I ordered mine from Cannakit last week, it's coming from Canada so it's 6-10 days of shipping, Pi Zero W is $10 but so is the shipping so it cost me $20 but it's totally worth the $$

Have you checked that your cpu is running at 1ghz, I have heard there was a bug that got fixed in the new pixel release because the zero w was only being shipped at 700mhz, not sure if this issue also effects retro pi type installs or what not.
ETA Prime if i install this theme on my raspberry pi 3 full updated and over 10 systems will work or i'll have the white screen of death? i like that tronky theme.

@ETA PRIME Hopefully you see this. You seem to have tested a ton of these SBCs. Ive always put together my own computers and done really basic- slightly advanced computer stuff, but Ive never run Linux or done anything with a Pi. I have recently gotten interested in SBCs, and would like to create a media center/ emulation station that I can take with me to friends houses, to work, set up for my mom, etc. That said, which board can you recommend most for power and compatability- for someone who doesnt have the skills to do a ton of file manipulation and setup? My kneejerk reaction was just to go for a lattepanda or something x86 so I could be familiar with the platform, but it seems like a lot more work has been put in for boards like Odroid or raspberry pi. In other words, I want the most powerful board I can get for a decent price, with the best chance of things going smoothly.
I haven't received my zero w yet, but my zero 1.3 stutters for less than a second every now and then randomly on every game from any system. Do you know why this is happening?
As an added note - the new wifi and BT doesn't appear to share the bandwidth with the USB (unlike the previous PIzero as they were plug in USB devices)

I have rpi model A with 256 MB ram and was able to run Snes and Megadrive on 800MHz with memory split 128/128. Gameboy gambatta runs ok and Alienvspredator on FBAlpha with overclock.Mame is unusable unfortunetlly.. Gpu must have min 128,otherwise there's no graphic in menu and you're navigating in blind. Could you point again how to add second joypad? All best

Pc Gaming Noob Tv I would try changing your emulator, when selecting a game you should get a small screen, hit button A when you see this screen and you should get some options and be able to change your emulator

Zero or Pi 3 I have heard that Zero is a single core and Pi2-3 are quad cores. So I am assuming that Pi Zero has higher single core speeds and Pi2&3 have lower single core speeds. If RetroPi doesnt support multicores, would the higher clock speed on the zero (if I am correct about it only being a single core) make a difference on performance? Does retroPi support multicores? Zero has half the amount of ram as the Pi3, would that make a big difference in these games? Which has better integrated gpu? Thanks!
ETA PRIME thanks for the help I got retro pie loaded on the pi0w but now I'm not detecting a game pad...put the sd card into my pi 0 and it does the same thing. any suggestions would be appreciated..

You should put thermal paste between the heat sink and the CPU.
+andrew byi it really won't help much. The heatsink has a sticky thermal pad that transfers heat perfectly for this small unit

To make the zero retropie download work in the w, you have to put it into an older zero and upgrade and dist-upgrade then put it into the W

Matt Lock what controller are you using? I tried my Xbox one controller and it wouldn't show up until I rebooted with it plugged in
