Hello David, I'm very excited to receive all of your messages about Braid locs. I started mines 4 days ago. I need to know when you started your locs when did you 1st wash your hair??? What do you use when your locs are dry from day one of your loc journey PLEASE???

Hi! Congrats on starting your Braidlocs!! I have a really dry and flaky scalp so I washed my hair a few days after I finished my install. I started mine on May 15, 2021. I have also used conditioner on my locs from almost the very beginning of my journey. Royal Oils Scalp Elixir : amzn.to/3O1DDqT is what I use in between washes to help with my dry itchy scalp.

Hello David , thanks for this video . Is it possible to only use the retwist method on micro locks ? or retie is absolutely necessery ?

Hi! Thanks for watching. You can use either method for your maintenance. Both have their pros and cons so I honestly believe it depends on your pace of life and what you’re wanting most.

Thanks for this video and sharing your experiences and best practices! I’m almost 3 months loc’d (DIY) and like you , need to wash my hair once a week. I get so frustrated though because my locs in the front seem to slip, even after a fresh retie. Did/do you experience this? I’m trying not to give up them 😢

Thanks for watching! What starter method did you start with? I have Braidlocs and my hair texture is very tight so I never experienced any slippage or unraveling.

I started them as braids leading to twists. The back and middle is tighter too so it makes sense that the front is struggling since the texture is looser.
