You gotta have a sense of humour in Scotland as everyone takes the piss outta everyone If ya can’t laugh it off or come back with something better your gonna get ripped even more 😂😂
Hello from Scotland! You guys should book a trip here you'd be very welcomed. Just bring your best game, because this is the kinda conversations you'll encounter wherever you go and you gotta be ready to fire back with some funnies, We love a bit of banter (taking the piss, making jokes) no offence intended it's just the accent that makes it sound aggressive but we're always just having a laugh wherever you go
It's the accent...nothing we can do about it, we don't even need to drink to sound aggressive, but I promise all we say is always in jest to have a laugh, and we hope you have some comebacks ready to continue the laugh. That's how we do in Scotland
@@heathen-greaser if you're not a fellow Scot then thaaaanks, if you are, then that's a statement we have to stand by...other than Edinburgh. Edinburgh, Harry Potter county, has it's own accent...they almost sing their sentences. Sounds cool, but not authentic Scottish, tourist Scottish 😂
I've just noticed that blood worker from coatbridge was in my class at school! his name is Martin lol! great reaction video guys thoroughly enjoyed it!
Oh I forgot suggestions, there are a few videos of the comedian Lee Evans I think you'd love. Talking About The Wife | Lee Evans, Flying Economy Is A Grueling Experience | Lee Evans, Road Rage - Lee Evans: Monsters. All three of those are on his official channel so easy to spot you've got the right ones, enjoy!
We make fun as a term of endearment and expect some insults in return, if you've got none, you need to go home. 'Cunt' is also freely used as a good or bad thing...depends on your face haha
Frankie Boyle's parents are - like the late great George Carlin's dad - from Donegal here in the north of Ireland. "Boyle" is a common last name here. Frankie has pointed out before that his humour is almost directly opposite to his parents' community growing up in rural Donegal, where people are almost insanely nice and reluctant to insult anyone, often too much so IMHO. We have a very shared culture between here and, particularly Glasgow, in Scotland.
I went to his recent tour. evryone still gets it and has a laugh. i don't think he picked on people as much, but he's still savage. You need to see some of his proper stand up not just the abuse lol. big up
No matter the country, there are ALWAYS people that are too sensitive and can't take a joke, even in the UK. In general though, the UK population thrives on brutal and dark humour
Yeah we live on Banter Island. You gotta be able to laugh when you grow up here! Love your genuine reactions. You'll also enjoy Micky Flannigan, which will also give you more insight into us Brits
Micky Flannigan is really good, but the cockney part almost down plays how good he is. I've seen lots of reactions to him, and after a while I realised, actually his jokes aren't just funny, they're actually incredibly well crafted, if that makes sense. It's the kind of talent you realise is natural. Like, you can't just train and grind your way to being that good at it.
Glasgow is a divided city and is often described as Belfast light because of its similar religious divide. Lots of Irish Catholics emigrated there over the years and lots of the Scots already there who were protestant didn't like it too much, Irish Catholics are generally pro Irish reunification and against Britain, while the British (and NI) protestants are pro British. Those with an Irish background tend to support Celtic football team and those of British/protestant background support Rangers. Larkhall is a big Rangers area, so much so that even big brands that have green (colours of Celtic and Ireland) in their branding changed their signs in this area so didn't have any green. Frankie Boyle is of Irish heritage so probably why there's so many who there booing someone from Larkhall. His background is probably a reason for his mocking of the British army (if you know about what they dod in Ireland) and for his pro Palestine views (although these are far more common for most in Britain than America).
You definitely know you're paying to get insulted. It's like an honour to have the God of filthy insults have a go at you. Parents taking their kids is the funniest.
You should check out the work of David Renwick for dark comedy. I mean he made a sitcom where the protagonist cruicified 5 people and walked away and was fully justified in doing so.
You're in a room with a lot of plain walls - it makes the audio a bit "bouncy"/echo-y, some stuff on the walls would help a bit - foam's perfect, but fabric's good. There's also some kinda electric/electronic static too. Aside from that, enjoy your comedy reactions, good stuff. You got to understand about us Brits - that friendly - roast your friends humour is how we start. That's just normal talkling to a new person kinda vibe. Frankie's savage, but it's a comedy show and we definitely expect it. I've never been to a good comedy show that hasn't had audience interaction. I've seen some bad comedy shows and it's like the person's doing their class show and tell thing and it sucks. We want to see the quick wite, the dude that can come up with stuff on the spot. Frankie let's slip in this - the girl with the eyebrows - "I was watching you from the wings", so he's looked out at the audience whilst they're waiting and had some material ready to go - still impressive and it's cool how he personalises stuff. I imagine the dude from the blood factory had some good jokes when he went back to work after this.
