How did PSA scam you? You paid and sent them your ball to get graded and that's what they did. Just because it didn't grade as high as you wanting it to be or it didn't grade as high as you thought it should be doesn't mean they scammed you.
If PSA AUTHENTICATED every item that people "said they got in person" the market would be flooded with forgeries. Also, to the guy complaining about the grade.......you need to understand they have measures in which they grade. Why should they break those measures for you? You say you hope you can get 300$ for it. I will happily buy it for 300$ put it on eBay and I will buy it right now

I know Mickey Mantle's autograph, up and down, inside now. I met him several times in my life. Wonderful man. Got a few balls sign. A few books. A few magazines. Few pictures and I have several autographs that would come back at 10. As for your baseball? That's an 8.5 or 9 All day long.

Beckett and JSA are also a joke. I was at a card show submitting cards to be graded by Beckett. They were taking submissions and then shipping them back to me later. I needed one more card to get a certain bulk discount, so I bought a box of 2006 topps base set just hoping for some kind of hit to submit. THE BECKETT GUY EVEN HELPED ME BY OPENING HALF THE PACKS. I pulled a gold parallel Mantle that was numbered, and I was like, "hey, this isn't much, but it's pack fresh and a high grade, grading it should make it pretty valueable." The guy witnessed me opening it and everything. Two weeks later when my cards come in, the Mantle isn't slabbed. It had a note stuck to it saying "This card has been altered and colored in on the sides, and cannot be graded." They were claiming I took a regular card and painted it gold... And just took my money and didn't care.
Damn bro!!! U know it's sad how money has ruined sports memorabilia collecting and even through their efforts to clean it up and make it legit there are still people out there who will rip u off.

PSA are a joke, back a couple years ago when my friend personally got Michael Jackson’s autograph IN PERSON, he decided he wanted to frame with a COA from PSA. Long story short he spent almost $650 on authentication and it came back FAKE!! Ridiculous, PSA are taking the piss with trying to claim an autograph given in person was fake!! I hate PSA.
As far as the autograph goes, it's pretty easy to tell even on camera that there are multiple darker and lighter spots throughout nearly the entire signature. That's a 7 all day. As far as the ball itself, something as small as a little surface imperfection here and there or a slightly worn stitch could easily knock it down to a 7. Either way, quit complaining that your ball and auto were determined to be in "NEAR MINT" condition
PSA sucks totally....I have said that for 5 years. 5 years ago I had a Mickey Mantle 1961 Topps that had been graded by PSA as a 6......I had purchased this card in a collection from a seller and the PSA case had scuffs and scratches on the back side but no damage at all to the card just scuffs and scratches on the back and many scuff marks. The guy selling told me the scuffs and scratches had been damaged somehow by his kids. I could see no evidence the card had been damaged at all. Just the outside of the case itself on back had scuffs all over it....so I ended up sending the card back in to PSA to get the card placed into a brand new mint case which I was informed that they would do no problem before I sent it in. What did I get back? I got back the card yes in a new case but instead of a grade of 6 as it originally had I get it back a PSA 4. I was so mad because there is a very giant difference in value between a PSA 6 and a 4 even back then. I contacted them and was told that while removing the card from its old case they had to regrade it before placing it into a new case and then give it a new grade even though the dang card had been graded by them to start with and the original 6 had been there grade!!!! I complained but was told that this happened at times and was standard procedure by them and that they couldnt guarentee that a card would be given the same prior grade even if it had been originally graded by yes themselves. Because they said the person grading the card may be different and have noticed something wrong with card that the original grader did not. All this is horse crap of course. I had bought that collection based mainly on the fact I could at time sell the PSA 6 Mantle and get back what I paid for the entire collection basically and then sell off the rest all profit. All I wanted was to get the card in a new clean scratch and scuff free case you know. What this told me was that not only would PSA not guarentee their own grades but that they were nothing more than a money making scam system. How could they have graded a card and then get the exact same card back to be put in a new case only to then say they had made a mistake on the original grade and it was 2 grades lower? I mean did they damage it when they removed it from original case and just make this all up? I never understood that. I still sold the Mantle eventually and ended up doing alright on the collection that was mostly raw I had bought and got my money back out of it and maybe a small profit. However this was a total rip off. If they can't guarentee their own grade then they end up costing people tons of money who are buying cards based on the market for a paticular grade and what they can sell it for. PSA ended up costing me a lot of money while ripping me off of even more. BGS is another that is popular and like by the youthful modern collectors but to me just like PSA in many ways. To me authentication is best when it comes from a individual licensed authentacor and not a corporate owned company because the corporate company will not care just all about money. The independant authenticator expert will be more accurate because they care its how they stay in business against the corporate companies that dont and most of these independant authenticators all actually work for these grading companies that hire them to authentic our autos for them. Problem is when selling the young kids think it must say PSA or its fake . The young know nothing kids think if a card is not graded or authenticated by PSA that it isnt worth anything. I much prefer a few other authenticators that are legit and not as expensive and actually have some of the very same experts working for them that used to work for PSA however the Teens and young guys in 20's in hobby wont buy them. Or want them for a raw ungraded or un authenticated price. Companies like PSA are just as responsible for the hobby dying out as over production in the 80's and 90's of cards and the steroid era in baseball. But PSA does suck they have ripped me off a few times.
Matthew McMillian I totally agree with you. For some reason PSA became the standard of the hobby. Their has been many times that I've seen a graded PSA card that by my naked eye I disagreed with the grade on it. I'm sorry to what happened to you but I guess we live and learn. I had five in person autos turned down. Sucks when you know they are real, it basically feels like the company is calling you a liar. i even had pictures with the athletes after the autograph, but not holding up my items. lesson learned. Things will get better with psa keating is a million times better then grad
You’re absolutely correct!! I sent in a Kris Bryant auto card (in person) that was signed right in front of me! I didn’t get it rookie graphed until the 3rd time sending it in. I lost money on it. I also sent in 170 cards to be graded and I’m talking they were flawless, to have 1 card come back as a 10!!! They’re straight up fucking scammers. I honestly think they hate on other people’s shit. Go on eBay and buy a PSA 10 from “4 sharp corners” and see what PSA grades as 10’s for them!! I’ve bought several. One was a 10 with a damn coffee stain on the front of it. I hear they have a special deal where they only slab it for them if it’s a 10 and only charges them if it’s a 10 for the grade....no bullshit! Fuck PSA! I’d laugh if the motherfucker got burned down.
God, they screwed you on that. Probably be safe to blame it on them. Maybe they handled it too much during the process of grading? I'm no expert but I would say that is at least an 8 overall grade. Clean auto on a ball that is in pretty good shape. A lot better shape than quite a few Mantle auto baseballs I have seen. We all get hit hard in the community, sometimes. It's just REALLY unfortunate to hear it happening to a ball signed by a player as respected as Mickey. Again, really sorry to hear. All the best in the future.
Aldo DiNatale agreed I was thinking of sending my Andy dalton autograph to be graded but it is on a cut out piece of an inflatable noise maker they give out at the senior bowl they'd probably give me a N4 or some crap XD

