Hello from Washington State! Marion, you made the Green Carpet moth come alive with your beautiful stitching! Because of you, I now have a new appreciation for the beauty of moths. I am enjoying your videos talented lady.
I am sure your Carpet Moth fluttered its wings.....exquisite stitching Marion...I am really enjoying watching your Moth Embroideries appear from the cloth...Thank you so much for showing us...and I am looking forward to your next Stitch Journal as I am actually up to date. 🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻
You may not know this Marion, but there are quite a few TH-camrs mentioning you lately! All in a good way, as we are all in awe of your creative talent and stitching skills. I am learning stitches never seen before and all about gorgeous moths, so thanks for the excellent tutorial!
I love your 2-color chain stitch. I never would have thought to do that. That’s one of the reasons I like watching you stitch. I pick up new techniques. You are inspiring me with your moths. I just requested a couple of books from my library about moths in my area.
I've never seen that two-coloured chain stitch demonstrated before, that was so very clever & looks so good :) Thank you so much Marion, this a truly stunning work of Art. Your videos are fast becoming a real highlight of my week. Have a really lovely week xXx
My first visit. Fascinated with your green carpet moth project. Fortunate to have that gorgeous green fabric! Lovely work. Thanks to k3n for mentioning your youtube.
I have long been an admirer of moths and wanted to stitch them, but I could not envision a way to do so. Your tutorial has inspired me to try and enabled my efforts.
I love that you’re featuring Moths. Here in the USA we have some beautiful Moths too. Yours looks so real. I really enjoyed watching your newest creation.
Oh, Marion, you made a lovely moth. That frilly edge at the bottom made your moth seem so real, I wanted to touch it. Thank you, Marion. It’s a wonderful video.
Thank you souch Marion, the moth is so beautiful. I also enjoyed how you filmed closely explaining everything and then showing the differences once the first side was complete. You really are an excellent teacher. 🍎
The moth is beautiful. Thank you for showing us the world of moths and the colours they resemble. I am learning how the thread painting is done. Keep warm, here in Ontario, we are having real cold weather, -29 windchills for tonight. I have am working on my 2nd border of Dear Jane. I was hoping to finish it by the end of the month. Looking forward to seeing the new stitch tomorrow on the stitch journal.
Thank you Marion for the video,I feel as if I am definitely learning about moths. I have even told my friends about these colourful specimens and we all admit to our ignorance. You were even mentioned in dispatches by Corrine on her channel (she opted to stitch a dragonfly). It is amazing how using different colours of thread brings this little moth to life. It looks 3D as if it could fly off the fabric you never get that feeling with cross stitch.Stay warm and as dry as possible. See you soon.
Thanks Bridget for answering, it is so nice to see we seem to watch the same people, what a great community. Carol (sorry different computer today so it is my friends user name ) @@marionsworld24
Good morning Marion, thank you so much for such a beautiful way to tell us about the carpet month , also for such your beautiful talents. I always look forward to your video, with lots of appreciation Teresa xx
What a beautiful moth that is, I’ve never seen it in real life but will sure will keep an eye out for it. Your embroidered version is beautiful. We had a gypsy moth laying eggs against our house, its head looked so fluffy, and the eggs were also covered in fluff.
Such a lovely moth! I look forward to seeing what you do next! And I appreciate what you said about changing people's minds about moths...or just simply making them aware of how beautiful and varied they really are. I try to do the same in my collagraph and drypoint prints featuring moths.
Finally caught up with this. We always go for the camera and book when we find a moth as they're not so easily seen in daylight but are beautiful - although they were never welcome inside by my mum or aunts but then we wore and used more wool in the past! I used up one of mum's old blankets to use wrapped in layers around old tins and covered for Needlelace pillows - and lined the insides to tuck away needles, threads etc. I look forward to your next choice😊
Such a brilliant choice Marion, the Carpets are all really beautiful. I am in awe of you being able to do this, I think I will have to have a go soon :-) I think they would look really lovely laid out like an old collector’s moth box. :-)
What a beautiful moth is the green carpet. I will look a bit closer in the spring for moths in my garden. Most moths I know are beige, brown or a color what looks brown. Never to old to learn something new. Thank you Marion. Have a nice week.