Who would I least want to say something to. See Jimmy Carr and Franke Boyle, they might go the hardest, but it's part of the gig. It's part of the banter. But when Bill Burr went after that women who shouted out something like "tell him right" or something, that was funny but kind of intimidating. Thing is, American comedians don't often do crowd banter, so when someone says something, it almost comes off like they take it personally. Where as Jimmy Carr has jokes at the ready for it, he enjoys it. If you're funny enough he'd give you credit for that.
It's not reginal, everyone in the British isles is like this, General rule of thumb is this:- If a Brit is being over polite to you it's because they don't feel comfortable with you. If a Brit starts roasting you & taking the piss out of you it's because they trust you. There are exceptions. If The Brit looks & sounds angry whilst doing this it's probably best that you leave.
'These guys have a good sense of humour' Its the whole country, in terms of verbal abuse we are all brought up with it and are very much used to it. You get the shit ripped out of you at every turn, you just take it and give it back as best you can, if you take it badly, they will NEVER stop.
Watching Scots teenagers do banter is really interesting. Seems to a great back and forth game between two people, with their mates looking on but not interrupting, observing how clever, sharp, outrageous and fast the responses are. It's pretty funny to watch. It's a kind of game. The winner is the one with the best comebacks - maybe finally with one that cracks up their 'opponant' with laughter,. Losing your temper or starting a brawl as a result of banter directed at you is definitely a sign you have lost the game and lost face in front of your mates. But it's usually very good natured, and people usually accept defeat with good grace and no hard feelings. A round of general laughter from all is the best ending.
True story, starts the moment you're old enough to walk the street, then through school and ending up as an adult in the pub...that's where the best cracks are had! Old guys, many years experience, known the street for years and have a comeback for anything you've got! I love Scotland, there's no place on earth that is more real, in your face, with a smile and jokes all round, some of which can touch a nerve, but they're true and funny AF. It's up to you to respond and have a laugh
UK recommendations: Lloyd Luthor - Drugs on Tap Ren - Hi Ren Pete & Bas (crazy life story these geezers have!) These will blow your mind, watch the videos
Not just Glasgow it's the entire country. The great country that is Scotland is mostly divided into Rangers and Celtic fans...it can get a bit crazy and a bit heated sometimes...but we love it
Yip, it's standard, everyday chit chat and banter, we love it, we're best in the world at it, and it's what you expect every time you walk into the pub 😂
In his home town of Glasgow the gloves are off. You know what your getting. Also glasgow men are brutal to each other in an aggressive fun way. Especially in the ship yard area's. And the women have grew up listening to it.
We just don’t give a shit about insults if used in jest I’m from cockney land (east London) and a common greeting to an older guy you haven’t seen for ages would be “alright you old c**t you not dead yet?”😂 Wouldn’t even be considered an insult among the people I grew up with We know it’s done in humour and take it for what it is I would take the piss out of someone who felt insulted by that lol My wife however is from Hertfordshire which is leafy and posher and I have to watch how I speak around her as she doesn’t get it so it’s not the same all over the uk More acceptable in cities/towns with more working class residents
Your comment that the army would never be joked about like that over there speaks volumes about how US people are brainwashed into thinking the military is to be unquestioned in its honour and nobility, from birth. N Korea springs to mind.
I lived all over the UK for 7 years, and Scottish people and the country of Scotland are definitely the best. England is kind of dog ass Wales is good aswell
Nobody is walking out of a francie Boyle show
Everyone there loves dark humour. One of the best comedians.
I’m from Glasgow and this is how we talk to people we actually like 😂 standard talk between good pals
This is like a family get together 3 drinks in.
If Frankie went to America..
The American audience would all go home crying and wanting to sue him.. 😂😂✌🇮🇪
If he did stand up in America, the audience would have to sign a waiver.
And they'd need subtitles, too.
To confirm they have no sense of humour and wafer thin skin 🙄
just send him around all the collage campuses and give free reign to offend everyone
If ya gonna get offended, word of advice never go to a comedy club in the UK. In fact, I'd avoid comedians' full stop 😂😂😂
You gotta have a sense of humour in Scotland as everyone takes the piss outta everyone
If ya can’t laugh it off or come back with something better your gonna get ripped even more 😂😂
Also if you want a comedy series that covers getting older, Scottish accents and banter try 'Still Game'
... and make it to season 2. A lot of Americans I've watched personally struggle with season 1 and bow out early
Still game is the best show ever made
This is normal british humour. It starts at school and carries on for the rest of your life. It's amazing to me that you find this shocking.
this is nothing we havent experience as kids in the playground in the uk as kids
Such real reactions, loving your vids folks. And yeah we don't mind a good laugh even when it's at ourselves, bring it on 😁

