Fantastic street photography and great video. I’m thinking of getting an A6700 for travel photography but keep seeing so many reviews about it overheating after only 10 minutes or so of video and even getting hot to hold doing photography. Given I’m travelling to some hot countries it’s a worry. Do you find this camera gets warm even during photography?
I need to keep reminding myself that this so close in focal length and aperture to the sigma 30mm 1.4 so that I don't try to buy it haha! Awesome editing btw, lot of the shots didn't strike me until you edited them, especially the porsche ones!
I'll help you, you don't need this lens despite you really really wanting it. The 30mm is good enough. Does that help? 😂😂 Glad you like the photos and editing! 👌
I have 6700 and sigma 56 1.4 yet with street photography I haven't a clue what to look for - although I do sports and landscape decently. Keen to hear from people for inspiration and tips.
Thanks @@garethdv- I also shoot with 18-135 - it's the subjects that I struggle with. Also I get very socially anxious so I get nervous sticking the camera in people's face
i love hearing ur thoughts and the pictures are there to really back it up. great skills. also unpopular opinion i actually appreciate your video footages not overly cinematic and is a more natural look. makes me not second guess my eyes
Hi, am I right in assuming as a newbie that you can play around wither shutter high and low etc in photography rather than video. Is there a reason for shutter 1/1200 vs 1/300?
I have a hard time deciding if i should buy the Viltrox 27mm 1.2 or the Sigma 18-50 2.8? I already have the Sony 18-135mm 3.5/5.6, and the Sigma 56mm. I would like to have a lens at a wider focal length that also is pretty fast. I mainly do street photography but want to get more in to automotive photography as well. Any recommendations?
You definitely do a great job with this camera, but I cannot choose between a7c II and A6700, or maybe I'm missing a better choice! I also see with some lenses, cropped photos captured on A6700 can be similar to a full-frame photo.
Would you consider making a video of Viltrox 27mm vs Viltrox 75mm for street photography. I've looked on TH-cam and cant dind anything. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
Man I never get that lucky with a sweet car parked in a perfect location for shots when I'm there. Plenty driving or street parked but that seemed properly set for photo shoot. Awesome shots as always and man I want to upgrade to the 6700 so much.
Sigma is sharp at f1.4 and super sharp at f2.0 but viltrox is super sharp at f1.2 and flawless at f1.4. at the center with slight vignette at the corner. The only downside is it's heavier and bulkier for viltrox.
Enjoyable POV, helpful commentary, cool pics, Curtis. Congrats on A6700 purchase! Lots to explore and customize with that one. Fav pics include produce market #1 (environmental shot), runner and guy on phone on bridge (layering), Porsche detail (abstract) and bridge/frame reflection. Bridge frame reflection - window frame super sharp, bridge acceptably sharp, so my guess is that your focus point was on the frame or glass surface instead of the bridge reflection itself (does that makes sense?) Still with a wide angle lens depth of field could have been deep enough for getting both door frame and bridge in focus - I guess😊. Magnetic attachment for magnetic personality, nice.😊 (Just not for folks who have medical implants - no kidding). Cheers!
About reflections... A major thing to always keep in mind at any time, is : reflections are relative. They depend on where you are, how you stand, the angle of the optical unit ( = the lens) and its type (wide to narrow), the light path and obstacles, the could coverage and spread, etc. etc. if you change anything in this whole ensemble, the final result will change for sure... and it may be a radical change. All this may sound silly in its simplicity, but this is crucial because all elements of this photographic "choreography" have an equal importance in thsi final result ( = the image you created). Take the reflection of a full-Moon on the surface of a lake/river/sea, as an exemple... you have seen this at least once. But have you ever wondered how many factors come into play for this potential image (not snapped yet, but potentially existing) ? Now you get the idea : when reflections are involved, it's a different field of the Art of photography. In the presence of reflections, we must change the way we watch things and the way we intend to include them in our photography expression. Enjoy reflections... after a little "réflexion".
the market stall shots are great , its great Market this one , not been there for a few years now not a fan of the a6700 only because I don't like the flippy screen ..the viltron 27mm looks interesting , love to see some night bokeh shots with it
With the original sony kit lens:- Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens (Black) Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens How good are those lens for low light ? Ofc am coming from a 1" sensor camera at 2.8 apt which kinda sux at low light... Will i see big improvement ?
This video really shows how versatile 40mm(35mm equivalent) is. Take a step back, it's a 35 mm wide angle. Take a step forward, it's standard 50mm potrait angle.
@@chesslover8829 Using the 40mm more than the 85. I dont take strangers pics. So the 85 stays at home. Another combo I am using is the 24-120 on a z50, mostly during the day. Got some great shots for a sunset from the beach.
How do you take pictures of people and they dont mind? I tried this in my country and people get fired when I'm clicking pictures of the streets. They are not even in the pictures
Just ordered an A6700 with 70-350 for £1592 from Camera World! Insane discounts this weekend! as a Nikon Z5 user I think Im going back to aps-c! Far smaller and better value lenses...
Quite a simple answer, as I was shooting with such a shallow Aperture number like F1.2 that lets a lot of light into the camera. To compensate for this bumping up the shutter speed drastically decreases the amount of light entering the camera. Therefore offering me the correct exposure for my photography. Hope that answers your questions 😃
Great images, but for me I seem to prefer the majority of your pre-edits. I find that the post edits are very bronze/brown and dark and detract from the wonder natural colours. Again its only my eye that I see that from. But love your content, and just got my a6700 with a 17-70 Tamron lens, and now looking at a prime. Mainly do pics for the local kids dance school and concerts
This is an aps-c lens. I though aps-c was dead. Don't tell that to my a6700. It will bite. Where do you see asp-c going? Becoming more popular doe to the large number of new aps-c lenses coming from Asia. Even Sony has made some very attractive aps-c lenses like the 11mm 1.8. BTW, you have far too much fun with your camera. Keep it up, gets me energized to go out and shoot like I used to last century.
That's nice. I've never taken photos of it before. So what I wasn't meant to take those photos just cause other people have? What logic you running here?
Could you do a comparison of sigma 23mm 1.4 with sigma 30mm 1.4 and viltrox 27mm, please?
Your street photography is AWESOME! You made me want to buy a Sony a6700 and start making some TH-cam videos 👀
Thanks dude! And that's GREAT to hear! Hope you enjoying the camera and nice! I'll have to check out one of your videos! ✌️

Thank you so much 😀
Love this POV in my home town. There’s some great architecture and other points of interest. You really done them justice. Great video!!!
Ayyyy thanks mate! New Castle is underrated for street photography! 🇬🇧
Which would you prefer for street photography? 75mm f1.2 or the 25mm f1.2 ?
Love your work. Wondering what kind of settings do you use for night photography for example fully manual or one of the other modes?
I got both the a6700 and the viltrox 75mm f1.2 lens.... Its a KILLER COMBO ❤️

I've really enjoyed watching your videos. I'm new to photography and have bought a second hand sony a7 to start in the sony ecosystem
Thanks mate! 🙌
A6700 with that lens is one of my favorite combos ever. That and the Sony 16-55 2.8 and you are set.
I was wondering, what kind of monitor are you using to edit you photos ? i'd really like to have a good monitor too ! btw awesome POV as per usual 🔥
