Great video! Really csnt wait to see thisbgame through! But It's taken you 1.5 videos too get further than I ever did! I used to just blast about on the boat. And I will always now call any automatic weapon as "Atomic".. love it Can't wait to watch part 3!!
The reason windows were never thought of was this was one of the first games ever to introduce being able to shoot them out. That mechanic had never been used before, so we didn’t think we could. Also - and it took me a while to use this trick - I learned of a cheesy way to deal with the combat. The accuracy of those bad guys, I was just running through med packs like crazy. I learned if you get behind them, they have to run around and realign themselves before being able to shoot again. I would get behind them and stay running on their butts and shooting them in the back. I know it’s cheesy and cowardly, but the platforming in this game is already difficult. I didn’t want to deal with the combat too lol
Well done on the timed section! As a kid I always cheesed it by swimming under the door (which you hear opening and closing all the time). That way the timer wouldn’t start. I cheesed it again playing the remaster last year because it was the only way I knew to finish this level.
This episode was me continually saying: oh i remember that window! oh i remember that speed boost that its never indicated anywhere! I remember those mines! hehe great episode mage! :)
Lara missed out on a career as a stunt actor with those boat tricks :P These early levels are so nostalgic to me, I remember watching my late dad playing them when the game had just come out. Watching these videos is a trip down the memory lane in the best possible way.
I hate having to kill sabrecubs and sabrecats in DQ.... although in dq8 you can ring baumrens bell and they will run off so you dont have to fight them ( fun fact)
Oh what a sweet sweet surprise to see you replay this gem Mage! Buckle up kids we're going on an adventure, with hopefully some good ol' speedy frustrated mage lol
I've never been to Venice but I heard that the canals can stink especially in summer so yeah... But luckily we don't have to worry about that in video games, so Lara can swan dive all she wants!
Really enjoyed this video and looking forward to the next one. When playing TR I do think how were people supposed to know to something, like shooting the windows. My dad may have found that part difficult when he played it as he played TR1 and TR2 himself before I asked if I could play them with him. I've been played the DLC to TR1, Unfinished Business, and its been hard. I have no idea where to go or what to do so I'm exploring everywhere and trying to figure it out, which is new to me as I always knew where to go in TR1 due to my dad playing it so many times with me. I'm also getting scared playing it as I'll turn a corner and there are enemies staring at me. First time that happened I literally jumped as I turned around and there were 3 Atlantean creatures staring at me. Looking forward to the next episode and seeing more of Venice.
The thing that takes (a lot of-) time is figuring out in what order Lara should do things. Curse and a blessing, in TR games. Especially if it's effin timed and you have no clue what to do where. 😂
@@Usernamehear You could be right about that. I just seemed to remember part of Diamonds Are Forever being set in Venice, or it could possibly have been Amsterdam. Either way it is definitely associated with a Bond film.
I don't know if there's more than one bond film that uses Venice and cutting a gondola and half of a speedboat, but the one I know that definitely has that scene is Moonraker
You have got to embrace the morbid side and search the corpses lol That speedboat... I'm not sure I've played a tomb raider game and not wanted to do the entire level on foot! Venice is my second favourite set of levels, after the Tibet ones and it's so nostalgic. Though, Lara probably has dysentery by now! The canal water in Venice is highly contaminated. Where wouod the poop pipe flow to??
You gotta check bodies mate. There were at least two that dropped stuff, you even walked over one and got the pickup icon but didn't notice. It was just atomic pistol ammo and a small medkit, but I don't know how hard the game gets.
Oooohhhhhhh. I kept wondering how to throw and light flares. I never could figure it out, so I always lit them through the inventory screen throughout my whole playthrough, which was a little annoying lol left touch pad and R1… I never would have thought to do that. Same as how I was never good at fighting games. I could never figure out the moves lol
I'm doing an achievement run of this game on my twitch. It's been a lot of fun so far. I'm at 138 out of 269. I've played through all 3 games and will have to play through each game again for the speedrun achievements.
@magemasher22 oh my gosh, my hero replied to me! Thank you so much! It's more tedious than anything else. Like for instance, you need to light a flare in front of this random poster in the Opera House. Or not let rats hurt you in any of the Venice levels. I don't have a very large audience, only my friends, but I hope to get a bit of a following soon!
Atomic Pistols 😂😂😂😂 I love the Venice Levels too! This is just nostalgia galore for us! Do you have a favourite level? I absolutely hate the water levels they were very long!
Thanks!
Aw thank you so much LadyLeesa!!!

Can you believe I've had this brilliant game for almost a year and not scraped the surface i have such a backlog loving your playthrough 😎
the boat part gives me so much anxiety but you smashed it (literally!)
aaayyyy XD

Best level, best music, best atmosphere, worst boat ever lmao

I’m so happy others share my nostalgic love for this game ☺️
14:43 'Don't watch it..' Adding it as my next binge fest! xD
Gdi…

I never knew that!
This is making me so happy😊
Oh what a sweet sweet surprise to see you replay this gem Mage! Buckle up kids we're going on an adventure, with hopefully some good ol' speedy frustrated mage lol
Without a doubt 😅😅

You can push in on the right stick to quicksave and click in on the left to quick load
Yeah I didn’t know this until a few episodes in! Very handy!
Really enjoyed this video and looking forward to the next one.

Yes another one
this is my favorite area too. It's also the only area I remember but that's besides the point. Very atmospheric for whatever reason
😅 it really is!
Yay more tr2. Also waiting for you to load instead of save. Its gotta happen 😅
No comment… 😬
“Get back in the boat” coulda been a great video title lok
Love this game
Great stuff keep on going Mage - Got to encourage the youngsters / novices. Humblebrag - I shot the window straight away. ;)
Curse my 8 year old brain!
@magemasher22 😁😁😁
I think the speedboat cutting the gondola in half is a reference to the Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. I think it originally happened in that film
I think it was man with the golden gun actually

It was so cool when I went to Rome a few years ago I saw some places I was like.. I swore I climbed this in AC brotherhood... XD
Haha oh my god I’d be the same!

Oh wow, well done on that and good luck! They sound super hard!

@ haha pffft well that's very kind of ya, and yeah seriously good luck with it all!
Atomic Pistols 😂😂😂😂
I love the Venice Levels too!
This is just nostalgia galore for us!
Do you have a favourite level?
I absolutely hate the water levels they were very long!
Maybe the next one, or the opera house!
@magemasher22 Opera House is a fantastic level! I do like Bartoli's hideout too! Looking forward to the next one cheers
I suppose if there was a tribute band called The Atomic Pistols there could be another one called The Sex Kittens!
Haha yes!!
HOW DID I MISS EPISODE 1 OF THIS? DAMMIT MAGE! Even though it's not your fault, I blame you 😜
THANKS TH-cam!!
If you jump from the boat on to the other boat whilst you blow up the mines you’d of gotten another trophy 🤣
Yeah I’ll have to try that next time! Some very cool trophies in these!