Marion I think I say this all the time, you are so talented. Your work is incredible, the details you add to each of your stitcheries is truly stunning. You are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing. ❤ 🧵 🪡
Spectacular! I loved seeing this beautiful moth come to life. You also piqued my curiosity about Australian moths. I was thinking as I watched, that I only see the cabbage moth and a brown moth I don't know the name of. So off I went researching. The pretty white thing that devours my garden bed, called a cabbage moth is in fact a butterfly! And the brown thing I didn't know the name of is the cabbage moth. Thank you for taking me on such an interesting journey. 😊
We have cabbage white butterflies here in the UK too. However... In Australia you have the largest moth in the world! The Hercules moth is nearly 1 foot across in wingspan. You also have some beautiful Hawkmoths. Have a look at the Pellucid Hawkmoth. It's gorgeous!
I love your series about flowers, birds and now moths. I really enjoy your teaching and your makes. I have a wish that you write the latin name in the description for those of us that use another language than english. Thanks
Great idea. I'll do that. I was originally going to write their names in Latin on the embroidery, but realised it was going to be too long. I'll go in and put the Latin in the video description. Thank you for suggesting it 💐😊
Really enjoyed watching the second month almost coming to life. I had not seen the two colour chainstitch before, will need to try that out somewhere. 😊
Absolutely stunning. We have a green moth called a Luna Moth and I was lucky enough to get a picture of it as it sat on a window frame. It has similar greens to this one. Thanks again for your company while I stitched on a project. ❤
Good morning Marion 😊 I began the day looking at your video with the Carpet moth. So lovely embroidery ❤. I never seen a colored moth in Sweden, perhaps I have the wrong eys😎😔? The moths I saw are all brown/grey or black/grey or in one of this colors, but they may have beautiful patterns! This night it has been very windy and snowy so when I look out of my bedroomwindow it looks like I have got a lacecurtain on it. A pail sun shines between light grey clouds trough it. It's beautiful❤ Looking forward to wednesday! Have a lovely day Marion! 🪰🦋🦚
You have these beauties Ingela .. This is from the Swedish database I think... pbase.com/coridon/sphingidae We have some of these ones too. The Elephant hawk moth is the most amazing colours of pink and green! I am imagining a wonderful picture of the sky and pale sun from your lovely description... Thank you 😊
Hello Marion, This video was completely mesmerising. The carpet moth you created is absolutely beautiful - a real treat to the eye. I am already looking forward to seeing what you produce for us next week. In the meantime, enjoy all your creative activities.
How very beautiful moths can be! I intend to buy a book about them, thank you for drawing my attention to them. Your stitchery is really lovely. I'm looking forward to next Wednesday 😊
Hi Marion. Another beautiful piece of work. The attention to detail is stunning. The two colour chain stitches make a lovely effect. I am going to have a practice. Our house backs onto woodland, we get some huge moths . Xx
Have you ever had a good look at them Angela? A really simple way to get them to stay still is to hang a white sheet up in the open. Put a decent torch behind the sheet. Once it's switched on you'll get moths landing on the sheet. Then you can see which moths land. They'll stay there long enough for you to take a picture, or to have a proper look at them. Then just turn off your torch and they'll fly away.
Another lovely & beautiful moth finished. You are a great stitcher & I certainly get educated watching you & listening to your descriptions as you stitch!❤😊
You say it’s just straight st. But you are so good you know exactly where to put them , I like the story about the moth and you embroidery is special. Great tutorial thanks again.
So beautiful love watching you make things come to life thank you your an inspiration to me. Handsewing is something I haven't done much of but I'm going to follow along with your stitch journal and continue to be inspired by you 😊
Never knew that moths could be so pretty and colorful, thanks for sharing your knowledge Marion! The embroidery is amazing, you manage to capture so many details. The 2 strand technique is another new one for me. I also enjoyed the sound of rain very much. ❤❤❤
Oh my word the moths are glorious so talented ❤
I was supposed to be stitching more moths... but I was sidetracked by something else 😊
Great video. Love the two coloured chain stitch, thanks for showing us. Xxx
Gorgeous 🎉thanks Marion for sharing...lots of people don't like moths but i think they're fascinating ❤
I do too🥰 I was hoping to show just how beautiful they can be...
