Young Newton, it is true God has given you a talent and I'll be the first to say don't let the light quench. I'm not here to hold brief for your parents but I suspect they mean well for your future. They are saying (paraphrasing) not to pursue music at the expense of basic education. In some parts of the world like UK where basic education is mandatory, allowing you to abandon education in pursuit of music can land them in prison. What you need is to continue to develop your music talent, whilst pursuing your basic education. Please bear in mind that education is passport to the world. There must be a number of specialist schools where you can get basic education whilst developing your musical dream. Good luck.
