I’m very sad to see people who are happy he’s gone. Just because he lived and thought differently then you didn’t make him a “godless heathen”, “evil leftist” or whatever other worthless label you want to give him. But he was honest, and proud of who he was. Yeah, he made mistakes, we all have. He was a good actor who starred in one of the best movies of the 1960s, “Easy Rider”. He helped launch independent cinema and is an iconic figure of his era. I can’t speak for everyone sadly, but I will gladly raise a glass to freedom and say RIP Peter Fonda.

What many of us now take for granted as part of cultural and artistic history was, at the time, derided and discounted by the "establishment." Cavett was and is a socially and intellectually curious man who had a ton of the psychedelic "hippie" musicians and counterculture figures on his show. :-)
