Came across this video and showed it to my granddaughter, who's 4 1/2 years old. She saw a few flying insects and got back with me saying, that lady is so lucky to have fairies in her garden. They're so fast your eyes have to be quick. She tells everyone by way of her great grandma that if you see butterflies and dragonflies, fairies will be near, flying alongside or riding the dragonflies backs. She calls the garden spiders the guardians of the gardens.
Well you can tell her from me that there are definitely fairies here. My fabric raven came down with a message for one of the garden inhabitants. I don't know who yet as I haven't made them yet... but a story is there to be told! Also... I love to see the patterns on the big spiders...
I loved watching this as I was sewing at my machine. We have been so dreary here, seeing the sun and hearing the birds gave me the hope of warmer days to come. Thank you, Marion.
Thank you for sharing your world, Marion. This was a beautiful video with all the things in it that make me happy and I learned a new method of making rock buns 😊
you live a blessed life, in a world full of color, texture, birds and flowers. Its like you are exactly where you were meant to be a living a full life because you are tapping into all the gifts and talents your soul brought into this world to explore and discover how to be creative and we are all benefiting from it. Thank you so much!
I really appreciate your message. Thank you so much. I just don't need much other than to keep creating the things I want to do in the best way I can ... 💐🧵🪡🌿
As you can probably tell, I'm going back through your older videos because I don't want to miss any of your gems, tips, tricks and recipes. I now have Marion's Rock Buns as part of my recipe collection and they will be made tomorrow (Sunday) as our weekend treat ❤
My 8 year old granddaughter is experimenting with needlework and after I found your videos, I hope to be able to introduce her to your ideas and open up a new world of creative ideas for her to try.
That raven you're making here is magnificent. What you can do with a few bits of fabric and some stray threads is nothing short of amazing. Such beautiful beautiful work .
Oh Marion, I love this video so much. You are so knowledgeable and friendly. I love the song of the blackbird when you are out in your beautiful garden. Then you said your favourite poem was, The Peace of Wild things, and that is mine too. Thank you for adding to the lovely things in the world.
The first poem I found of his was To Know The Dark. I thought it was so lovely that I looked for more and now have a couple of his books. The Peace of Wild Things is just so beautiful!
He has such a beautiful way with words.. Another favourite from him is this one www.goodreads.com/quotes/8877388-to-know-the-dark-to-go-in-the-dark-with
I'm happy you enjoyed it Gail. I was still trying to learn how to make the videos, so the earlier ones are sometimes a bit long as I didn't know how to edit them properly... The flower pounding is a great thing to try. I've used some of the prints in my flower book 😊
I am going to try the flower printing and your rock buns! I’ve never had them before. I saved the video so I can find it easily. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden. The birds signing were the cherry on top!
The bird is so real looking , you do such wonderful work, the flower pressing was fun. I love to here the birds singing and the cows talking together. Take care 😊 ❤ Linda W.
You can actually freeze the butter to shred it fast and the room temp will warm it up and works great too. But I will also try your method of rolling it in the flour, that is a great trick!
Thanks Kathryn. It seems so long ago now. My poor garden is in an even worse state than it was then I'm afraid. I really struggled to get motivated with it after Michael passed away. Even though I did all the gardening anyway... I think this year might just be the year to get it back to ship shape hopefully. That reminds me though... I'll have to make some rock buns! :)
That's the lovely thing about gardens - there's always next year 😉 I remember making rock buns at school but I think mine came out actually like rocks rather than lovely and fluffy like yours. 😂 Though my baking has improved since then. ❤️
Hello Marion, with greetings from Ottawa, Canada. I have only recently come across you and your world. Loved this wander through your garden along with everything else in the video. I have started your 2024 stitch along and am looking forward to that as well as catching up on your past videos:)
Your videos are fantastic Marion. I’ve learned so much from you. You have so many brilliant skills. I love your bird book & flower book. Hadn’t heard of flower pounding before. What lovely results
Such a beautiful relaxing video. Loved how you used flowers and leaves to print fabric! I bet it is fabulous with embroidery! So excited to give this a flower pounding try! 😂
Marion! I am so excited! We have a ton of Mulberries on the tree we planted 5 years ago. It is loaded! Already made mulberry syrup and jam. 😋 NOW, I want to see if some of that beautiful fruit can be used for flower pounding. The leaves are large and green and the fruit is deep purple. 😊
Oh I'm so jealous! If I had a huge garden the first thing I'd plant would be a mulberry tree...💕 I have a story of eating them in Buckingham palace gardens.... scrumptious!!...☺️
I love to see your every day life (gardening, baking, tea time etc). I appreciate that you are able to make beautiful items, without spending much money.
