@@geoffl I get my calves weaned from a dairy I work on. When I get them home I start them on a mix of a pellet concentrate of about 300 pounds mixed with around 3300 pounds of ear corn and a bag of dry molasses on self feed along with a round bale and free choice mineral. What percentage of soybean meal that's in it, I have no idea but I bet its at least 50% in broiler feed.
@@danw6014 thanks. I'm trying to build a cattle feeding margin chart so I need to know what realistic food costs will be. For now, I'll chart something like: live cattle - (feeder cattle + corn/soy mix)

If rancher could hold out for a year or two not selling or not breeding so that processors and packer have nothing this bull sh. Would stop.