We would love to go one day to Scotland, would be great!!!
You really need to see the Michael Jacksons Children’s Hospital skit
This is probably the darkest comedy show i have seen, he seemed very angry😂😂😂😂😂
You should see his political stuff ;)
It's the accent...nothing we can do about it, we don't even need to drink to sound aggressive, but I promise all we say is always in jest to have a laugh, and we hope you have some comebacks ready to continue the laugh. That's how we do in Scotland

Scottish people in general will take a joke, no matter how crass, with a pinch of salt.
This show is in his home city of Glasgow. Nothing is off limits there

Frankie Boyle - American Autopsy
Yeah that’d be a great one to react to.
He's performing in Glasgow.
In the West of Scotland you can't hurt us with words.
We're brutal by nature.
Always good naturedly.
I seen Jimmy Carr shocked in Glasgow, it was cut out the dvd

6:30 …this is the uk, where most of us have the worlds greatest sense of humour!

That's my cousin in the second last joke 😂 I totally forgot they were in it until watching you guys. Priceless 😂😅
This is just a normal chat between friends in the UK. We're built differently and we're not snowflakes. 😂😂
You guys should try Roy chubby brown.great vid by the way.

You need to react to lee Evans videos he is seriously funny

"Archie Gemmell!"
Frankie was one of the comedians that was in GTA IV, you could see the whole set in the comedy clubs

You guys should go visit Derry😂😂😂😂
the uk as a hole especially the older generation can take a joke and brush it off, love the reactions keep them coming
Aye so in Scotland the way Frankie gives the audience shit is the way guys bond over here. We can be ruthless but it's all good
kudos for the FUCK OFF part ,you a natural bro.
You need to react to Bill Hicks
He's in Glasgow,Scotland. Scottish people have a great sense of humour.😉
You definitely know you're paying to get insulted. It's like an honour to have the God of filthy insults have a go at you. Parents taking their kids is the funniest.
Uk old comedians . Bernard Manning, Roy Chubby Brown , Frank Carson, Les Dennis, The 2 Ronnies, Billy Connelly. Fill yer boots😂

Car Crash joke was much darker than most realise, locally a newly married couple had died in a car accident that day and it was all over the news
It's British Humour, unfortunately it's being watered down by woke culture.
7:14 I love how he tries to do a Scottish accent and ends up doing a Belfast one 😂
I tried, I know it wasn’t there 🤣
@ I’m from near Belfast and people think I’m Scottish when I’m gaming all the time, so they must be close enough anyway 😂
