Phoksundo Lake is famous for its magnificent turquoise color and the spectacular scenery clearly rank it with the most scenic mountain parks in the world. Shey Phoksudo Lake lies in the Shey Phoksundo National Park, which has an elevation of 3,611.5 m above sea level. It is an alpine freshwater lake that is regarded as the sacred place for the Buddhists and followers of the Bonpo religion. It is surrounded by rocky cliffs and deep forests. Dolpa and Phoksundo were always on our bucket list. We finally did the Dolpo Trek this year. When we started our journey, heavy rain makes our travel very adventurous. The 16 day trip consisted of crazy road trips at the beginning, trekking through vastly different landscapes.
One of the best views and the bluest clearest waters that we've ever been to. But what makes it even better? The people. Yes, the people might be one of main reasons we want to go back. They make you feel at home away from home.

Duration of Trek : 16 days (Due of Heavy rain and Landslide) Real Duraion is 8 to 9 Days
Grade of trek : Moderate
Day 1 : Ride to Burtibang from Galyang, Syangja
Day 2 : Burtibang - Tallubagar (Jajarkot) by Motorbike ride
Day 3 : Tallubagar - Dunai (Dolpa) By Motorbike ride
Day 4 : Dunai - Chhepka (Trek)
Day 5 : Chhepka - Samjhana Hotel, Saijal (Trek)
Day 6 : Samjhana Hotel, Saijal - Phoksundo, Ringmo Village (Trek)
Day 7 & 8 : Phoksundo, Ringmo Village (Due to Landslide on Phoksundo Waterfall)
Day 9 : Phoksundo, Ringmo Village - Chhepka (Trek)
Day 10 : Chhepka - Dunai (Trek)
Day 11 : Dunai - Tripura by Motorbike ride
Day 12 : Tripura (Due to Landslides on road)
Day 13 : Tripura - Khadang by Motorbike ride
Day 14 : Khadang to Khalanga, Jajarkot By Motorbike ride
Day 15 : Khalanga - Butwal by Motorbike ride
Day 16 : Butwal - Galyang (Home) by Motorbike Ride
For this trip, it cost us about 30 thousand per head (including hotel charge of 3 days and 2 night on Ringmo Village and 3 Days and 2 Night on Tripura due to heavy rain and landslides). Generally, the cost comes to around 20-25k per person for the whole trip.
