Well thanks for the info i pre orderd in dec 2022 and really loosing patience. But nice to see some new info
That's awful, hope they give some major updates soon.
@@JBcoffeeguy they should this is just bullshit
Great video! I personally own a Ledger Nano X but I am losing condifedence at Ledger with the current Stax and Subscription problems they are facing. Most of their customers already moved to Tangem. I just hope this is not related to any financial problems on Ledger side as this will likely will lead to more trouble down the road.
It's really sad to see, but hopefully they can reestablish trust over time. How is Tangem? I'm very interested to try.
@@JBcoffeeguy Tangem is great! It has the best user experience. I own the Tangem 1 without the seed phrase but they have Tangem 2 now where you have the option for a seed phrase. All you need to do to make a transaction is tap your card at the back of your phone. Thats how easy it is.
I migrated to Tangem like 3 weeks ago. Is super easy but the app to manage the assets needs more work
@@LuisRiveraRomero I'll order one to try out. Definitely will do a review. What about the app needs work? User interface? More options?
Great Video man. Keep it up!
Thanks Jmoney!
They are saying its gonna be delivered now in May. Have you heard about it?
Haven't heard, was this through email? I swear I subscribed to their email list.
@@JBcoffeeguy No. Unofficial ways from people from inside
I think Tangem nailed it, but it doesn’t have the variety of support that Ledger does. Exodus is probably a better solution.
Ah gotcha.
My preorder been a year. I wrote the ledger email they keep running me around. We need to start filling complaints with consumer agencies.
It's insane, there is such lack of communication on their side. Maybe it is time to report this to some higher authority in France but need to check the laws there.
What exactly did they say? Do you mind sharing some of this info so I can do some investigation?
@@JBcoffeeguy ledger reached out to me and they said they will refund my money. I’m not in France I don’t know how I could help.
I will give them some time to give me a refund if not I’m reporting them to American agencies.
@@JBcoffeeguy I don’t mind if you use this information.
They might as well give us who have made preorders and stack with color and can be switched to power saving mode to display white and black only. Or give me my money back! Or we can all sue the hell out of them!
Good point, there needs to be more than just another free Ledger device.
Ledger could've been the Apple of hardware wallets in this space. What a waste...
Couldn't agree with you more on that... such a shame.
1) An average engineer could have easily designed the Stax, absolutely nothing special. Barely at a decent level for 2023. 2) current S and X model are indeed laughably bad, in terms of design, but also in terms of quality of materials. They absolutely used the cheapest junk materials they could, which is saddening. 3) multiple stack of same wallet also is remarkably DUMB imo, just shows how little they understand about their own product and userbase. 4) still a super basic poorly executed tech, they could not even do a god damn fingerprint sensor on it instead of PIN. 5) 13:00 if they can't do a basic research like that, how can thy be trusted with crypto assets? This is the real question. Especially since we have never seen their code.
These are excellent points, and completely valid. New video on Ledger coming out soon!
@beyondthechain and dont get me started that the X screen is actually smaller than the opening for that screen, if you look behind the plastic shield you will see that. Bluetooth being a privacy concern as it requires a gps location on mobile device to connect. My original nano from 5 years ago was barely used and i am turning it on to discover 8 dead pixels on it. Sadly I dont see anything particularly better, I dont think trezor is actually much different, their case design is ridicukously bad too, and they made a metal one and put $200 profit on that. How much greed is that? Or how much do they not understand production at scale? 🤷🏻♂️ go figure. And yeah, on units made outside of france and on all X units, inner circuitry wobbles! Like okay, for $15 maybe acceptable, but for $150? Not really
I had Ledger Nano X for three years and I finally got rid of it. I mean why the hell would I use it?
It is closed source, it is now publicly known to have a mean to read the seed phrase of the hardware, it is freaking cheap material for its price. Coin support? well, alternatives like Keystone 3 Pro have great coin support, 100% open source, and pretty decent device with 4 inch touch screen. Ledger is doing shit thinking less of its compatition as the earlier days in crypto, which doesn't hold true for anymore.
Are you currently using the Keystone 3 Pro? Easy switch from Ledger?
Its a shame with Ledger, hard to come back with such negative sentiment from users.
@@JBcoffeeguy I ordered Keystone 3 Pro and it should arrive in couple of days. If it fails I will keep looking for another open source, air gapped, and decent ecosystem integration. Ledger is a crucial reminder that if you don’t trust your bank that manages trillions of $, you shouldn’t trust a 50-employee startup to be secure and honest for your assets
@@Ahmed-Ali definitely keep me updated once you get the Keystone. If you like it, I'll order one and do a review.
Such a good point about Ledger, but somehow Trezor hasn't seemed to get the same sort of negativity. Not a fan of Trezor?
@@JBcoffeeguy I got it alongside Ngrave Zero. I enjoyed the Keystone 3 Pro better. Although don’t know what to make of the company ethics when seeing how harsh they are calling out Ledger. Ledger is terrible and I hate it, but I am a user. Seeing a company calling out its competition like that kinda send mixed signals about the company. Apart from that, the wallet itself delivers. I would love if they offer decent open source companion app for all supported assets, but it is not a deal breaker for me given a lot of other good things
I got me refund back on July 23
Maybe for the best. Even 6 months after still no news or updates...
i haven't updated the software since the announcement of storing your private keys , are they serious
Sometimes it's safer to wait a bit before updating.
im guess 4th quarter 2024
I left at 4 minutes, the video is just too jumpy to watch
Hey Richard, please explain more. Too many cuts or broll?
@@JBcoffeeguy I think he means you zoom in, jump out, and use lots of jump cuts. Maybe do one or the other, but not both in tandem. Keep up the good work otherwise! You just need a catchier channel brand name :)
@@zyrrhos Appreciate these comments, I will try for smoother transitions.
I've actually been brainstorming new names, any thoughts?
@@JBcoffeeguy Coming up with names is hard. I've written a dozen screenplays and always struggle with it. I would just look at the other influencers in the space and write down their handles and brainstorm on it. Would love to see what you come up with.
@@zyrrhos that's really cool. I've had to brainstorm for Web3 company names, so will try thinking of something catchy soon.
I cancel my order is to long
It's a shame, you could cancel anytime?