Thank you. I always try to be as thrifty as possible whilst still enjoying my sewing and crafting. It would be so easy to spend a huge amount because there's so many beautiful things you can buy now, but I like re-purposing where I can.
You had a busy day, thank you for sharing it with us. The blackbird was making himself heard in your idyllic enclosed garden, no doubt wondering what that other black bird was doing there. The flower pounding was such a revelation, you are a lady of many talents. Hope you enjoyed your Solstice day.
We live in central California, it's almost impossible to have a beautiful garden with water rationing. The Orange trees and walnut trees get the most of the water. Thank you for sharing your garden, I relish it so much. The picture you see on the side is my great grandson.
Hi Marion just found your podcasts, they are so relaxing and calming, I could watch and listen to you all day. Thank you for sharing your world with me, I feel calmer and inspired by the things you have so kindly showed us. I am so glad I have found you, please keep doing what you are doing xxx Kim xxx
Oh my word, your garden is lovely. If that were here where I live ( southern United States) I would never wander through there without a really good set of snake boots on lol. I’m jealous seeing everyone’s gardens that are full and thick like this without a worry of being snake bitten. So I live vicariously though you all. You had a nice day, busy, but nice.
I can't even imagine having to watch out for snakes in the garden! Of course you will have lovely warm weather there. We've got rain, rain and more rain with a bit of coldness thrown in at the moment. Plus it's getting dark at around 4.30pm too...
Thanks for sharing your day and your beautiful garden it all looks so tranquil ❤ It was interesting seeing your flower prints I might give it a try in the summer time…it’s winter solstice her in New Zealand so the flowers are a bit few and far between at the moment 😊 I’ve never tried rock buns they certainly look delicious and your Raven 🐦⬛ is stunning. What a talented lady you are.
Thanks a lot Tracey. Rock buns are delicious. A proper old-fashioned little cake! The raven is coming along nicely too. His tail is finished now. I hope you do give the flower pounding a try. It's amazing to see the beautiful print emerging. And even the failures provide pretty little snippets of colour to be used somewhere.
I live in Australia, so our weather is just becoming nice, I will be taking my stitching outside while its nice, couldnt sit outside in summer its too hot. @@marionsworld24
Loving the moths, really getting my inspiration going. I love catching up with you every Wednesday and Sunday, just like popping in to have a nice cuppa and a chat with an old friend. Best wishes from Jaz Australia.
I felt like I was there in your garden with you- it was lovely!! Thank you for sharing your day- loved the flower pounding and your raven is fantastic- it is so fascinating to see what you turn up out of some great charity shop finds and your imagination! You have an eye for spotting the materials and the vision to shape the bird ,topped off with the skill sets to fashion it all into a beautiful piece of art! Well done you!!! You weren’t kidding when you said you have lots of ideas! Thank you for taking the time to share with us- it’s a joy!
My goodness...thank you so much for your compliments! I think I've always just had to make do, so my first thought on finding something is 'What can I make with that!"😅
What a delightful video, Marion. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of i! Definitely going to have a go at your smashing 🤭 eco printing technique in the summer. Hardy geraniums, the blue ones, are one of my favourite flowers, as are yellow roses, so I’m very inspired by that. My mum is in her 80’s and was making Rock Cakes regularly until fairly recently, because they’re my dads favourite. He likes to have chopped dates in them, and they were also delicious. I absolutely love coconut and would have it in everything if I could, so I think I’m going to have a go at doing them with coconut, maybe with a cherry on top too. The raven is spectacular! You are a very talented lady. I’ve only just found your channel, so I’m currently binge-watching to catch up and letting the adverts run so I hope that’ll help you with the TH-cam algorithms. Please keep up the good work, and showing us what you get up to in your world. I haven’t read the comments, but I’m sure I’m not alone in looking forward to watching your channel develop. Your confidence appears to be growing with each video, and it’s so lovely to see. Wishing you all the best with it. Oh..and, I’ve also got a pet gander called Boo, after the enigmatic character in “To kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, which is one of my favourite novels. Your Boo reminds me very much of a cat that I had once that was a cross with a Maine Coon. He had the most delicious strawberry blonde curly belly and was a real character, just like your Boo! Take care
What a lovely message to read. Thank you for taking the time to send it. I'm so happy you enjoy seeing whatever I'm doing. I've definitely got more used to filming.. I hadn't got a clue originally 😅
I really do enjoy following what you're getting up to. I seem to share a lot of your interests, from what I've seen so far, so I'll be following along for the forseeable future I should think. ❤
I LOVE this (too!! totally addicted to you, your work and your videos) This is the ONLY "eco-dying" that has ever worked for me. The minute I started watching this, I ran out to my flower beds and brought in some blossoms to play with. The phlox worked brilliantly, as did the mint and wild geranium leaves. I did some day lilies too, but their prints ended up looking more like iris on the fabric. Not only did I get some wonderful fabrics to play with, it was genuinely gratifying to know that I may have been irritating my neighbors for a change, lol. THEIR noise never stops 🤪😈🦀 edit: my hot pink phlox went purple just like your pink flowers.
