On the other hand, all their 4 losses in the league were away matches vs PSV, Feyenoord and some others. While they stayed unbeaten at home.

    Its the sum of a bunch of small factors that together pushes it towards home advantage. You can nullify some factors while others are very hard to get rid of.

    No mention to how stadiums can be made in different dimensions to support the team play? You have a range of 100-130 yards high and 50-100 yards width.
    If you have a huge pitch at home with fitter players, you can run the opposition down. Or, wider pitches with better wingers provide an advantage. Counter attacking teams with a 100 yard pitch will do better than a 130 yard pitch.

  • @aboudrashad5915

    this video over complicates things. Home advantage does exist and the reasons are quite obvious. Also, you say 60% as if that's nothing... That's actually pretty high. Not to mention the fact that not every team has the same level of home advantage. some teams have higher home advantage than others depending on atmosphere of the crowd and the actual quality of the team.

    • @Banzybanz

      Cricket's home advantage is about the pitches and the weather, which affect the game far more than in football. What kind of pitch you prepare and the weather conditions affect the game to a huge extent.
      It is not necessarily about the crowd and sometimes it can go against you, like it happened to Sehwag against Australia. He was given out lbw by Billy Bowden, because the umpire could not hear the sound of the inside edge due to the crowd's noise.