Have you tried Beckett? The guy from Pawn Stars Steve Grad. He was with PSA as top authenticator for 15 years & graded the highest graded Babe Ruth single signed baseball according to the article “STEVE GRAD LEAVES PSA/DNA”

I had a mantle ball done by PSA got the ball signed by mantle In i believe in 93 got the authenticity done in 2007 they graded it a 7.5 but I didn't know they are shady I got a yelich signed ball I was gonna drive down to them this weekend but I'm not sure now
you are missing the bigger picture here. Micky mantle items are very rare and a 7 does not influence the price. How many signed certified and cased PSA MM balls are there out there? Not a lot. Its a terrific item and will retain its value. To say they cost you money is probably not true. Your misplaced temperment probably will not to mention this video.
Mantle autographs are not rare lol. He signed so many autographs in his later years. He probably made more money signing autographs then he did playing baseball lol. So you're wrong about them being rare, but the demand will always be there for mantle it doesn't matter if they are rare. Everyone wants mantle stuff.
PSA does want you to make any money off the ball! If you told PSA you were going to sell it on a PWCC auction they would have given you a 10. Great video my friend. Sorry that happened to you
the signature on the ball does look a little faded. whoever owned the ball displayed it and the light faded the signature. the signature isn't bright blue as it should be. it's a darker, duller blue. also, it's pointless to have the signature graded, just sell the ball as is. sounds like you were just going for an easy flip and it back fired on you. also you can see some smudging on the a in mantle. so yes it deserves the grade of 7. you putz
Year old comment but had to reply. I’m not a collector but have a friend who pays insane money to have cards graded and signed stuff authenticated/graded. I can’t for the life of me understand how they can justify charging more because the card is valuable. Every card should be graded on the same scale and the cost should be static, set at a flat rate. As soon as I heard him mention it I got that scam feeling. I just don’t see how it should effect the grading. You should judge the condition of a worthless card the same way you do a valuable one, so how come grading a “worthless” card a 10 costs less than grading a rare card a 10? He just said that’s the way it is… and I lost interest in getting into the hobby right there.
I know this guy who got Bob Gibson And Yogi Berra autographs in person. JSA say "" FAKE " they have no clue what they doing. My dog can do it better than them.
80% of signed items are fake on Ebay ! I know because i have a friend who sold like 500 fakes ! By the way, even PSA sells fakes! my friend sold a few fakes to PSA !!!