Some of the colours really are surprising. If you want them to stay better you'll have to treat your cloth with a mordant like alum... It's lovely just to experiment though and see what happens 🌿🌸
Wow! The flower prints are gorgeous, your garden is magical, and bird magnificent! Thank you for sharing so many wonderful things. You are amazingly talented and a great teacher. I'm loving your channel. Thank you so much for sharing your world! 💕
Hello Marion, never heard of this craft / hobbie before definitely will try , thank you. I just love your channel, so many talents, have a good afternoon. Kind regards Teresa xx
A beautiful poem & a beautiful day spent in the garden. Thank you for sharing as the summer solstice is almost upon us again and I think I'll smash flowers this year. Blessings!
Thank you for sharing your day with us 😊 I lost a wonderful friend this year who was also a keen cook. My thoughts turned to her as I watched you baking.❤ Thanks so much for sharing your favourite poem. 🙏
Absolutely beautiful Marion. Thank you for sharing your day with us. I love your black bird. He is a handsome fellow. Looking forward to seeing more of you and your little corner of the world. Your garden is the perfect picture of an English country garden, to me. 🥰
We drove for 2 hrs on 20th in heavy rain to celebrate a Golden Wedding and deliver the Sampler I'd stitched. Returned in sunshine all evening and had more sunshine today. Felt as if I was enjoying Summer Solstice with you in your peaceful garden. Pity we couldn't smell the Rock Buns and try one😂! Fascinated by how the flower pounding turned out and how you're creating the bird. Thanks Marion
Summer solstice is such a beautiful time of year. I love your garden. It looks like a magical fairy garden. Your raven is so beautiful. Your imagination is so amazing. So lovely spending this time with you. I believe if you lived close to me we would be grand friends. Thank you so much for being you and starting up your youtube channel
What a glorious day! I tried the flower hammering this past summer, too. Your attempt was much nicer than mine. I used paper instead of fabric and hollyhocks. I’ll use something different next time. I love your blackbird, too! My friend calls them my ‘people’. They are such fabulous creatures. Thanks for sharing your beautiful day!
Dear Marion, I just discovered this video, and it makes me so happy! Although it's February I can't wait to use the flowers of my allotment for making pretty things just like you did. I often tell my friends about your channel and today also my teacher at the art centre that I visit. She was also enthusiastic about it. I can smell the rock buns over here, and the recipe looks quite easy to make, so I will give it a try 😊 Thanks again for showing me your beautiful garden, I love it ❤❤❤

I’m so glad I found you. What a sweet, peaceful garden you have. I also love your sweet spirit. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
Thank you 💐
Absolutely beautiful Marion. Thank you for sharing your day with us. I love your black bird. He is a handsome fellow. Looking forward to seeing more of you and your little corner of the world. Your garden is the perfect picture of an English country garden, to me. 🥰
I've been working on him again today. The tail is finished now so I'm on to his head now 😊
❤🎉❤
So enjoyed this video Marion.💕
☺️💐🌿🐦
Such a beautiful video. S real treat for the senses.
Just lovely!
Goodness gracious! Thank you 💐
We drove for 2 hrs on 20th in heavy rain to celebrate a Golden Wedding and deliver the Sampler I'd stitched.
I hope the celebration went well Jean.
The rock buns smelt and tasted delicious. Even though I left them in a couple of minutes too long. 😅
That's so kind Brenda. Thank you. I'm so pleased you're enjoying what I'm up to.💐
Beautiful day! Thanks for sharing your day with us!
You're welcome Terri 😄
Love the crow or blackbird, wonderful work. Lovely day for all your projects. You have a lovely garden and it is peaceful.
Thank you. My raven is still waiting for a proper perch... He just sits on my old sewing machine at the moment...
That seems so long ago now... It's been pouring with rain here almost all day!
I absolutely love your videos. You are so calming, and an amazing artist.!
Dear Marion, I just discovered this video, and it makes me so happy! Although it's February I can't wait to use the flowers of my allotment for making pretty things just like you did. I often tell my friends about your channel and today also my teacher at the art centre that I visit. She was also enthusiastic about it. I can smell the rock buns over here, and the recipe looks quite easy to make, so I will give it a try 😊 Thanks again for showing me your beautiful garden, I love it ❤❤❤
Thank you for your lovely message. I'm glad you enjoy watching...