Just want to throw this out there brother...I was afraid this video would be a lot worse than it was...I was afraid that you were gonna say something along the lines of them physically ruining the autograph...Have you ever heard about the horror stories about Mike Baker & what he did to GAI & how bad it crippled the hobby?...far worse than what happened here...Also, I'm sure you can get it graded by another legit company & who knows?...maybe they will give the ball a higher grade than a 7 (just my two cents)

If u worked 4 pwcc u would of got a 10 as a grade. I really don’t mess with psa. I try 2 stick 2 Beckett. Bgs. I’m sure Beckett has issues 2 but since pwcc ssi breakersrowe probstein buynicecards all use psa I try 2 stick 2 Beckett. I’m sure every1 knows about those sellers on eBay and what has come up about them and there selling of trimmed and altered cards. Psa does all there grading 4 them so i think psa has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

The value between a 10 and a 7 when it it comes to a Mickey mantle autograph is about a 1-2,000 dollar difference so it is a big deal

no point to grade it, just authenticate it. auto on a ball is hard to grade a 10. They are very easy to predict on grades generally
Autograph looks perfect. Can't tell how much toning the ball has. This is why I have never sent anything to PSA. I only buy PSA from auctions.

I had a mantle ball done by PSA got the ball signed by mantle In i believe in 93 got the authenticity done in 2007 they graded it a 7.5 but I didn't know they are shady I got a yelich signed ball I was gonna drive down to them this weekend but I'm not sure now

you are missing the bigger picture here. Micky mantle items are very rare and a 7 does not influence the price. How many signed certified and cased PSA MM balls are there out there? Not a lot. Its a terrific item and will retain its value. To say they cost you money is probably not true. Your misplaced temperment probably will not to mention this video.

Mantle autographs are not rare lol. He signed so many autographs in his later years. He probably made more money signing autographs then he did playing baseball lol. So you're wrong about them being rare, but the demand will always be there for mantle it doesn't matter if they are rare. Everyone wants mantle stuff.

the signature on the ball does look a little faded. whoever owned the ball displayed it and the light faded the signature. the signature isn't bright blue as it should be. it's a darker, duller blue. also, it's pointless to have the signature graded, just sell the ball as is. sounds like you were just going for an easy flip and it back fired on you. also you can see some smudging on the a in mantle. so yes it deserves the grade of 7. you putz

Year old comment but had to reply. I’m not a collector but have a friend who pays insane money to have cards graded and signed stuff authenticated/graded. I can’t for the life of me understand how they can justify charging more because the card is valuable. Every card should be graded on the same scale and the cost should be static, set at a flat rate. As soon as I heard him mention it I got that scam feeling. I just don’t see how it should effect the grading. You should judge the condition of a worthless card the same way you do a valuable one, so how come grading a “worthless” card a 10 costs less than grading a rare card a 10?

80% of signed items are fake on Ebay ! I know because i have a friend who sold like 500 fakes ! By the way, even PSA sells fakes! my friend sold a few fakes to PSA !!!

Just want to throw this out there brother...I was afraid this video would be a lot worse than it was...I was afraid that you were gonna say something along the lines of them physically ruining the autograph...Have you ever heard about the horror stories about Mike Baker & what he did to GAI & how bad it crippled the hobby?...far worse than what happened here...Also, I'm sure you can get it graded by another legit company & who knows?...maybe they will give the ball a higher grade than a 7 (just my two cents)

Looks to me like the only way to do things properly is to become the expert yourself. How hard could it be. And even worse than this video, they are giving me a LOO (Letter of Opinion) basically meaning it is fake... HOW THE HECK CAN A BALL THAT HAS THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT AND AUTHENTICATION BE FAKE? So please go do your authenticating elsewhere, PSA is a joke.

Yeah no kidding. I emailed customer service complaining about this, and I'm sure they won't issue a receipt, so spreading the word is really the only thing to do. It's really unbelievable. I'd rather have your 7 ): give me this "we can't verify it" nonsense when I have the original receipt from 1997... just an absolute waste of money.

If u worked 4 pwcc u would of got a 10 as a grade. I really don’t mess with psa. I try 2 stick 2 Beckett. Bgs. I’m sure Beckett has issues 2 but since pwcc ssi breakersrowe probstein buynicecards all use psa I try 2 stick 2 Beckett. I’m sure every1 knows about those sellers on eBay and what has come up about them and there selling of trimmed and altered cards. Psa does all there grading 4 them so i think psa has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

I been saying psa is horrible for years. like u pay to send ur stuff sent in to have some asshole give his "expert" advice on the grading of something. lol its just his.opinion. whats sad is that a lot of collectors don't even want cards or items unless they have been psa certified. so hell yeah I agree, psa is a joke. but believe me, ur not the only one who has been disappointed on the grading results. I'll never pay to have cards graded.
